What is the CREAM Program? The problem Each year thousands of students depart to a college or university only to be told, they are not ready. This determination is often made solely on what that child scored on their ACT or SAT alone. English - Minimum ACT = 18 (English sub test) Math - Minimum ACT = 21 (Math sub test) The North Dakota University System (NDUS) spells this harsh reality out in its own policies and procedures. It can be found within NDUS Policy 402.1.2. If your child cannot make these entrance requirements they are required to then take a remedial course; a course that your child will pay for, yet earn zero credit.
So lets prevent this
As a senior your child may enroll in the CREAM program for either English/ Writing or Math. This online course is provided for free. If your child would complete the course successfully it will be accepted by NDUS for placement in freshman level English or math. How to enroll Speak to the school counselor or principal to begin the process of enrolling in this course. Each course (Eng/Writing and Math) take one semester to complete. If your child would need to complete both courses it will take the entire year. These courses are counted as credits at EHS.
