Aerospace Careers Programme

The ACP aims to excite the interest of young people aged 12 – 17 in technology generally and, specifically, provide them with a permanent, UK-wide, careers advisory and support service regarding the aerospace, space and aviation industries. The Programme meets face-to-face an ever-increasing number of young people and then continuously provides them and their schools with regularly updated information and practical support digitally and via our in-person network.

Engineering Development Trust

The Engineering Development Trust (EDT) is a nationwide charity that encourages young people to pursue STEM careers. Its Industrial Cadets program is the industry equivalent of DofE, supported by the King and aimed at enhancing young people's employability skills. The charity's widely recognised, accredited awards scheme promotes diversity and inspires young individuals through industry-based experiences, preparing them for the future workforce.

Enginuity: Skills Miner

Enginuity is a charity dedicated to helping employers find new ways to close the skills gap. We developed the Skills Miner games, an engineering-based Minecraft game that is linked to the National Curriculum, to help young people discover their engineering skills. 92% of students who played the games learned something new. Each Skills Miner game features fun, interactive engineering activities like constructing an airplane, making sustainable fuel, or designing aircraft fit for the future. Flight Crowd

Through a variety of resources, events, and initiatives, this global platform enables people to learn about and interact with Future Flight ecosystem. By engaging with individuals from diverse backgrounds, abilities, and education levels, Flight Crowd provides support ranging from information resources, workshops, and boot camps to mentoring and work experience opportunities, all to increase employability and develop the future Aerospace workforce.

Get with the Program is on a mission to inclusively inspire the tech innovators of the future

Our unique mix of storytelling and performance teaches children coding concepts through interactive theatre, taking them on an exciting, engaging journey. Our coding adventures are fully aligned with the computing curriculum, and with our focus on diversity and inclusivity.

Stemettes

The Stemettes mission is to engage, inform, and connect the next generation of women and non-binary people to Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Maths (STEAM) by showcasing a diversity of people working in STEAM. We're working to build a world where all young women and non-binary people can make informed decisions about careers in STEAM so that women and non-binary people can be proportionally represented in the fields. Our free, fun, and food-filled intersectional events, workshops, and learning experiences across the UK and Ireland have supported over 60,000 young people in just over a decade, with 95% of attendees having an increased interest in STEAM after just one Stemettes event.

The Brick People

“The BRICK People work with LEGO®bricks to run team building sessions, build brick commissions of all shapes and sizes, put on brick events for the general public and much much more… all using genuine LEGO® bricks.”

RAF Caterham

The brainchild of RAF personnel and celebrating 52 years of global Puma Operations, Project PUMA CATERHAM is a collaboration between Caterham Cars, RAF Benevolent Fund, Mission Motorsport and Collecting Cars to design and build a car using genuine battle-hardened components from Puma HC2 XW232.

Showcasing at Summer events, the RAF Benson STEM team will motivate and inspire the next generation by displaying the car ’ s proud military heritage and the complex design challenge undertaken by Caterham and serving RAF engineering personnel. The car will be auctioned off in Summer 24 with proceeds going to Mission Motorsport and the RAFBF

HAAF

The Historic Army Aircraft Flight (HAAF) is a registered charity based at Middle Wallop in Hampshire and home to theArmy Air Corps‘ fixed and rotary wing historic aircraft. Our fleet of aircraft are flown and supported by volunteers from all walks of life including a fair proportion of ex-Military AAC and REME personnel. The HAAF aircraft are regular visitors to many major displays and events and can also be seen locally conducting fly-pasts for occasions such as Remembrance Day.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance is the charity that delivers an advanced Critical Care Team to sick and injured people in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight when they need it most. Available both day and night, 365 days a year, the Air Ambulance Critical Care Team is called out many times a day to attend road traffic collisions, sporting accidents, collapses and many other incidents.

Bulldog Aircraft

172 (Haywards Heath) Squadron RAF Air Cadets offers an engaging STEM aircraft experience. They’ve restored the Scottish Aviation Bulldog (formerly RAF aircraft registration XX520), which now serves as an interactive aircraft exhibit. Transported by trailer, the Bulldog deploys at events, providing a self-contained simulator suite with four virtual reality simulators. Over 6,000 experiences have been given to young people between 2022 and 2023. The project aims to promote aviation interest, offer high-quality ground training, and foster practical engineering skills. It also enhances the visibility of the RAF Air Cadets at public events.
