22/12/2013 DAV Public School, Sahibabad

O

n a sunny Sunday, this mega reunion was lit with happiness and joy in the industrial town of Sahibabad. Hailing from far-off places and equally diverse professional backgrounds the alumni-some of them accompanied by their spouses and little toddlers-made the most of the event. Apart from sharing their experiences and enjoying the delicious food, the alumni seemed most excited about their reunion with their old teachers. The performance by the school band took the energy soaring to new levels. While nostalgia reflected in each smile, the joy of coming back created a confluence of both, old and new memories.

W

ith eating arrangements in the beautiful garden and the auditorium decked up with big pictures of celebrity alumni such as Shahrukh Khan, Kangna Ranaut, Ayushman Khurana and many more, the reunion at Sec-49, Faridabad radiated grandeur of its own. Interspersed with the school band performance, the event successfully generated loads of cheer and applause. A former head-boy and alumnus of DAV set the people rolling with laughter through his fun-filled account of school memories. This and many more made the reunion a hit with all those who were present there.

D

AV Jasola Vihar became the hub of happiness when numerous alumni revisited their school to relive their old memories. Many alumni were felicitated with awards and acknowledged for their extraordinary performances. Adorned in red hats, some truly represented the spirit of DAV United. The DJ rocked the floor with his amazing mashup of songs. A song parody by the school students worked wonders in bringing smiles on the faces of all irrespective of teachers or students. The teachers, specially were glad to meet so many of their former students. It was an occasion, they wished, should happen as many times as possible.

19/01/2014 DAV Public School, Sreshtha Vihar

D

AV Sreshtha Vihar became the venue for a series of memorable performances at the mega reunion. Tushar, a magician and anchor for the event, impressed the audience with his wonderful antics. Dishant Kharbanda and Jyotisha conquered the entire gathering with their melodious voices. Alumni band just added more to the merry-making. Students felt a sense of triumph and celebration and everybody gleefully posed for the photographs. Viewing the old pictures in the decorated area reminded them of the good old days. And they sentimentally admitted of having missed the ‘time of their life’.

D

o you know the price of samosa in your canteen? Can you take names of five biology teachers in less than 10 seconds? These were some of the questions that were asked as part of the Alumni Quiz which was anchored by the lovely Mrs. Handu at DAV Dayanand Vihar. Dressed in their best outfits, the alumni enjoyed the winter evening which looked even more beautiful and pleasant in the presence of a bonfire. The performances by alumni DJ and band sent everybody’s emotions twirling in fun. A huge turnup on the very day of the reunion was another evidence of the successful event.

W

hat a teacher means to students came out clearly at the mega reunion of Sec-37, Faridabad. Overwhelmed with a feeling of gratitude and respect, the students acknowledged the immense contribution their teachers had made in their lives. The Principal was especially appreciated by many of them. Her dream of making the school so beautiful that students don’t feel like going back home was actually endorsed and hailed by the alumni present there. With performances of the school band and alumni singers the event was a perfect mix of reminiscence and entertainment.

T

he reunion at Noida was marked with its own distinct features. The alumni were welcomed very cordially with a traditional tilak and presenting a rose bud. Teachers were as enthusiastic about meeting their former students as the alumni were. The school head-boy recited some beautiful poems which were powerful enough to evoke the old golden memories in the hearts of alumni. Feet automatically switched to the tapping mode with the enthralling dance performance that reminded one of the famous Goa carnivals. ‘It was much better than what I had in mind. Totally worth it!’, said one of the alumni.

ith these DAV Mega Reunions, has started a new movement in the history of DAV. A concerted effort to bring together the alumni, teachers and administrators in a standard environment has resulted into 7 reunions in just 42 days so far. This trend will continue in the coming years, aiming to collect and celebrate the entire DAV alumni fraternity in the grandest manner possible. It is not just about meeting and having good food. Their experiences could become our lessons and with every alumni meet, the chances of DAV getting better and better becomes more and more. DAV has acquired a status which is no less than a brand now. DAV United is a force operating to make that brand bigger and more popular. Watch out for more such events in the future! We are just going to make DAV Alumni feel happier and luckier than ever!

W

ith its lavish arrangements and feast for the eyes grandeur, the reunion at Faridabad thrilled the guests with excitement and happiness. Himani Kapoor, a former contestant of numerous popular music reality shows and famous singer, performed and bound the audience with the melodious notes of her voice. The audience, present in large numbers, enjoyed it thoroughly and cheered for her. While the school band gave a rocking performance making the environment all charged up, the school teachers themselves danced to the tunes of traditional classical music there by pleasantly surprising all those who were present. The Principal touched everybody’s heart with his message and appealed to the entire alumni fraternity for constant engagement with their alma mater. Deepti Jagota, an alumnus, said, “It was exhilarating to meet with all the alumni...feeling hugely satisfied.�

A

reunion that truly represented the spirit of unity among DAV institutions! There was a musical performance from a band of DAV Vasant Vihar and also was there some show of hands by the reputed magician Tushar Kumar, an alumnus of DAV Sreshtha Vihar. The impromptu performances by the alumni topped with the cordial and evocative anchoring by the teachers made an apt mix of fun and nostalgia. Some other highlights included a special welcome song sung by the teachers and Shubhit R Bhatia’s acting gig. Mrs. Anita Makkar, the school Principal, expressed her heartfelt happiness at seeing again the passout students through her message. She stressed upon the importance of how students can contribute to their schools and what purpose DAV as an institution of learning is set out to fulfil.

DL DAV Model School, Shalimar Bagh

nthused to meet their former students, the teachers in this reunion were present in large numbers. Even though the changing weather had instilled a fear of the downpour, it remained pleasant throughout. The decorated set-up and the decked up guests added to the colourful nature of the event, both in style and effect. The Principal’s message was received well by the guests. The alumni relived the times of their school in small instances. Like the students’ events which included a band performance and a few other dance numbers regaled the audience and to many brought back the memories of their own school days when they used to perform. Many were glad and felt content for having such a great platform to meet old friends, that too in such an organised manner.

09/03/2014 VV DAV Public School, Vikaspuri

T

he reunion at Vikaspuri, from the beginning to the hilt, was filled with witty jokes and funny moments. The prayer, just like the old times, was conducted. And all the performances were well connected by a brilliant set of anchors like Hitesh Kataria and Sameeksha Garg. The alumni belonged to varied professions, one of them being a municipal counsellor. The main attraction became an impromptu performance by the Principal– Mrs. Chitra Nakra, who mesmerised the audience with a musical rendition in her own voice. Her message too echoed the purpose of having such alumni reunions and how integral the alumni are to DAV.

30/03/2014 DL DAV Model School, Pitampura

T

his one started with a welcome note from the Principal. Followed by a series of entertaining performances and with the presence of alumni from quite old batches, the reunion was more than just a hit. Rajesh Gupta, now an Additional Sessions judge and formerly a student of DAV, and his wife is a teacher in DAV Rohini, both belong to the same batch of the same school. Yet another performance by our very own DAV wizard - Tushar left the audience totally smitten. The band performances and interesting games kept everybody engaged, letting them make full use of the time at the event. The guests left with a lot more joyous emotions than they had entered with. Varun Mutreja said, “Hats off to all the people involved who organised this event so wonderfully.�

13/04/2014 DAV Public School, Pushpanjali

A

bright sunny day with an ensemble of entertaining sequences! The reunion at DAV Pushpanjali was special in many ways. With an engaging anchor GJ, alias Gaurav Jain, and a row of fabulous performances by the students, the event was hailed as a great success by many. Sri Ram’s dance swept the guests off their feet as they cheered for the talented boy. An interesting quiz based on the know-how of the school was also conducted. It was a nice way of remembering the good old days. The alumni acknowledged their teachers and expressed their heartfelt gratitude towards them. The Principal, completing her first year at school, welcomed the students through a message full of warmth and affection.

K

ick-starting the reunion season in DAV was AG DAV Public School and the event was no less than a fire-cracker which sparked in the school premises with fun and nostalgia. A sunny morning and old school- very much inviting to instances of childhood and teenage! And when those instances spilled on the stage with alumni coming and sharing their experiences, their memories, the eyes got a bit teary and giggles got a bit bigger. Add to it the alumni performances and a dancing floor, the reunion became a pot of celebration and meaningful collaboration. The retired teachers were also honoured for their efforts and years of service for the school.

H

ow many maths teachers taught you in your entire tenure at school?’ Already counting yours? Well, when the questions jumped at alumni in Ballabhgarh, the answers came like reflexes. The proof of how much the alumni are attached with their alma mater and their former teachers became clear in their prompt responses during the quiz. Along with the performances, Principal’s address led the alumni back into their cherished past. The longing they had for school, the respect they have for their former teachers and the joy on their faces on meeting old friends summed up in one reunion!
