DOING THE by: Dr. James Jones John 14:12 “Verily, Verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my father.” Jesus emphasized this by saying “Verily, verily I say unto you.” It was as if we would say today, “I swear to tell the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth so help me God.”

John 14:12 – “Verily, Verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my father.” January 27, 1973, I received the baptism of the Holy Spirit at a Full Gospel Business Men’s meeting in Pittsburgh, Kansas. Needless to say, it changed my life in every area.

It was many years before I found the key to this wonderful Scripture in Matthew 9:35. “Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. You see all along I thought the healings and miracles were the works of Jesus. But when I saw this I realized that the works of

were the teachings and preaching and the results were the healings. So, if I were going to do the works of Jesus I must first of all be a teacher and preacher of the Gospel. Why is that? It is because God works with and confirms His Word with signs following. You see this in Mark 16:20, “And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the Word with signs following.” The thing that I had missed in the ministry of Jesus is that He put teaching and preaching first. Last of all He healed the sick. Jesus was first and foremost a preacher and teacher of the Gospel. Jesus preached to the lost and taught the believers. Every pastor must be a teacher to the believer because it is through the teaching of the Word that faith comes. In the past few years we have seen some short

JESUS moves of God that were labeled revival. I remember one of the last ones that we had; I won’t mention where it took place. People were calling me, telling me about all the miracles that were taking place. I pulled it up on the computer; they had just started the song service that lasted for almost two hours. All that I can say about it was that it was loud, with no anointing. Then there were a few people that were supposedly healed. The sad part about it all was, the platform was full of preachers and not one of them in the whole place had a Bible. There was no teaching, and there was no preaching. My brother, sister, you can’t have a revival, nor can you have signs and wonders and miracles without the Word of God. Jesus went about teaching and preaching, and the results of His teaching and preaching was: The lost

were saved, there were healings, and miracles. You see, the thing we have missed in the ministry of Jesus is that He put teaching and preaching first. Last of all he healed the sick. God works with, and confirms His Word with signs following. Jesus is our example. If we do what He did we will get the same results that He got when He ministered. As I begin to study the works

of Jesus, it came to my attention that if I do what Jesus did, I should get the same results that He did. All I had to do was find out how He did it. So, I began to follow Him along the shores of Galilee and through the streets of Jerusalem. I watched Him as He opened the blind eyes and cleanse the lepers. Then I saw it! Jesus went about teaching and preaching, and healing. The number one way Jesus healed was through the teaching of the Word! Faith came by hearing the Word taught and the results were healings and miracles! Teaching and Preaching: Jesus didn’t heal anyone because He was the Son of God. He did it as a man anointed of God. In the 4th Chapter of the Book of Luke, Jesus defeated satan on the Mount of Temptation. Luke 4:16-18 “So He came to Nazareth, where He had been


brought up. And as His custom was He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and had opened the book, He found the place where it was written: The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised.” The first thing Jesus established at the beginning of His ministry was that he was anointed to preach the gospel. I believe that everywhere He went, the first thing He taught the multitudes was that He was anointed to teach, preach, and to heal. Acts 10:38 said how God anointed Jesus of

Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power who went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with Him. The good that He did was the teaching and preaching; and, the healings and miracles were the result of the Word that He taught. It is not wrong to put Jesus in a class by Himself. However, it is wrong to put His ministry in a class by itself. You see, Jesus never preached one sermon, healed one sick person, raised one dead person, calmed a storm, or walked on the water as the Son of God. He did it all, as a man anointed of God. Phil. 2:7-8 “But made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a

bond servant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.” Another translation says, “Stripped himself of His glory.” Another translation says, “Became like human beings.” You see when Jesus came to this earth He didn’t come as the Son of God; He came as a man, who was anointed of God. Our text said those who believe in me the works that I do they shall do also and greater works than these shall He do because I go unto my Father. On the day of Pentecost the same anointing that was on Jesus came on the church equipping and qualifying us to do the works of Jesus! Praise God!!



EMPOWERED by: Dr. Bill Hanshew 1 Corinthians 14:18-19 says, “18 I thank my God I speak with tongues more than you all; 19 yet in the church I would rather speak five words with my understanding, that I may teach others also, than ten thousand words in a tongue.” As Spirit-filled believers, we are accustomed to speaking or praying in tongues in our private time, which is a place most people call, the prayer closet. But also according to the teachings of the Bible, we are taught to pray in tongues in our public worship services. This is the place where many believers gather in unity, to worship God and pray in our heavenly prayer language, called tongues. In the 1500’s, Martin Luther referred to the practice of speaking in tongues as the ability to translate ones known language into another known language. Others of his time also had similar opinions on this same subject. We have learned that in the past, some groups believed that unknown tongues, were known languages that could be

learned. However, according to the Bible, this supernatural language is not known nor understood without the help and inspiration of the Holy Spirit. As the Apostle Paul speaks to the church and addresses both of these instances in 1 Corinthians chapter 14, he also talks about the operation of the gifts of the Spirit during public worship meetings. While it is important to understand that the act of speaking or praying in tongues is not really a mystery; we also need to know that it does take faith to embrace and open up ones heart and mind in this experience called, tongues. Now; if you said that tongues were primarily for use in our private prayer time, I would not disagree with you, in the since of its primary function. But one thing Paul does show us in this chapter is that we are not to avoid the use of tongues in our public worship services. And Paul does say that one important element in a public

worship service is that we teach people something from God’s Word that they can use in their everyday life. In other words, tongues for private prayer and worship are also valid for public or corporate prayer and worship. First of all, Jesus said in Mark 16:17, “And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;” which proves that speaking in tongues in a New Testament church is based on the will of God. And NO SCRIPTURE ANYWHERE says that tongues ceased with the Apostles or anything close to


THROUGH PRAYING IN TONGUES that. Tongues still serve a purpose in the church today. So what is the purpose of praying in tongues? 1 2 Corinthians 14:2-3 says, “ For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks 3 mysteries. But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men.” One might say; See there, when you speak in tongues, men only speak to God. That is true, but keep in mind that this is talking about praying in tongues in our private prayer time. Yet in the next verse Paul says, when we prophesy, we speak to men. The point is that prophesy is a product of praying in tongues. So the reality of praying in tongues is that if you pray in tongues, something useful to mankind’s understanding will come out of your mouth. And from these verses, we can see that when we pray in tongues, what comes out of our mouths should be a revealing of the mysteries of God. Yes,

speaking in tongues remains a God thing; which is why praying in tongues requires your faith to be in action. The parts one does not understand, require an act of faith to embrace. Next Paul says in 1 Corinthians 14:14-15, “14 For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful.15 What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding.” Once again Paul teaches that when you spend a lot of time praying in tongues, people are not benefited in their understanding. But following tongues comes something which flows out of your mouth that will benefit people’s understanding. This is one area where many other Christians become critical of Pentecostal, FullGospel or Charismatic tongue talking believers; which is how much we pray in tongues. It just does not seem to make

sense to them. But I will simply say the following for the sake of this lesson; I believe that praying in tongues, both privately and publically is extremely important. Yet no matter how much or long one group or the other seems to pray in tongues, we must never fail to communicate the gospel in a way that other are enriched in their understanding. Also notice that in Jude V.20, we are given insight as to why we should pray in tongues. Jude says, “But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit.” And yes, it does take an act of your faith to pray in a language that your understanding is not familiar with, on any level of a natural or psychological plain. You just cannot pray in tongues because you have a natural comprehension of any type of art of praying in tongues. You do it by faith, even with a natural understand of how praying in tongues builds you up.


The bottom line is this: We must never avoid the use of tongues in our private or public worship experiences. But also make sure that no matter how much we become energized from this experience of speaking or praying in tongues in our private time; that when we step out of a private place of ministering to the Lord; and into a public place of ministry; whether to an individual or a preacher stepping into a pulpit to

preach; we must make sure that we teach others how to apply this power that we have learned to tap into. This empowering from the Lord increases as we spend time in the Word and praying in the Spirit. And as the Apostle related how he thanked God that he spoke with tongues more than most; I like what he said in verse 19, “yet in the church I would rather speak five words with

my understanding, that I may teach others also, than ten thousand words in a tongue.� When we pray in tongues for both private and public purposes, we must remember that we have a responsibility to communicate the gospel in our natural language as well. ‌Think about it!


PRAY FOR THE NATIONS


by: Faye Hanshew I hear people say, “God is in control and He always knows what is for the best,” even if it means the death of a child; or they will say, “Whatever God’s will is, will be.” But they evidentially do not stop to think that God created us with a free will, and we must allow Jesus to be Lord of our lives before He is in control of situations that concern us.

This fact can be proven in Deuteronomy 30:19 (NLT,) which says, 19 “Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live!” And, in Genesis 2:15 it says, “15 The LORD God placed the man in the Garden of Eden to tend and watch over it. 16 But the LORD God warned him, “You may freely eat the fruit of

every tree in the garden— 17 except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. If you eat its fruit, you are sure to die.” We see in these verses that God gave man a choice as to whether he wanted to choose life or death by partaking in the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Next, we need to see who it is that really causes bad things to happen. Let’s look in The Voice Translation of John 10:10 (Verses 11-18 are also helpful to read.) “10 The thief approaches with malicious intent, looking to steal, slaughter, and destroy; I came to give life with joy and abundance.” In this passage, “The thief” approaches with malicious intent….who is the thief? Is it God? Some will say GOD is in control…so do they think God is also the thief? According to: STRONGS NT 2812: κλέπτης – The thief in this verse is an embezzler, pilferer. That certainly does not explain our God, so we understand it IS satan who is the thief.

Now look at the last part of v10 which tells us what Jesus had to say, “I GIVE LIFE WITH JOY AND ABUNDANCE!” Does it make a person happy if a family member loses their life in a car wreck, or if something happens to hurt their finances? Jesus would never do anything to hurt his children. According to 2 Thessalonians 3:3, “But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen and protect you from the evil one.” If the Lord says he will “protect” you, then why would He hurt you?


So how do we know that protection is for us? Jesus said in Luke 10:19, “19 I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy;nothing will harm you.” He would not give us this authority and expect us not to use it. 2 Timothy 1:7 says, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” Hebrews 13:5-6 says, “For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we may boldly say: “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” These scriptures clearly show us that we have nothing to fear, and that God will protect us. But then why is it we see Christians who seem not to have that protection on them? Let’s read Psalm 91:1-16 (If you have a computer, pull it up in The Voice Translation – I did not print it here because of space). Living under God’s shadow is the most protected or safe place in the universe. But it takes faith to stay there, and faith comes only from His Word! In the Gospels, the

Greek word for ‘salvation’ carries the meaning of ‘physical rescue from harm or danger.’ In Psalm 91, God’s salvation is likened to bodily protection. Actively live in Him and He will actively live over you. (Meaning, His protection will cover you.) Build this belief into your heart and enjoy this protection in your life. Believe this for you and your entire household. You who live in the shelter of the Most High, who spend your nights in the shadow of the Almighty, who say to the LORD, “My refuge! My fortress! My God, in whom I trust!” – He will rescue you from the trap of the hunter, and from the plague of disease, which is satan. And, He will cover you with His wings and there you will find refuge; His truth is a shield and a protection. You will not fear the horrors of night, or the arrow that flies by day, or the sickness that travels in the dark, or even the destruction that lays waste at noon. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it won’t come near you. But you MUST keep your eyes open, and you will see how the wicked are punished. For you have made the LORD, the Most High,

who is “my refuge,” your home or dwelling place. No disaster will happen to you, no calamity will come near your house; for He will order His angels to care of you and guard you wherever you go. They will carry you in their hands, so that you won’t trip on a stone. You will tread down lions and snakes, young lions and serpents you will trample underfoot. “Because he loves Me, I will rescue him; because he knows My Name, I will protect him. He will call upon Me, and I will answer him. I will be with him when he is in trouble. I will rescue him and bring him honor. I will satisfy him with long life and show him My salvation.” Psalm 91:14-16 (The Voice) I do believe God gave us common sense. If we see a train coming and we have the ability to get out of the way, we should. Or if we go into a


foreign country where a deadly disease is flowing rapidly, we should take precautions. We are admonished in the Bible to be wise, diligent, and to seek counselors if need be in order to do the absolute best we can with what we have. However, there is always a gap

between our very best and the totality of what is necessary to insure success and victory. That gap can only be filled with the grace of God. When we lay our heads down to sleep, when we have done all that we know to do, we

must trust in the faithfulness and power of God for the absolute guarantee of protection and blessing. We are not to trust in our actions, but rather, in the promises and work of God Almighty. He alone can, and has, guaranteed to us the victory!



by: Chef Leo and Wifey Cat After returning from Worship today it was great having another “Sonday.” A day that had Jesus as a bigger focus. And as my wife and I were praying that every day would be a “Sonday”….For as Jesus is the reason we live and our relationship becomes synergy of Living our lives by the Life of another…that is Jesus in our hearts. We were amazed that in worship I felt Him there with us (the two or more) doing what He must have loved doing and that was Worshiping His Father. Jesus told us to consider God “Our” Father…He created us all…Amen? Now through His perspective we see God as Our Father and as a child looks up to Him in a Love that transcens all our earthly definition of Love. We also do as us humans are wont to do Imitate our Parents…As it is a true saying “Children are not real good at listening to their parents…but they never fail to imitate them”. And as my wife and I talked about that we know how true it is also that our relationships with our biological fathers often directly affect our relationship with God, the Father. Sadly a bad earthly relationship can adversely affect how we interact with Our Heavenly Father who we know is Love! A song by Harry Chapin came to my mind…After that Cat posted a devo on the word Imitate, and I did a post on The Masters Apprentice the Christian Chefs International Blog called “Our Father…Daddy!” Oddly Godly they work together…Just as the Holy Spirit planned it. ;). All things working together I humbly submit our “Tag Team’ approach to a message we feel Our Father would have us share… I humbly submit these for you all to be encouraged, edified, educated…and most of all…Fed!

This song has a sad and melancholy rendition of a life not lived to its fullness by celebrating the relationship of Father and Child…Take heed…be vigilant and stay focused , and stand firm in your relationship with Jesus…that will clear the wayfor a full relationship with Our Father…

Allow me to introduce my wife Cathy, we all call her Cat! She is my Holy Spirit wife and great reminder and refocuser on what’s important. She also posts a daily devotional on Facebook. Here is her contribution to the conversation and ponderings on the subject of Sonship, and Imitation… Ephesians 5:1-2 “Watch what God does, and then you do it, like children who learn proper behavior from their parents. Mostly what God does is love you. Keep company with him and learn a life of love. Observe how Christ loved us. His love was not cautious but extravagant. He didn’t love in order to get something from us but to give everything of himself to us. Love like that.” We are taught in this scripture to be imitators of God. So however God is, that is the way we should desire to be. God sees the desires of our hearts and will help us

become more and more like Him in our behaviors. Do you think God is sitting in the heavens today angry and crying and depressed? NO WAY! That is not God's nature. God is joyful and He is strong: that’s why we should imitate Him. God is also merciful and slow to anger. If you get angry at family, friends, and people over something that bothered, you hurt you, or upset you, one way to get over it is to imitate God and choose to give them mercy-forgive them even if you don't think they deserve it. We can become more and more like God because His power and character is in us. Begin to imitate God in your life, doing what you believe He would do in situations, instead of what you feel like doing.

And thanks to Dr. G. David Boyd who confirmed and wrote about the same thing.… Got to love the Holy Spirit! Imitate reminds me that…Just as a child wants to grow up just like their Dad....this speaks to the essence of that relationship in a paradigm that we can totally understand ...Family! Even in its imperfect states ...dysfunctional

perhaps, unique definitely, bad, good...and as individual as we are... so is our relationship with Our Father. Jesus, The Son, reminds us in the parable of the Prodigal…that as a Daddy, God will always seeks us to return if we have “left” the relationship and turn His affections toward us and respond to the attention we give Him. Like a child who wanting attention for something they did they may yell out...“Daddy, Look at me! Come See What I did!” And although, yes Daddy has other things he is doing (so many kids you know) He will always "drop everything" and respond to us...and the work we do when we put it into His hands, with His perspective, His plans, and His perfect Will. Father and child have something in Common… As Cat said “God is joyful” and as He rejoices over His creation (despite all the many times His human creation has given Him fits) He still loves us always has always will…and so Hi Ho Hi Ho its off to work we go! There is joy in work. There is joy in production. There are times that we can look at what


we do and say, “Daddy, come see what I did!?” As human love and relationships, and community…and Praising God! However, we were also designed for work and creativity. Vocation is the process by which we find a role in the world where we can do work in which the Father is pleased. This work is not limited to our service for the church. This work is not limited to being a pastor, priest, or church worker. The Father is not more pleased by pastor than the Cook, Chef, Server, or Dishwasher. Work is using our gifts and talents…ultimately for

His Glory and for His Glory to pour out from us into the place He “placed” us… There are times when I want to go to my Father and say, “Daddy, come see my work.” Now much of the time it is to ask for help about it. I want Him to share in my joy. I want Him to be delighted in me as His child. I want to be united with Him and His plans, in His perfect Will. As we imitate Him working out His perfect plan, in His perfect Will I feel like I am helping…And He Loves that about us…guiding us into the Way…the real Way …the True Way. IN the seeking we find

the goal…IN the seeking we find affirmation…IN the seeking we find …each other… Find that connection today with your Father. Ask your Heavenly Father…Ask Daddy to come and see your work. If it is in His Will it will be all right. Rock and Roll Sistren and Brethren! Have a wonderful Sonday each and every day! Jesus is the Rock….and We Roll! Chef Leo and Wifey Cat.

CHOCOLATE MOUSSE Ingredients: 6 OZ BITTERSWEET CHOCOLATE FINELY CHOPPED 1/3 C WHOLE MILK 1 LARGE EGG YOLK 4 LG EGG WHITES 2 T SUGAR

Method: MELT CHOCOLATE OVER SIMMERING WATER. TRANSFER TO BOWL TO HOLD ALL INGREDIENTS. KEEP CHOCOLATE ON COUNTER TILLNEEDED WARM TO TOUCH. BRING MILK JUST TO BOIL. POUR OVER CHOCOLATE. USING SMALL WHISK GENTLY BLEND MILK INTO CHOCOLATE. ADD YOLK AND WHISK INTO CHOCOLATE GENTLY. STOP WHEN INCORPORATED. MIXER W/ WHISK BEAT WHITES ON MED JUST UNTIL SOFT PEAKS. INCREASE TO MED/HIGH AND GRADUALLY ADD SUGAR. CONTINUE TO BEAT WHITES UNTIL FIRM BUT STILL GLOSSY. SCOOP 1/3 WHITES INTO CHOCOLATE MIXTURE. WORKING WITH A WHISK WORK WHITES INTO CHOCOLATE TO LIGHTEN MIXTURE. NOW WITH SPAT FOLD IN THE BEATEN WHITES INTO CHOCOLATE GENTLY THOROUGHLY. BE TRANSFORMED by: Pastor Kim Miller 2 Corinthians 5:17 “If any man be in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away, behold all things have become new.” We are a new creation when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. The Holy Spirit makes us brand new; that is His part. In order to live like the new creation that He has made us, we have to do our part. A new creation is who we are on the inside, but we have to live that on the outside. What is our part and how do we do that? Romans 12:2 “Be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, acceptable, and perfect will of God.” What is the will of God? The will of God is the Word of God. We can't separate the two. If we want to know the will of God, we must know the Word of God. How do we renew our minds? We renew our minds with the Word of God. Our spirits are born again, or a new creation, but our minds are not. We must study God's Word, think about it, and speak it. We must get into God's Word, find out what it says, and believe it. Throughout the years, I have known of many believers who have become condoning and accepting of sin. We are to love everyone,

but we are not to accept sin as something to take lightly or something to purposefully engage in. If something is against God's Word, we are to be against it, too. Joshua 1:8 “This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do all that is written in it; for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” You see, God isn't responsible for our success. He has already done everything for us to succeed. Now, it's up to us to take His Word and walk in that success. Know God's Word, believe God's Word, speak God's Word, and do God's Word. Be transformed!


By: Dan Corse Imagine if we came upon a person who was whacking his or her hand with a hammer, then crying out in pain after each blow. Surely, if he or she asked us for advice as to how to stop the pain we would make it clear, “Quit hitting yourself with the hammer!” Upon hearing our advice we would then expect the person to stop wielding the hammer against his or her flesh. However, if he or she again began to rain down blows on his or her hand we would rightfully conclude that something was amiss with this person as such self-destructive behavior is not indicative of sound mental health. Yet, if he or she cried out for our advice again, based on our love for others and our desire to alleviate their pain we might repeat our former counsel, perhaps a bit more emphatically, “Quit hitting yourself with the hammer!!!” Hopefully, the person would then heed our advice. Timely advice or counsel, if heeded, helps to insure that we avoid self and nationally destructive behaviors. Related to such advice or counsel, God’s word, the Bible is full of such counsel or wisdom that will help to insure that we flourish in His blessings rather than bringing destruction upon ourselves. Yet, like the person with the hammer we too often due to our being unaware of God’s counsel or ignoring it also engage in self and nationally destructive behaviors. “How so?” we might ask. Take for example Proverbs 14:34 (NKJ), “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.” Based on the truth revealed in this verse our goal should be to elect legislators who craft laws that promote righteousness and reveal a disdain for sin.

Based on this verse we should elect Presidents and other executive leaders who promote righteousnes s and warn against sinful living. Based on this verse we should insure that our Presidents nominate and our Senators confirm Supreme Court justices that promote righteousness and follow the intent of the Founders, offering godly interpretations of our Constitution. Yet, like the person with the hammer we have engaged in behaviors that are destructive to ourselves and to our nation by continuing to elect and supporting leaders who do not promote righteousness or disdain sinful behaviors. Recently, as probably most of us are aware, the Supreme Court ruled that homosexuals have a right to marry, supporting what some refer to as “marriage equality.” Many, rightfully so, have decried this ruling, understanding that the institution of marriage culturally has always been between a man and a woman, never two of the same sex, a fact supported by the Bible in Genesis, by Jesus in the gospels, by Paul in 1 Corinthians 7 and Ephesians 5 and by Peter in 1 Peter 3. Yet, based on the makeup of the Court this ruling was not that surprising. Justices Kagan and Ginsburg had already performed same sex marriages, so their allegiances were clear. Add to them two more liberal justices, Sotomayor and Breyer and all that was needed was a swing vote, provided by


Justice Kennedy. So, based on the makeup of the Court the decision was not that surprising, yet there is more to think about here. That something more to think about here is just how these justices got to their positions in the first place. We will start with those who voted against the ruling, justices Scalia, Thomas, Alito and Roberts. Scalia was nominated by President Reagan. Thomas was nominated by President Bush. Alito and Roberts were nominated by President George W. Bush. Providing the swing vote, Justice Kennedy was nominated by President Reagan. Those who voted with Kennedy were Ginsburg and Breyer, nominated by President Clinton, Sotomayor and Kagan, both nominated by President Obama. Clearly, a pattern is obvious here. More liberal Presidents tend to nominate more liberal justices and more conservative Presidents tend to nominate more conservative justices. But the nomination of justices does not assure their confirmation. When a justice is nominated he or she must then go before the Senate for confirmation. All of the nine

justices involved in this decision were confirmed by the Senate. At this point you may be wondering, “Why is all of this important?� It is important that we understand that who we elect as President and Senators produces ramifications beyond the office of the Presidency or that of the Senate. Some of those ramifications are evident in the judicial branch of our government, as Supreme Court Justices are confirmed for life. So, as we observe the candidates already campaigning to become our next President, we need to delve into what those candidates have actually accomplished, the laws and policies they have supported, including where they stand on matters like abortion, same sex marriage, etc. And, with the potentiality of one or more Supreme Court justices needing to be replaced, we need to remember that more liberal candidates tend to nominate more liberal justices. That being so did not bode well in the recent Supreme Court decision.


by: Kathy Weddle I always had lofty ideas of becoming an intercessor….long hours in the night travailing over whatever great need God laid on my heart. I envisioned myself achieving great feats in the spirit realm by my wonderful sacrifice. I’m not poking fun at anything or anyone but myself. We get carried away with whatever our idea of God’s plan for us is, often without bothering to ask Him for His opinion. In fact, I truly have the deepest respect for the members of the Body who actually do spend that sacrificial time bringing needs before the Throne. The thing is, now I DO feel called, and not only that, I believe we’re ALL called, to be intercessors. In the present spiritual atmosphere there is more activity than, I believe, history, except for the time surrounding Jesus’ birth and from just before the crucifixion to the resurrection. The enemy is after the Body, after our yet-to-be-born children, after our beloved country. He’s coming at us with a vengeance. He’s zeroing in on Israel with that ago old jealousy of them being God’s chosen. He wants the United States taken out of the equation, and frankly, the last few years of political choices and decisions have more than proven that.

Millions of yetto-be-born children have been stopped in their paths of development in the most violent manner conceivable; their mothers deceived into believing they’re not human and it’s their right. We as a country (and I fervently pray this is overturned by the time we go to print) appear to be accommodating and supporting the country who hates us and Israel most; whose officials and people scream “death to America and Israel” even as other officials sit at a table and demand their rights to nuclear capabilities. We have strayed so far from our JudeoChristians roots that we’ve forgotten that many of our blessings as a nation have been afforded because of our support of Israel. At the same time, the WORLD looks directly at what her enemies have attempted to do to Israel and turned a blind eye; trying to make Israel a war criminal for defending herself. Removing a flag that represents a viable part of our history will not change the racists’ mindset; it’s making it worse. It’s a hysterical act; TV shows being removed because they portray a type of living in the South; cars being repainted, products being removed from store shelves in masse (my granddaughter’s high school ring was melted down and recast


without our consent because she had the world “rebel” put on it-not because she’s Confederate she’s so independent-our American flag could be severely restricted, remodeled, or removed entirely. The underlying fact is this: we are systematically obliterating and rewriting our history and blessing the act, which is paving the way for the faction that intends to literally write our Judeo-Christian roots right out of the history books. The growing consensus in education is to stop teaching children cursive because “they no longer need it in the age of texting and computers”. Unfortunately, if they can’t write it, they can’t read it, and if they can’t read it, they can’t read the ORIGINAL documents that framed our country. Speaking of education, our youngest elementary children are going to be taught “gender identity”. As they come up through the grades, they’ll be introduced to various lifestyles and “methods”, then at some point, encouraged to make a choice.

There are MANY fields “white unto harvest” and nowhere near enough workers. There is great financial need for the sake of the Gospel and the hungry; persecuted Christians, displace “nominal” Muslims, prisoners are being tortured, killed, and starved, etc. And yes, the list goes on. Praying has always been a part of a Believer’s life; some more, some less. This age has become so rife with evil that not to give serious attention to our prayer life would almost seem irresponsible. The good news in all this? God IS still on the throne! He said “Call unto Me and I WILL answer you, and show you great and mighty things”. It all looks and sounds so incredibly hopeless, but our Savior and Lord is the ONE Who created hope. If we speak even a few words of faith on each of these things in addition to what we normally pray about, or even other things going on I haven’t mentioned, it will be the best possible investment of time we could give. Until next time…unless we all make a hasty exit…

BE A SPIRITUAL STORM STOPPER!


by: Rev. Melissa Shepherd As believers, we are called to worship or love God with all of our heart, mind, body, soul and strength. When we enter into this kind of total communion of worship with God, we enter into the fullness of oneness with Him. We experience His tangible presence, His love, His heart. We are allowed access to Him because we are in Christ Jesus. We have been made the righteousness of God through the blood sacrifice of Jesus. 2 Corinthians 5:21: God is Holy. There is no darkness in Him. 1 John 1:5: We only have access to Him because of the holiness of the blood of Jesus. What a precious gift to be able to come before God and fellowship with Him in His Glory. It is in this place where God fills us with Himself, and all of His goodness. He fills us with His Glory. Psalm 22:3: The Hebrew meaning for glory (kabad): heavy, weighted with all that is good, goodness,

riches, honor, soul, wealth. In this place of worship, when we come with our whole hearts and self, He is there. He is waiting with open arms to surround us and fill us with all of His goodness. In these moments with our Father, He refreshes and strengthens us. His very nature is imparted to us. He seeks such to worship Him, in Spirit and in Truth. John 4:24: God knows that we have need of His qualities and abilities in order to accomplish His Will in the Earth. We receive this help when we “wait” on the Lord. The word “Wait” here means to entwine or wrap yourself completely into the Lord’s Presence. When I pour my love and worship out upon my Father, He always responds. He cannot resist His children! He longs to spend time with each of us and pour out His love to us. I am often overcome by His goodness and in absolute awe of His love toward me. I can sense His love to the depths of my being, it is like

every cell inside is flooded with His Presence and Power. If I could only worship Him every moment for all eternity, it would not be long enough to shower my love upon Him. His Word has given me life. He gave His Son so that I can know Him. He is beautiful, wonderful, and full of majesty and splendor! When God gave the 10 Commandments, the first commandment was to worship God only with all of your heart, mind, body, soul and strength. Deuteronomy 6:5,


Matthew 22:27: He is always trying to get blessings to us and I understand why He put that commandment first. He knows He put the law of sowing and reaping in the Earth, what we sow we will reap. By commanding us to worship Him, He gave us the opportunity to RECEIVE His love, His goodness, His blessing, to receive HIM. He is the reward! He is really all that we need! With everything that we are facing in this world today, it

is so important to take time to worship God. In His presence is fullness of joy and it is the joy of the Lord that is our strength! When we worship Him and pour our love and adoration upon Him, He restores our soul. Our soul is our mind, will, and emotions. Our soul is what helps our spirit to interact with the world around us. We need strength and refreshing in our mind, will and emotions to accomplish God’s plans and will here in the Earth. Worshipping and honoring

God is our moment with the Most High. Every time you come before Him and worship Him, you will be blessed. Scripture tells us that God searches to and fro seeking whom He may BLESS! 2 Chronicles 16:9: When we come in to worship Him with all of our hearts, mind, soul, body and strength, He receives our love and pours His love upon us! Oh how He loves us! Give Him your whole self, your whole heart! He is worthy to be praised and adored!

This mom cried big tears as we prayed for her son and sweetly said, “Thank you for caring enough to pray.” As we watched her tears, we were reminded of what Jesus said, “Whoever in My name and for My sake accepts and receives and welcomes one such child also accepts and receives and welcomes Me and whoever so receives Me, receives not only Me, but also Him who sent Me.” Mark 9:37

by: Leon Gosiewski ‘Now many signs and wonders were done among the people by the hands of the apostles … And more than ever believers were added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women, so that they even carried out the sick into the streets’ (Acts 5: 12 – 15) Have you ever wondered why the church today is spiritually impotent and most Christians do not live in and experience the supernatural lifestyle of the early church in their daily lives? The reason stems from the debilitating existence of sin, death and worldliness in our lives. I have been 'accused' by some believers of preaching a sinless Christianity. Although initially astounded by this accusation when it was first made I want to clearly state here that, by the blood stained cross of Calvary and the name of Jesus I am happy to hold my hands up and gladly accept this criticism. Although it is extremely hard hitting and uncompromising I am content to stand with John and boldly say, ‘No one born of God commits sin; for God’s nature abides in him, and he cannot sin because he is born of God. By this it may be seen who are the children of

God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not do right is not of God, nor he who does not love his brother’ (1 John 3: 9, 10). My Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ did not lovingly shed His blood for me or you to continue in the grip of sin and satan’s domination and oppression in our life. Scripture is very clear, ‘Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we whodied to sin still live in it? Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father; we too might walk in newness of life’ (Romans 6: 1 – 4). The sin in me and in you was firmly captured by Jesus on the cross and summoned to death. Our dark stains of sin were completely washed by the blood of Calvary and when we were baptized we arose cleansed and pure to live a new life in Christ. That is why when we read


the follow-on verses in Romans chapter six it says, ‘So you also must consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its lusts, and do not go on presenting the members of your body to sin as instruments of unrighteousness; but present yourselves to God as those alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God’ (Romans 6: 11 -13). The sin in us died when we accepted Jesus as Lord and saviour. Whatever defense any Christian believer may or may not make for excusing sin as an inevitability in their lives, the opposite to preaching a sinless Christianity is the contradictory preaching and acceptance of a sinful Christianity with its socially pleasing activities and feel-good messages. That is the lie that satan has placed into the church and the heart of many Christian believers today. It is this lie, that occasional sin is somehow inevitable and okay that blocks our right to live as true heirs of the kingdom and in God’s supernatural lifestyle. The Christian gospel message has shockingly now been diluted to such an extent that the true personal cost of our salvation and its Godly expectation of us has subtly become detached from our teaching and preaching. The words of Jesus who said, ‘Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me’ (Luke 9: 23) have, as a result been pushed so far back in our thinking that we do not consider what taking up our cross really means and how it impacts on our daily

lives. Church teaching no longer talks about humbling ourselves in absolute commitment, no matter what the cost, developing a personal relationship, walking in consummate love and living by faith. It is this type of thinking and acceptance of sin in our lives that is, in these last of the last days heralding apostasy and the great falling away that Paul spoke about to the Thessalonians in (2 Thessalonians 2: 1 – 12). Those that continue to think that they can have one foot in the world and the other in the kingdom not only fool themselves but they are wide open to satan’s deception and falling away. It is a tightrope that we do not have to walk! What we all need to understand by revelation is that although we were totally immersed in and cleansed by the blood of Jesus we are all still susceptible to satan’s attacks and sin. We can reawaken and resurrect sin if we allow satan a foothold in our lives. This is why there should never be an excuse or lee-way given for sin. As we walk day-by-day with Jesus, we will walk as He walked in daily revival and our aim will focus on Him and on holiness. It is impossible for any of us to both be sinful and holy. Holiness is the opposite of sinfulness. Holiness is walking with the Lord. Sinfulness is walking separated from the Lord. If we think sin is inevitable in our lives we are thinking in worldly ways and what do sinners do? They sin! When we become transformed by the renewal of our minds we think holiness. And what do the holy do? They live holiness!


What we allow to enter our ears and eyes is what we think about. What we think about is what settles in our heart. What settles in our heart is what we believe. What we believe is what we speak. What we speak is who we are. What we say and who we are is how we act. How we act is the testimony of our lives. This is why Scripture says, 'The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth what is good; and the evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth what is evil; for his mouth speaks from that which fills his heart' (Luke 6: 45). Those that think there is an excuse for sin do not understand what sin really is and what it is capable of doing in our lives. They are slow to repent. The holy know the power of sin and live true repentance. If you want to see the true face of satan look at the destruction, domination and oppression of sickness and disease such as cancer, rheumatoid arthritis and viruses such as ebola. Look at the evil of man against man in Concentration camps, the holocaust and persecutions. Wherever domination and oppression exists that is where you will find satan. Jesus came in love and broke the power of satan at Calvary so why do we as Christian believers continue to allow him to dominate and oppress? Why should the devil steal our privileges. With the Holy Spirit in us we have power over satan. We have within us the power of signs, wonders and miracles. We just have to stir these into action and believe. Nothing is impossible with God. He will not fail. To become supernaturally empowered we have to live a life that is totally committed to the Lord. Being filled full with the Holy Spirit and allowing Him to move without restrictions upon and within us is a must for all true believers. Sin in our lives prevents the Holy Spirit from working in us and empowering us. But when sin has gone the Holy Spirit can come powerfully upon us. If we claim that we are filled with the Spirit and yet sin we deceive ourselves because

one of the roles of the Holy Spirit is to convict us of sin (see John 16: 8). We cannot sin and be filled with the Spirit. The two cannot co-habit. It is an important lesson for us to understand that from the ignominy and death of the cross the humility and love of Jesus destroyed sin and satan’s power. Out of humiliation and brokenness the Holy Spirit came in power at Pentecost. Just as Jesus died and power sprang forth so we must humbly die to sin and self and rise up in the revival supernatural power of the Spirit. 'It is the Spirit that gives life' (John 6: 63). The Spirit gives Life to our mortal bodies. The Life of the Spirit must be in us; otherwise if the Life of the Spirit is not in us we will walk in lifelessness and powerlessness. Jesus said, 'he who believes in me will also do the works that I do; and great works than these will he do, because I go to the Father' (John 14: 12). Jesus then said, 'Whatever you ask in my name, I will do it, that the Father may be glorified in the Son; if you ask anything in my name, I will do it' (John 14: 13, 14). These are precious promised truths that we must not simply talk about but act upon and prove by walking in them. We can walk in Holy Power because the Life of the Spirit is in us and Jesus said we will do the same works as Him - we just have to ask, believe and act. Just as the early church did not preach the gospel in word alone but in demonstration of power so we must do the same. If we truly want supernatural power and Revival we must expectantly walk in the same way that Jesus walked! There is coming a mighty outpouring of the Holy Spirit. We are at the brink of this latter-day rain that will outstretch all other revivals. It will be worldwide and based upon the Word of God, dedication to prayer, the power of the Holy


Spirit and love. If we are to become a part of this mighty move of the Holy Spirit sin must go and we must truly love one another and walk with God and one another in unity. An important question for all of us today is, ‘how well do you know Jesus?’ and ‘how well do you want to know Jesus?’ Paul wrote to the church in Philippi and said: '...that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection...' (Philippians 3: 10). Oh to know Jesus; I mean really know Him, walk with Him and daily share with Him. That heart desire takes our total commitment. It means that we lay down our life, die to self and in dedication and favour toward Jesus walk as He walked. There is no getting away from the fact that the true Christian life is death to self and death to worldly living. It is when we reach this point, and only then that we will truly know the lifegiving power of His resurrection and live life abundantly. The resurrection brought life and victory. It has broken every chain, every sickness, every curse of the evil one and it also sets us free to walk in supernatural power. Satan has robbed many Christian believers of truly knowing and walking as Jesus intended us to walk. He has made many believe that they can walk with one foot in the world and the other in heaven - that is a lie. That is why many of us do not know Jesus and His resurrection power. The great day of Pentecost, the coming of the Holy Sirit was the last mighty move of God to prepare us for the return of Jesus. Maybe at some point in your life you have dropped the F-Bomb. I mean, who hasn't? It's done by your friends, and pretty much everyone around you swears. What's the big deal? It's not so bad, right? Wrong! James 3:10 says, “Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be. “Many people also casually throw around the word, “God.” This is just as bad as swearing. The NIV of Exodus 20:7 says, “You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.” Let's say, you have to get something in the attic of your house and it's pitch black. You can't see a thing, so you decide to grab a flashlight. The first thing anyone will notice in that pitch black attic, will be the light that the flashlight is giving off. The light always stands out in the midst of darkness. As Christians, we are supposed to be like the flashlight, standing out in the midst of that black attic (non-Christians). The NIV of Matthew 5:14-16 says, “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to

everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” The NLT of Romans 12:2 says, “Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” If you are swearing like everyone else, how could the unsaved see that there is something different about you and possibly want what you have? What could you possibly have that they would want, if there is no difference from the example that you are setting and the way that they are living? Swearing in private is just as bad as swearing in public. Something didn't go your way, so you go to the privacy of your own bedroom and start swearing. In reality, you have no privacy. God hears every word that comes out of your mouth, He even knows it ahead of time. The NLT of Psalm 139:4 says, “You know what I'm going to say even before I say it, LORD.” I know that pretty much every teenager uses social media, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. We must glorify God, even on social media.


The NLT of Colossians 3:17 says, “And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the LORD Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the father.” In this case it's whatever you type, post, share, snap, and tweet. Many teenagers post statuses and share pictures with curse words on them and swear word abbreviations, God's name in vain, and girls wearing suggestive clothing while striking a provocative pose (a subject of its own, but fitting). If God was your Facebook friend or twitter follower would you feel comfortable posting this stuff? God doesn't need to be your “friend” on Facebook to see what you post. The NIV of Luke 6:45 says, “A good man brings good things out of the good stored up

in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.” This means that your words are reflecting on what is being given to your spirit. If you are in church, meditating the Bible, and praying, you are storing up good things in your spirit, therefore your mouth will speak those good things. If you fill the spirit up with things of the world, that's what will come out of your mouth. What will you store in your spirit? Will you be a light in all of this darkness or will you simply blend in?

by: Nick Schneider Our God is still in the healing business. It's not some kind of 'hocus pocus' kind of magical deal. Healing is for today, just like it was when Christ walked on this earth. Healing is not any kind of cheap snake oil miracle cure potion that's peddled by a fast-talking sales person. Before you think I've taken a jump off of the diving board of common sense and reason into the pool of stupidity and ignorance, let me tell you that God's Word is filled with examples of healing. We as believing Christians have that same authority to receive it because of the shed blood of Jesus Christ on the Cross at Calvary. That's a fact. An explanation of God's healing power can't be

fully talked about in a single posting, so I plan to deal with the subject of healing for the next couple of days as the Lord leads me. I can tell you that God can heal and he does heal physical ailments, diseases, addictions and other afflictions. God does heal our emotions and spiritual beings from the strongholds that hold us back in our faith walk. I have seen and experienced healing – miraculous moves of God. You don't have to convince me that healing is for today. I have witnessed it and have the faith to understand that it is God's will for all of us to be well. I cannot explain why some people are healed and some are not. Only God could tell us that.

But I do know we have the authority because of Christ's atonement on the cross to call on God to heal us, to heal family members, to heal our church family, to heal friends and to heal complete strangers. How many of you know that television ministers are not the only ones who can orate in this miraculous power of God. I'm thankful for the true men and women of God on television, but Jesus said in Mark 16:18 that believers


will lay hands on the sick, and the sick will recover. I believe that. The key question is do you have the faith to receive your miracle or the faith to pray for someone to be healed. Look to Matthew 5:25-34 and you'll see that faith is needed to receive your healing. It is written: “A woman in the crowd had suffered for twelve years with constant bleeding. She had suffered a great deal from many doctors, and over the years she had spent everything she had to pay them, but she had gotten no better. In fact, she had gotten worse. She had heard about Jesus, so she came up behind him through the crowd and touched his robe. For she thought to herself, “If I can just touch his robe, I will be healed.” Immediately the bleeding stopped, and she could feel in her body that she had been healed of her terrible condition. Jesus realized at once that healing power had gone out from him, so he turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched my robe?”

His disciples said to him, “Look at this crowd pressing around you. How can you ask, ‘Who touched me?’” But he kept on looking around to see who had done it. Then the frightened woman, trembling at the realization of what had happened to her, came and fell to her knees in front of him and told him what she had done. And he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace. Your suffering is over.” Would you like to see the blind receive their sight or the lame walk when you pray? Do you desperately need healing yourself? Here’s the good news— whether you’re praying for another’s healing or receiving your own, it’s available to every true follower of Christ. Jesus gave every disciple who believes the power and authority to do the same works that He did. John 14:12 says, “I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father.”

All believers will do the same works that Jesus did. It’s not limited to ministers. There’s just a shortage of believing believers. How do you reach that place where you can see the miraculous happen in and through you? It starts with the renewing of your mind. Faith is based on knowledge, and everything we need to know to be a victorious Christian is in God’s Word. That’s what the Apostle Peter said in 2 Peter 1:3-4: “By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.” Minister Andrew Womack puts it this way, “God has already placed His healing power within us, and it is


now under our authority. It isn’t up to God to determine who receives healing; it’s up to us! What a powerful statement! It’s our failure to understand and use the authority we have that is keeping God's healing power from flowing as it should. It's imperative that we discover what we have and learn how to release it.” The death of the son of God, Jesus, on the cross paid the price for our sins and by his stripes we are healed. That is what the Word of God says, not me. I can tell you that I have been healed of a major back ailment – more than 30 years ago –– after I was prayed for. It didn't happen overnight, but I can remember the night I received prayer and felt the power of God touch me. From that day on, the back pain gradually got better. Today, I am pain-free and proud to say by his stripes I am healed. My wife has been healed of Lupus –– a disease that is supposed to gradually get worse as time goes on. But after the elders of the church came, laid hands on her and prayed she began to improve. Her doctor told

her several years ago, he didn't know why she got better, but her Lupus was in remission. He didn't know why, but we know. About two years ago, I was dealing with another physical ailment neuropathy, caused by diabetes. My lower legs were numb and tingled. It got so back that my doctor placed my on medical leave and prohibited me from driving because I could not feel the brake or gas pedals. It was obviously unsafe for me to drive. I walked with a cane to help with my balance. My wife and I attended a Christian Leadership Conference in North Carolina in September, 2014. Much of the conference was teaching on faith and walking in faith like the Bible teaches us. After hearing three morning and afternoon sessions, I was sitting outside our cabin and just enjoying a break from our lessons. Suddenly, God spoke to me in a still small voice and said, "Leave your cane in the cabin."

I looked around and wondered if I had fallen asleep and was dreaming. I almost said, "God are you talking to me." But I knew it was God. He said the same thing again. "Leave the cane in the cabin." I obeyed what he told me and to this day have not used that cane. I am not completely free of symptoms, but gradually each day it is still getting better. I am nobody special and I don't know why God picked me to shine his healing power through, but he did. I obeyed what he had told me.


Several months later, I had an appointment with a neurosurgeon, who had been considering doing back surgery on me to possibly help the neuropathy and give me better mobility. He walked into the room where I was sitting and immediately wanted to know where my cane was. I told him I wasn't using it anymore. The doctor asked me to get up and walk. I did and he just shook his head. The surgeon said he didn't know what had happened, but I was obviously improved. So why isn't everyone healed who is prayed for? There are a number of reasons why some of our healing prayers are hindered. Unforgiveness is a major hindrance. Look at Mark 11:25. It says, “But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in heaven will

forgive your sins, too” An important element to receive or minister in healing is forgiveness. Because of the relationship between being forgiven and being healed, it is absolutely necessary to obey Jesus' command to forgive others if we are to receive healing. If we do not forgive, we are not forgiven, and if we are not forgiven, we are not healed as we read in Matthew 6:12-15. We pray for this when we pray the "Lord's Prayer."

To forgive seems to be the most common and the most healing of all the medical orders given by God the Healer –– Jehovah Rapha. If we are not in right standing with our brothers and sister, it hinders the flow of the power of God. Many don't consider this, but a 'biggie' hindrance to healing is learning to eat right and take caring of our self –– that means getting enough rest and sleep. I'm guilty here. By nature, I don't get enough sleep and I don't eat right, but through faith I am pledging today to begin to work on that problem. God has shown me that we can have all the faith in the world, but if we have bad eating habits and improper health practices we can open the door to sickness in our lives. Our bodies are a temple of God, so we should learn to take care of it.


Traditions are another hindrance to healing. There are a lot of people who look at their 'church' tradition and say, "that's not how my church does it" or "that's not how I was taught". As long as we treat tradition as more sacred than what is said in the Word of God, you will stop the flow of God on your behalf. When Jesus began His ministry, it was traditionalism that prevented many people from receiving healing. Many churches teach that it is not always the will of God to heal you. It is not likely that you will trust God for your healing if you have not heard the truth of God's healing power and redemptive nature of the cross taught to include healing. Faith comes and is developed through hearing and studying the Word of God as it says in Romans10:17 – “So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.” Some will dismiss the healing message simply

because they were not healed instantly. After receiving prayer and waking up the next morning with the same problem, they give up, continue accepting and expecting the problem. But Scripture clearly explains that many times healing is gradual, but healing always comes in one way or another when the true Godkind-of-faith is release. It is through faith and patience that we inherit this promise. Both my wife and I experienced the gradual healing power of God because we believed we had received it and kept confessing it with our mouths until it actually happened. An unrepentant heart can hinder healing - are you clean before the Lord? If we are knowingly and willfully walking in disobedience, healing can be delayed. Ignorance of the authority that we have in Christ, the power we have in His Name, and how to pray a prayer of faith is a major hindrance. We must believe that we receive when we pray. Mark

11:24 reminds us, “I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours.” One of the biggest hindrances to divine healing is the lack of faith. Faith seems to be a major requirement to releasing the power of God on our behalf. Unbelief isolates the healing power of God from our life. Many Christians believe that it is not the will of God to heal them, so God does not heal them. Sometime unbelief is more subtle. Perhaps we basically believe the promises of God, but we have entertained the many doubts that are thrown into our mind either by society, by Satan, or from other sources. Worry and fear is the opposite of faith - it's faith in reverse - believing the wrong things. Worry and fear will produce ulcers and other health problems it is working against us. The Bible tells us there is no fear in faith - perfect faith will cast out all fear. The words of our mouth reveal our faith - If we are


walking in faith, it'll show. It is important that we say about ourselves what God's Word says about us. If God says we are healed, it is okay for us to say we are healed, regardless of how we feel. It's very important that we are not wavering in faith, but are "fully persuaded" as we read in Romans 4. Some speak words of faith, but their actions contradict their words. Some speak words of faith when they are around other faith walking people, but speak their problems at other times. We've also got to get rid of the "If It Be God's Will" mentality. Look at I John 5:14, it says, “And we are confident that he hears us

whenever we ask for anything that pleases him.” Being healed and whole pleases God. His son, Jesus, paid the full price for our healing on the cross. Until we believe that in our heart, it's going to be difficult for us to receive our healing. A “whatever will be, will be" attitude is a snag to our

healing. Some people will claim, "God will heal me if it is His will to heal me". A person who prays this way is clearly walking in doubt and unbelief. Scripture tells us that we must pray in confidence, knowing what His will is when we pray.

Peter affirms that our healing has already taken place when he wrote in 1 Peter 2:24: “He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you are healed.” We can smile and say “Amen” that God's grace transcends our past mistakes and shortcomings There are still days when my legs become numb and Satan wants to remind me that I really wasn't healed that day on the North Carolina coast. On those days, I speak The Word and said, "I am healed by the stripes of Jesus. I am healed. I am healed. I am healed. I am healed by the stripes that Jesus took for each of us. I am healed.

Ingredients                

1-3/4 cups graham cracker crumbs 1/4 cup sugar 1/3 cup butter, melted FILLING: 5 packages (8 ounces each) cream cheese, softened 1 cup sugar 1 cup (8 ounces) sour cream 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 7 large eggs, lightly beaten TOPPINGS: 1 package (12 ounces) frozen raspberries or blueberries , thawed Cheesecake with Berry Sauce Recipe photo 1/2 cup sugar by Taste of Home 2 cups heavy whipping cream 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions 1. Preheat oven to 350°. Place a greased 10-in. springform pan on a double thickness of heavy-duty foil (about 18 in. square). Wrap foil securely around outside of pan. Place on a baking sheet. 2. In a small bowl, mix cracker crumbs and sugar; stir in butter. Press onto bottom and 1 in. up sides of prepared pan. Bake 8 minutes. Cool on a wire rack. 3. In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Beat in sour cream, cream and vanilla. Add eggs; beat on low speed just until blended. Pour into crust. Place springform pan in a larger baking pan; add 1 in. of hot water to larger pan. 4. Bake 50-60 minutes or until center is just set and top appears dull. Remove springform pan from water bath. Cool cheesecake on a wire rack for 10 minutes. Loosen sides from pan with a knife; remove foil. Cool 1 hour longer. Refrigerate overnight, covering when completely cooled. 5. For toppings, place berries and sugar in a food processor; process until blended. In a small bowl, beat cream until it begins to thicken. Add confectioners' sugar and vanilla; beat until soft peaks form. 6. Remove rim from springform pan. Serve cheesecake with sauce and whipped cream. Yield: 16 servings. Because of fear people voted in hopes of preventing increased taxes and put ungodly men and women into office that in turn compromised the principles on which our nation was founded. The majority's fear of being labeled 'haters' has allowed a minority group to rise and influence everything from education, the arts, political policy and now even the law of the land. What you are fearful of losing, you will be tempted to compromise to keep. Once you compromise, fear wins and what you compromised to keep will be lost. There is a word that is more powerful than fear. Love. This little four letter word can and has changed the world. Because of Love, God

sent his Son, Jesus. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” For the last 2000 years, whenever someone called on the Name of Jesus, believed in their heart, and confessed with their mouth that Jesus is their Lord, their lives were changed forever. This Love, the Love of God, has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. Romans 5:5 “We are equipped by God, through the Holy Spirit, to love like God Loves.” Many people find it hard to walk in love toward people, especially those who have hurt us or wronged us in some way. Jesus said Mt 5:44 "But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and

persecute you.” Now, if Jesus said to love your enemies, it must be possible to do so. How do we do that? How do we love an enemy? How can we find it in ourselves to bless, to do good, and to pray? We do it by faith. Faith works by Love. (Galatians 5:6) Ask God to forgive us for having a wrong attitude toward the person and for not walking in love. Then we can say with our mouth “I love this person with the Love of God that is poured out in my heart by the Holy Spirit. I bless him and pray for him according to the will of God. Ask the Holy Spirit how you can bless them or do good to them. Ask Him how to pray God's will into their life.


Believe it in your heart that you have forgiven the person and are now walking in love toward them. That is how faith works. Believe in your heart and confess with your mouth whatever God has said in His Word that you can do or have. That includes loving others by faith. Not only will your life be changed as a result, but theirs can be also! The life giving, life changing love of God, in the heart of a believer, can change their world if they will step out in faith and love like Jesus loved. He laid down his life for us. We need to lay down

our lives, our fears, our unbelief, and determine to walk in faith and love. 1 John 3:16 “By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.” God is Love. 1 John 4:8 “He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.” 1 John 4:16 “And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God

in him.” Let the Love of God change your world. 1John 4:18 “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.” Let God's Love become perfected in you. Let it cast out fear in your life. Let the Holy Spirit show you where you have been fearful and then apply the Love of God and His Word to that fear to cast it out and change your world forever!

When I first heard the above scripture quoted, something in me just didn't agree with it, especially considering the 'assumed' mental state of the author, Solomon. I say 'assumed' because after reading the first chapter of Ecclesiastes, you too may come to the conclusion that Solomon wasn't very impressed with life at the time he wrote these words. However, even when we are depressed, we may utter words and thoughts that we thought we originated when all the while the Holy Spirit was speaking mysteries through our unclean lips! Consider the word 'money' used in verse 19. Do you REALLY believe that money is the answer for all?! ‘things' was added by the translators as the italics indicates. Let's consider the Strong's meaning for this word ‘money’ under #3701. H3701 keh'-sef silver (-ling).

From H3700; silver (from its pale color); by implication money: - money, price,

SILVER! Isn't that interesting? I did a search on the words 'money' and 'silver' in the Old Testament. I found 302 hits on silver and 117 hits on money. All of the verses had the Strong's #3701 or a variant of the same attached to them! A perfect example showing this is the following scriptures in Genesis: Gen 44:2 And put my cup, the silver3701 cup, in the sack's mouth of the youngest, and his corn money.3701 And he did according to the word that Joseph had spoken. Gen 44:8 Behold, the money,3701 which we found in our sacks' mouths, we brought again unto thee out of the land of Canaan: how then should we steal out of thy lord's house silver3701 or gold?

From the beginning of time man has used silver to pay for things. Another word used when paying for things (in order to cancel a debt) is redeem. This is why it is said that the spiritual meaning of silver throughout the Bible is ‘redemption’.


Now, let’s reconsider Solomon’s statement: A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh merry: but money answereth all. Money in and of itself does not answer or solve all situations and circumstances but I think that you would agree that silver or redemption, which ultimately is Christ, does and is the answer to the dilemma of every human being! You may also find it interesting to examine the three parts of Solomon’s statement:

Feast: In the outer court the priests were allowed to eat portions of the meat sacrifices and yes it was quite a feast for them! Wine: The Holy Place and all its furnishings represent the fullness of the Pentecostal experience. Remember Peter's statement: “…these are not drunken as ye suppose…” Acts 2:15 Money: Silver or redemption actually took place in the Holiest of Holies where the blood was applied for the remission of sins. And yes, redemption was made for all. In one statement Solomon covered all three dimensions of the tabernacle. I can’t say whether or not Solomon fully understood what he was saying. I can say that he definitely spoke a mouthful of truth!
