1 Promenade

PROMENADE is a place to see and be seen. The mixed use project acts as a link between the surrounding park, city market, and lofts. The private units have a dialogue with the adjacent plaza, while being clearly defined and separate. The underutilized park to the north will be redeveloped into an urban park that creates a much needed gathering space that complements the newly created plaza and River Market.

Imam Ali Complex

(Year 3) (Warr Acres, OK) (9 Weeks)

The Imam Ali Islamic Complex is a place of interaction for Shia Muslims and the larger community. Visitors follow a choreographed path, a journey, to the Mosque. The courtyard is bounded by pilgrimage cells that take advantage of the prevailing winds and views. The walls of the Mosque are rugged at the base and smoother at the apex, symbolizing the origins and purity of Islam. The steel dome reflects the environment, similar to the turquoise domes of the Middle East.

3 The Forum (Year 5) (Norman, OK) (In Progress)

THE FORUM is a 21st century library anchored by a cultural center. It is a celebration of place, which is Norman. THE FORUM is an incubator of knowledge and a setting for the exchange of ideas. Adjacent to a new transportation hub, THE FORUM is an integral part of a larger vision to activate the central Norman corridor by welcoming alienated residents and new coming visitors to a space that hints at the past with an eye towards the future.

4 Illumination (Year 1) (4 Weeks)

EXPLODED VIEW OF NIGHT LIGHT

Inspired by flower petals and flames, the organic elements create a cover for the lights that illuminate the surrounding without irritating the eye. The curved and textured surface manipulates the light to create varying hues of color that are appealing to the eye as well as meet the function of a night light.

22

EXPLODED VIEW OF HANGING LAMP

Inspired by wind-catchers and screens from the Middle East, multiple layers of patterned cardboard are utilized to allow for the diffraction of the light while blocking glare. The extrusions and openings allow for the dematerialization of the lamp.
