Auto CAD

One of the first AutoCAD’s created in the 80’s. Capable of zooming in by scrolling the middle part of the mouse.

Use acadiso.dwt when you start drawing

Always close snap and grid in snap setting (unless needed)

Snap setting- object snap- select all- untick nearest

To select just the middle part in the boxes, left hand click on the left side and drag it.

To select left hand click, green/blue highlight will appear

Moving objects (M- space bar) Press space once this appears

Move the object to where you want it to be, make sure to connect it to the other end point to avoid any gaps/ misplacements.

To move object with a distance: Select a certain area

M- SPACE BAR Type in the distance needed here and press space

Rotating objects (RO- SPACE) Press CTRL- RIGHT CLICK and go to osnap settings> polar tracking> switch on polar tracking and select an angle

Move the boxes to be straight, green line indicates every 15 degree angle.

Offset (O – SPACE) Allows you to copy lines/shape4s within a specified distance

Press space

Specify the second distance point (ex: 500) and press space

Mirror tool (Mi- SPACE) 1. Select the area/shape you want to mirror

4. Rotate it to a 90o angle

5. Press No when asked to delete the source

Fillit tool (F – SPACE) •

Connects lines unless they are parallel

When u press the tool’s shortcut, it will ask u to select two lines you would like to connect. After that, press space and the lines will be connected.

You can round off some edges by: Select the fillet tool, press on radius

Type in the distance of the radius (ex: 200)

Select two lines and press space

Layers

Open layer properties (LA-SPACE)

Freeze – like turning a layer off. Deletes the data Line type – provides different line ranges. Used for details Line weight – thickness of the line Transparency – lightens the saturation value of the colours

Once the layers have been created, you can access them here. When you highlight an object and choose a layer, the object will take on the properties of the chosen layer.

1. Press AR – SPACE, select the object 2. Press space after selecting the object, then press polar 3. Specify the centre point

To duplicate: Press AR, then select both objects

After selecting the objects, press space – rectangular and a row will appear
