Letter From The Editor
Dear Readers,
As the Earth tilts its northern pole towards the sun, we approach the Summer Solstice – and the burst of color and life that warmth and sunshine brings along with it. As we drift into these next few months, we hope you enjoy leisurely days spent with friends and family, and potentially near or distant travel. If you need some ideas about where to go, in this edition we’re exploring cannabis culture from a global perspective, so you may be inspired.
To us here at the magazine, travel is more than getting to see new places. It’s immersing yourself in an experience that encourages growth. Travel allows us to expand our minds, learn, and embrace things that may be foreign to us. To summarize a quote by Samuel Clemens, “Broad, wholesome, charitable thoughts cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.” ln the following pages, you will read about the slow road towards acceptance of legal cannabis in the United Kingdom by Dave Barton. On pages 15-25, we explore the sprawling landscape of Montana and its vibrant cannabis community, as detailed in our main feature by our favorite traveling cannabis writer, Veronica Castillo.
This June, we get acquainted with new cities and cultures in articles by our newest contributors. You'll learn about the weed scene in Saigon, Vietnam, written by Dominic Vega. We spend 36 hours in New York City with Hannah Gershowitz, and consider France’s cultural influence on cannabis by Kristine Freeman.
Prepare yourself a refreshing infused Lemon Drop Martini in a recipe by Tamara Anderson, while you read about Renae Blackhall and her cannabis company Summus in the Caribbean island of St. Vincent & the Grenadines. If you catch the travel bug while reading, follow its lead to your next destination. We’ll meet you there, joint in hand.
