The Garden Gallery is a beautiful venue set within the tranquil walled garden of the Museum of Farnham. A self-contained building, it consists of a foyer, a light and airy main space, a kitchenette, and an accessible toilet with baby-changing facilities.
The gallery hosts a wide range of private and business hires, from kids’ parties, baby showers and intimate wedding receptions, to yoga classes, makers markets and AGMs. It is a flexible space with a paved area at the front of the building, perfect for extending your event into the garden.
Available to hire throughout the week, including evenings and weekends, hiring the space outside of museum opening hours gives you exclusive use of the museum’s walled garden. Alternatively, you can pay a small fee to get this beautiful space all to yourself during opening hours.

Services
Security Officer (min 4 hours)
Where an event, in the reasonable opinion of the Museum, requires a security presence, the hirer shall be responsible for bearing the charges of the Museum’s nominated security firm.
Cleaner (min 2 hours)
Take the hassle out of cleaning up after your event by hiring a cleaner. Please give at least two weeks notice for this service.

This is a ‘dry hire’ venue, and the hirer is responsible for the set-up and takedown of the event. You must book the space for all the time you need and will not be able to access the space outside of your booking.
For health and safety reasons, we don’t allow disco smoke, vapour producing machines or naked flames within the building. This includes birthday candles.
Our recommended capacity is 45 seated or 60 standing.
There is no car parking available at the Museum. Hirers must unload/ load from the parking bays at the front of the building (free after 8pm and on Sundays). We suggest that guests park in the Hart car parks (next to Waitrose), which are a five-minute walk away.
Entertainment and the sale of alcohol require a licence from Waverley Borough Council. This must be arranged by the hirer. Music should be turned off by 11pm, events finished by 11.30pm and hirers should be offsite by 12am.
We do not have the facilities to cook food on-site. Hirers can have a cold buffet, hire caterers who can bring the food ready-prepared or have the equipment to cook food on-site such as a pizza oven. This will need to be discussed with us first. Caterers must have their own Public Liability Insurance.
You are welcome to decorate the space, however, we do ask that you refrain from sticking things directly onto the painted walls.
The Museum of Farnham is a local history museum which was founded in 1961 to provide the Farnham community with a collection dedicated to the history of the local area. It is situated within a Grade I listed Georgian town house (Willmer House) and is an integral part of the Farnham Maltings Association.
