Everything started when I was looking for a consultation for my bridal makeup. The beauty consultant asked me if I wanted to do a side job with Mary Kay. But at the time, I felt that I definitely didn’t have time for that. I worked as a nurse in a 3-shift cycle, had a part-time job in a butcher’s shop and was a server at a restaurant.

The consultant later approached me again and talked to me about the business opportunity but I declined again. I didn’t actually say NO to Mary Kay - I said NO to myself all the time because I could not imagine me doinmg anything like that and did not believe in myself.

But I still decided to attended a unit meeting. AII the women there were so nice, they were having so much fun -the atmosphere there was amazing. I took the company brochure home and I wasjust overall excited and felt butterflies in my stomach. That night I toly my hsuband, “I’m going to change my career.” After many conversations and transparent information about the opportunities with Mary Kay, I signed the agreement and started my business. I reduced my hours at the hospital, took on a lot of night shifts and worked my Mary Kay business on the side.

MY LIFE CHANGED STEP BY STEP AND I STARTED TO SEE A SUCCESSFUL FUTURE. With that success came beautiful trips. I qualified for the use of a Mercedes and was so excited about all that I could achieve through my diligence and hard work. I had never experienced anything like it before! It all started when I was invited to a beauty evening by a good friend. I enjoyed it very much and immediately thought to myself – this would be a fun thing for me to do!

A few weeks later, I started my own business. When the starter kit arrived, it was like Christmas for me. I told all my friends and coworkers about the great products. And so within a short time, all my friends were happily stocked up on Mary Kay products. I ran my Mary Kay business for 6 years as a hobby alongside my full-time office job.

I’S GREAT TO BE ABLE TO EARN MONEY AND HAVE SO MUCH FUN AT THE SAME TIME.

I got my favorite products at great prices and was able to pay for wonderful trips. When I became a mom, I had to choose – stick with my part-time office job (no flexible hours, not so great salary, not so cool job) and no time left for Mary Kay or Mary Kay part-time business (great pay, flexible hours, fun work, and so much more). It was immediately clear to me: I did not want to give up my Mary Kay business, because after all these years I had also built a great customer base. I put all my eggs in one basket and decided to quit my job at the office and, after a 6-month baby break, to really get started with my Mary Kay business.

All beginnings are hard and it really was not easy to get everything done. However, to this day my motto is:

OUTGROW YOURSELF EVERY DAY.

I overcame my inner obstacles, kept going and today I am very proud to be an entrepreneur and have my own business. The best thing is that I can combine work and family in harmony. I am a mother of two now and my older daughter likes to help unpack my orders or clean the brushes and she loves the fact that I can work my beauty business from home. My little son is also curious – he thinks the bubble wrap is more interesting than the products (laughs). We all enjoy that I am home a lot. It is great that I am independent now with flexible hours and plenty of time for my family –and I earn my own money, I didn’t have to pick one thing or the other! The best thing for me is that I am part of such a positive community and a company that really appreciates people. It’s all successful women who support each other so that each one of them can be successful – in her own way.

I got to know Mary Kay for the first time at a beauty party when I was 20 years old. That evening I fell head over heels in love with the products. It was clear to me that I wanted to get up and go to bed with my skin feeling like this every day. At that time, I studied fashion and retail management and was keeping my head above water with mini-jobs. After my first beauty night, I arranged to meet the friend who invited me for an info session about a Mary Kay business. I’m so glad I just kept an open mind and my curiosity, because that conversation changed everything: I quit my mini-job and made the same money in half the time with my Mary Kay business. I was able to finish my degree within the standard period of study and treat myself to luxuries like a Thermomix or a trip to Miami. When I finished my studies, I knew I wanted a Mary Kay career.

They said things like: “Maybe other people can, but you can’t do it …“, or: “Don’t you want to get a real job?” However, success quickly proved me right and I am very pleased with what I have already achieved at the age of 26. I have become a real networker! It’s great that I can do my work as an “influencer“, so to speak. I love to share about my job, my lifestyle and my enthusiasm about beauty products on Instagram and giving helping other women feel good about themselves is really nice and the coolest thing about my job. And on top of that, I earn money – for me it’s really a dream come true. I love it. And today, everyone tells me that it’s exactly my thing.

FOR ME, THERE IS JUST ONE DISADVANTAGE … … if you love and live your job with every cell of your body like I do, sometimes it’s hard to switch off.
