The Friendly Experts
The Perfect Location
Of the many places in the UK for watersports, Poole Harbour offers possibly the safest and most idyllic location, offering a secure and happy setting for children to experience a residential trip away from home. With tens of square miles of shallow, sheltered water and with the Purbeck hills as a backdrop, the island-dotted harbour offers a beautiful and challenging environment for beginners and experienced sailors alike.
Recognised Qualifications
As an RYA (Royal Yachting Association) recognised training centre and approved activity provider of the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, pupils can now put their boating achievements towards a bronze, silver or gold award and complete the residential sections of the award. Pupils can also be encouraged to set goals in order to gain certification in the RYA national sailing or windsurfing scheme as well as increasing their knowledge in such areas as meteorology.

Your Time off the Water
We have a full programme of things to do after the sailing day is over to keep even the most energetic and enthusiastic young person entertained. After dinner activities can include anything from beach games to a beach bbq. For the more energetic amongst you, you can explore the local area by taking one of the many cycle tracks that lead directly from the centre or take to the trees and test your nerves at one of the local high ropes activity centres. A short 15 minute drive will take you to the small town of Vieux-Boucau. With its good surf and range of bars and restaurants, Vieux-Boucau is a great place to relax and enjoy a well deserved chilled drink! A bit further afield is the beautiful beach town of Hossegor. Junior Sailing Club (5-7 years)
This is an ideal course for children aged 5-7 years old, too young to join our RYA courses, but keen to get out on the water and have loads of fun. They will spend the week under the watchful eyes of our fully qualified RYA instructors. When not on the water, youngsters will enjoy fun land-based games in and around the water, enabling the children to gain water confidence in preparation for them participating in a RYA course in the future.
Beginner Sailing Courses (8+ years)
Sailing at AzuRivage offers the perfect location and environment to get to grips with the basics of sailing. Our instructors will soon have you all sailing independently and having fun along the way.

Our main activities are based around RYA (Royal Yachting Association) courses in dinghy sailing and windsurfing. Dinghy sailing especially is suitable for all ages and abilities from the youngest members of your family to mums, dads and grandparents and from beginner to experienced level.
Family Holidays - France
The Choice is Yours
A 5-day course is a great way to learn a new skill and make new friends. Don’t worry if you are not particularly sporty or have never sailed before, as sailing is taught in different types of dinghies suitable for different ages and abilities. From as young as 5, children can take to the waters and try something new and exciting. With instructors specifically chosen for their ability to instill a sense of fun in to all their activity sessions, you will be amazed how quickly children progress and learn in such a safe and enjoyable environment as we have at AzuRivage.
Improver Sailing Courses (8-16 years) Having mastered the basics, the improver course for Junior and Youth sailors offers the opportunity to further develop skills. This course focuses on getting to grips with sailing crewed boats. The gentle breeze in the morning allows for perfect conditions to build confidence and practice in a safe environment, ready for more challenging conditions in the afternoon.
Intermediate Sailing Courses (8+ years) This course is suitable for Junior, Youth and Adult sailors who can sail around a triangular course independently and improves your problem solving skills afloat. The course covers seamanship skills and offers a gentle introduction to sailing with spinnakers. A perfect course for the recreational or club sailor.

Sailing Plus
Aimed at more experienced Youth and Adult sailors, our 5-day Sailing Plus course consists of multiple skill development clinics. Each session is managed to ensure every sailor achieves the maximum possible from the course and focuses on how to carry on improving whilst free sailing. With clinics covering a number of differing techniques we aim to use a variety of boats over the course of the week to ensure the best combination of skills training. The beauty of the Sailing Plus programme is that with each clinic focusing on a different topic, you can pick and choose your clinic sessions to tailor your own week. We recommend that all sailors taking part in the Sailing Plus course are of an intermediate standard at the start of the week.

We need to know about any medication that you are taking or physical disabilities that you may have. Students (<18yrs) For students under 18 years of age we are authorised to act for the child according to our best judgement in any emergency situation requiring medical attention and to act in the place of the parents in an accident or other situation demanding an immediate decision. Arrival and Departure Our Rockley Chalet Tents are available from 1600 on the Sunday of your arrival. Please aim to arrive at the campsite between 1600 and 1900 - a member of our staff will meet you. On arrival you will need to go to the campsite reception and obtain a barrier code. The campsite barriers are locked at 2300 - if you arrive after 2300, you will have to leave your car outside. You are requested to vacate your accommodation by 1000 on your day of departure. Extra Charges A 3-day sailing course can be extended to a 5-day course, subject to availability, for a supplement of £100. We host a number of social events throughout your holiday. Facilities We try to be as accurate as possible with regards to the availability and opening times of the facilities available on the campsite. However, due to circumstances beyond our control i.e. weather, time of year, local regulations or demand, some facilities may not be available.
Campsite Rules We ask that all our customers comply with the rules set out by AzuRivage for the enjoyment of all our customers and other users of the campsite and its facilities.
First Aid Our centre has first aid boxes. All our main safety boats carry a first aid kit and radio. All our instructors hold a valid First Aid certificate and attend a health and safety induction when joining the Company.
Entertainment & Other Sporting Activities AzuRivage organises its own evening entertainment programmes throughout the high season, such as cabaret performances, which is generally open until late. Daytime programmes including sporting activities can be booked at the campsite reception. Local Activities There are numerous restaurants situated in the smaller and larger nearby towns and villages that will allow you to sample the local french cuisine as well as discovering some beautiful places to visit and explore. For advice and recommendations, please ask any of the Rockley Watersports staff. We also recommend that you visit any of the local or regional festivals or events.
