8mm JOURNEY ACROSS PAKISTAN Farooq JAmil Mian
Travelling comes to me naturally. I’m certain my love for photogaphy and travelling came from my father whose bundles of photo collections I went across many times while growing up. Coming in peace with diverse environments and adapting to them is a survival instinct I recieved as an army kid. Getting to know people from different cultures makes you more tolerant and understanding of others values. Encountring different situations, customs and norms makes you get more information and knowlegde about general understandding of living. I loved exploring since I was a kid and after having a crash course in Photography at National College of Arts I equipped myself with a medium to talk in. Growing up in urban Pakistan I started noticing how quickly our environment is evolving following the fast paced customs of global world. Pakistan is rich in cultural diversity and natural beauty that makes it a never ending progressive tale to tell. I bought this 8mm Samyang Lens from my first salary in 2012, I still love it as much as i loved it the first day. The best thing about it is the exaggeration, something that I lalways admired in other mediums of art as well.
