Landscape evanescence is the research of a geographical absolute where to contemplate the errant human desire to always have certainties; either they are emotions, ideals or values. It translates into preferring small elements that compose our whole instead of showing a complete point of view; minimal details that reveal how it is possible to identify recognizable and repeatable structures everywhere. It’s an essential photo where color, form, and space create a setting without any reference, yet captivating and profound. These pictures become a metaphysical landscape, which crosses all the traditional geographical places, with the evocative intent to create a universal ‘where’, a specific place that represents each place. They want to give an answer to the need to find some constant points of reference in life, showing spaces that welcome this craving and presenting a visible order where to identify the desire to be psychologically anchored. This need is what leads us to look for common meanings underlying the search of the meaning of our existence.

BIOGRAPHY

26

Andrea Vicentini (1975 Trento) is a photographer entirely self-taught through a continuous crescendo of stylistic discoveries and formal experiments. In the age of digital photography, with an important investment on technological knowledge, he decides to bet on the process which leads the snapshot to become a tangible photo to personally follow all the stages of the creation. In 2011 a journey to Australia marks his passage from photography as a form of personal documentation to photography as a form of wider communication. In 2012 the success of his first solo exhibition Argini Variabili made him a recognised artistic photographer and his photos start to appeal to a larger audience. He was invited to leave a trace of his photographic style in the ADAC archives of MART museum. The year 2013 marks a further evolution in his

photographic experience. The first appearance in world of art makes him feel the weight of the photographic value of both past and contemporary artists. This leads to the need to give deeper meanings to his shots, resulting from introspective and personal research. As a result La Finta Nonna is a photo-retelling of the story of Little Red Riding Hood, where human beings are questioned in their existential dimension and in their relationship with temptation, in an abstract view with slightly dark notes. In 2014 with the series Disallineamenti he analyses the presence of mismatches between the person and personality. His latest project, Landscape Evanescence is the research of a geographical absolute where to contemplate the errant human desire to always have certainties; either they are emotions, ideals or values.
