Experience Cuba like a Native Enjoy your Complementary Travel Guide for this Trip March 6th through March 13th, 2016


On the day of the trip we will be meeting at: Miami International Airport at 4:00 a.m. For those of you who need to leave your car at the airport, extended parking is: $12.00 per day Our flight leaves Miami at: 7:30 a.m. We will arrive at Havana Airport at: 8:30 a.m. The average temperature at this time of the year is: 80’s during the day and 60’s at night


What to bring suggestions: • • • • • • • • • • •

Comfortable clothing (preferably light materials like cotton) and shoes (sandals or sneakers) that will maximize your comfort during car trips and walking excursions A couple of changes of evening clothing for special occasions A light sweater for evenings An umbrella A sun hat or cap Sunglasses Sunscreen Mosquito repellant All prescription medicine (including contact lenses solution) First aid bag with band aids, first aid cream, headache medication… Cuba Travel will provide you with the airline tickets and visas at the terminal (don’t forget to take proper ID, such as: passport Bottled water (if you are able to squeeze it into your bag) Camera or cell phone for taking photographs

• • • There is no internet connection available on the island, a fact that may delight some of you and terrify others; but keep in mind that perhaps for the first time in a long time you will be free to truly enjoy your time without the urge of disconnecting from the real world in order to connect to the virtual one. You will experience a very refreshing “mental cleansing” that will revitalize and re-connect you to the now and to the world around you and all the things in it.


During our visit we will explore the following places, and enjoy the following adventures: • •

Daily breakfast interaction with local friends at Santa Maria del Mar Daily trips to Havana and vicinities to capture & experience: “El Cañonazo de las 9 p.m.” (The daily cannon blast at 9 p.m.) at “El Morro”, where we will have a firsthand encounter with the military representation of a time gone-by Walking Tours of Havana to visit and enjoy: La Plaza de La Catedral La Catedral de la Havana All of the Colonial buildings in this UNESCO World Heritage Site Parque Central Obispo Street Saint Francis Abbey (and the book market) Callejon de Hamel (Afro-Cuban Religion area) Casual walks through the cobblestone streets of Old Havana Museo de La Revolucion (those not interested in visiting this site, can enjoy a coffee at one of the local spots) Plaza de La Revolucion Fun Stops at El Floridita La Bodeguita del Medio Rum Museum Some of the local breweries Engage some of the off-the-beaten- path unique shopping Pay a visit to Mercado San Jose Take a fun ride in the Vintage vehicles to visit Jose Fuster’s art studio, and his mosaic “city” Ride down Embassy row (while we would love to stop and see the area, we have to abide by their speed limit) Ride down beautiful Malecon on the way to visit the famous Hotel Nacional (a favorite stop) Take a look at the US Embassy Building (no stopping permitted)

Tobacco plantation tour and explanation of the famous Cuban cigar leaves by a biologist

Visit to the Indian Cave (enjoy a cold and refreshing local cocktail during the stay)

Picture-taking and visit to the faux prehistoric mural painting of the Valley

If we are still there in the evening , we will enjoy the local creole party (Calle Salvador CisnerosCentral Plaza)


There are a number of other locations that we will touch on while visiting Cuba to expose our tours to some very individual and personalized experiences. We have been invited to a traditional Cuban birthday celebration and pig roast. The celebration lasts about 8 hours! We will also dine with locals in their homes at Paladares, play dominos, and engage in lively, long conversations Your Cuba Travel promises that you will be deeply touched by this life-changing experience and education.
