BACKGROUND Mangkubumi street is one of the commercial district in Yogyakarta. Primarily intended for ofces, accommodation (hotel and lodging), shops, restaurants and business services. There is also Tugu Railway Station as the main train station in Yogyakarta. Since there are many commercial buildings on the street and is located as a path passed by many foreign tourists, this area counted dense and crowded. It takes a broader view for hotel visitors to avoid the crowd of the city.

Connection and access needs to be an integrated mass.

Alternative mass designs so that the building does not look massive.

A hotel built to provide serenity and comfort for visitors in it by focusing the main entertainment view to the center of the building.

4 Dynamicization mass as aesthetic elements, shading, and noise lters.

The design approach is to install a secondary skin on the facade of the building so that the front wall is thicker and can lter out noise from the outside.

Crowd and density in the center of the city.

PARANG SUBDISTRICT OFFICE

9

Taken from the name of Batik Parang. Batik Parang itself means 'unbroken tangle' and describe power. Meant that the Ngampilan District Ofď€ ce can function in addition to an administrative necessity but also as a liaison between the government and society in channeling the people's aspirations. Front and rear give the impression of 'welcome' to anyone, meaning even if the position of the district ofď€ ce site blocking the commercial and resident property area physically, people still do not feel 'covered'.

APARTMENT (BIM) by REVIT

A design apartment used as practical exercises using the software Revit for BIM course.

13

The initial concept was taken from the shape of jellyď€ sh in the sea. Curve is the main form that was adopted from it, then applied to the form of the building. Like the waves formed by the collision of counter ow of water. Shape of the building like the deck of a cruise ship sailing on the ocean. The balcony gives access to a 360-degree view around the building.

BLOCKER GUEST HOUSE

The main principle of this guest house is the use of elements of surprise experienced by visitors from the initial impression of the building's facade to the inside and then see the view of the river and the building as a stairway down that follow the contours of the site. The facade of the building is dominated by natural stone materials and minimal openings, causing a sense of curiosity to enter. Once entering into the lobby there will be a great view of the river and trees. Surprise effect is also supported by the entr y position that turned out to be on the 3rd oor the building.

14

PERSPECTIVE

15

GRHA 1 UNIT COMPLEX HOUSE

A residential unit with 7x13 meters area of site, facing west. Inhabited by a family with two children. Since this is a residential house, the main concept of the design of this house is its orientation centered on the family room. Applied with every room in the house has a door facing toward the family room. So the ď€ rst view after exiting the room is the view of the family that gathered around. The goal is to make the family closer.

16

BIBLIOTHEKA PUBLIC LIBRARY

17

The main focus of the concept is playing with scale and proportion. Shown at the height of the front main room ceiling to the back of the building so that it brings out the impression of "go into the wider space" as a metaphor of the "reading a book will open a more extensive knowledge". The formation of oor plan use the ratio of 2:3 by Andrea Palladio. The use of these ratios are applied in three main rooms in the library, the reading and collection room, lobby and study room.

Lil Garden RESTAURANT

The restaurant's name describes the design concept which is providing little garden view and atmosphere. The approach is to maximize the visibility of visitors (particularly those in the room) to the outdoors. There are several types of plants as a supporter of the concept. Another attempt is to enlarge the size of the window for the circulation of light and make the rooms seem more spacious.

18

SHELLY GUARD HOUSE

Guard House Shelly uses the analogy concept of turtle shell that protects the underneath.

19

It’s site is in the middle of the intersection, so 360 degrees view is the design priority. On the back is given an additional area with differences in slope of the roof so there is an additional space to sit and look around.

TIRTA JIWANTA WATER THEME PARK In collaboration with

Derived from Sanskrit, Tirta means water and Jiwanta means peace of life. Tirta Jiwanta is a theme park that emphasizes the element of water as a stress relief therapy.

Edwin Salim Muhammad Nu’man Muttaqi Annisa Nastiti

BACKGROUND To respond to the issue of the high level of stress of urban communities, water theme park design maximizes the potential of water as a refreshing and stress relieve element . This water theme park will be the resting place of the endless everyday dynamics boredom of Bandung city.

The concept of Tirta Jiwanta is disparting action zone with contemplation zone. Both of these will be bridged by a neutral zone, the transition zone.

CONCEPT ACTION ZONE

TRANSITION ZONE

Pleasant and refreshing space to help relieving stress

CONTEMPLATION ZONE

DESIGN VISION Water theme park as

The action zone facilitate the activities of active visitors. In this zone there is a 3 meters-deep retention ponds that equipped with water installations.

The transition zone as a meeting point between the action zone and contemplation zone, a neutral zone connecting the two other zones, where the main visitor socialize with each other more intensely than when they are in the zone of action and contemplation .

The contemplation zone facilitate the activities of visitors that are static. One of the tips to relieve stress is to be in a quiet environment. Thus one part of the Tirta Jiwanta Park provides a place for contemplation and meditation, allowing the visitors immersed in their own thoughts.

In collaboration with

CAFÉ

Ahmad Jad Al Maula Muhammad Nu’man Muttaqi

Research that says the green of vegetation can increase work productivity and learning, becomes a preliminary basis of Cafe Co.Bis design concept that makes college students as the main target.

Co.Bis

The presence of several trees on the site and the main principles of the design for not cutting any tree, supporting the initial idea and makes the vegetation as the main factors that determine the design. So it is expected that this cafe can be a place for relaxation and nd inspiration with the provision of lush greenery and trees that already exist contextually.

eco bistro

26

BACKGROUND The problems that exist for students today, are feeling too fed up to go straight home or boarding house because it requires a new atmosphere is closed from the city crowd to nd inspiration in doing the task or just to relax and are looking for relaxation. A research has shown that if a class has a view of green vegetation and trees, the learning outcomes of students who study in it is better than the usual classroom.Based on these studies and common problems felt by students today, we design a Brasserie Cafe that provides food, drink, free wi , also provides an green atmosphere with the aim to improve the productivity of its visitors. It is expected this can become a place to escape for the those who need a place to do the work.

DESIGN TRANSFORMATION

27

Forms began as a cube that is placed on the western part of the site, the eastern part used as a parking lot.

The cube cut in a circular shape on the front as the tree grows in middle of the site.

Western side of the cube expanded following the shape in western site, become an additional area for outdoor dining area.

To multiply the capacity of visitors and maximize existing building oor coefcient, oor is improved.

MATERIAL

FLOOR PLAN - ELEVATION - SECTION

MEMBRANE The use of membranes as roof cover material can transmit light indirectly and creates the impression of lightweight building. NATURAL STONE The use of natural stone aims to get an impression of nature as well as making partition but not a massive one. WOOD Wood is the dominant material that we use in the design, in order to get a quiet atmosphere.

2nd oor plan

GLASS The use of this material aims to make consumers feel more spacious and also attract consumers from outside. CONCRETE Concrete as the main structure is exposed so it felt blends with the natural atmosphere of the cafe.

VINES In addition for utilizing horizontal land for green space, we also maximize the vertical space as green space. GRASS The grass under the table besides as biopori also provides natural impression on consumers who were sitting in that place. GYNERIUM This indoor plant has a primary function as a partition, but as a natural and not the massive one . CAMBODIA Frangipani become a sweetener in this cafe interior and also the plant is one of Bali characteristics.

THALIA GENICULATA These plants good as a partition and has a strong natural impression.

THE Stage BUS STOP

In collaboration with Edwin Salim Fitha Aulia

29

Wayang kulit is one of the special characteristics of Semarang city, which until now still last, despite getting fewer fans. We saw an opportunity to inculcate the potential identity of Semarang city in the form of a puppet in the design of Trans Semarang Bus Stops. The stop is located on the side of the road and will be close to the public for everyday use. With the concept design of puppets, people are expected to get closer to local identity and appreciate the art of puppet.
