Improving Neighborhoods:

Held a meeting on the evening of Tuesday, September 28, with some Oakleigh Manor subdivision residents regarding drainage issues within the subdivision

CITY CLERK’S OFFICE ANNE BARKSDALE

Meetings: Attended webinar on postal rates/US Postal service/UPS/FedEx. Met with Ethics Board for review along with Mayor, City Manager, and City Attorney. Worked with Fayette County Elections supervisor to set up electors for absentee ballot review panel. Confirmed ribbon cutting for Your Hair Spa, 400 Stonewall Avenue West. Projects: Completed Job Performance Questionnaire for City Clerk & Deputy City Clerk positions. Completed Supervisor Review for JPQ. Published notice for Shred & Recycle Day event on 10/9. Scheduled Boy Scout Troop 76 to help with Shred & Recycle Day event on 10/9 and to bring trailer for aluminum can recycling. Built and completed agenda packet for 10/7 City Council meeting. Scheduled staff and elected officials for Bray appreciation breakfast. Scheduled hotel & meeting rooms for upcoming City Council retreat in December. Open Records Requests: 10

FIRE DEPARTMENT ALAN JONES Projects - Chief Alan Jones attended the City Council work session. Chief Jones attended a Zoom meeting with the City Manager and Bill Stark regarding a citizen survey. Deputy Chief Linda Black attended the monthly cohort training with LeaderGov. Daily cleaning and sanitizing of SCBA mask and regulators continues. Truck 9 placed back in service, oil leak repairs completed. “A” shift and administrative staff attended GMA pension fund meeting at City Hall.

POLICE DEPARTMENT SCOTT GRAY

Monday, September 27 - Chief Scott Gray attended the Management Team meeting. Chief gray attended the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police (GACP) Executive Board meeting at the State Capitol with Governor Brian Kemp. Tuesday, September 28 - The Command Staff attended a Lexipol meeting reviewing policies and updates. Deputy Chief Robert Mask attended LeaderGov training. Officers trained with the less-lethal BolaWrap device. Command Staff attended weekly policy reviews with Lexipol. Wednesday, September 29 - Chief Gray attended a GACP meeting in Warner Robins. A Command Staff meeting was held. Thursday, September 30 - A departmental staff meeting was held, and the lieutenants meeting was held afterward. Patrol shifts continued training with BolaWrap. Friday, October 1 - Officers with the department started showing their support for Cancer Awareness Month by wearing pink wrist bands, pins, badges, and shirts. Officer Jason Brown qualified with his firearm and was sworn in. Reviewed the divisions’ weekly reports.

HUMAN RESOURCES DEPT. NELLA COOPER Personnel: Updating materials for the Performance Management/ ClearCompany system. Maintaining a case spreadsheet of potential pandemic cases involving City employees. Continuing to review and update various administrative policies for accuracy. Reviewing and updating proposed changes to the Personnel Manual. The supervisor review window to review their employees’ Job Profile Questionnaire for the Compensation and Classification Study closed on October 1. Preparing data in order to rollout a training module provided to the City by Trident Insurance (our Property and Casualty carrier). Continued discussion with our Benefits Broker on data received on medical and dental insurance renewal quotes. Employment Opportunities: • Certified Police Officer - 2 applications • Non-Certified Police Officer - 8 applications • Planning Specialist - 2 application • Firefighter - 3 applications Turn Over Report: There was one new hire and one termination during the period of September 27 - October 3. There are 13 vacant positions: three in Fire Services, three in Public Services, one in Planning & Zoning, one in Human Resources, and five in the Police Department.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY KELVIN JOINER Work orders: 64 new, 42 closed. Projects: We are continuing to work on a list of technology needs for the New City Hall building. ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT BRIAN WISMER Downtown Development Authority/Main Street/Economic Development: Continued marketing and logistics efforts for 2021 concerts; final review and amendments made for 2022 management contract with The Bear. Managed the cancellation process for October 16 Loverboy concert, and submitted offer for additional concert in November. Attended Zoom meeting on amphitheater green room upgrades. Completed employee pay/performance reviews. Facilitated additional transfer of artifacts from the Holliday Dorsey Fife House to the historic courthouse. Met with Fayette County Development Authority President Megan Baker on various economic development projects. Attended ribbon cutting event for Your Hair Spa. Meeting with AECOM to discuss “materials testing” needed for multi-use bridge/path project. Finalized RFP for high priority trail study (advertisement will begin October 6). Further review of Phase II wayfinding signage details. Spoke with Walton Communities about options for an additional commercial building.

PUBLIC SERVICES DEPT. CHRIS HINDMAN Public Works: Cut and maintained Highway 314, Forrest Avenue, Hood Avenue, Hood Avenue roundabout, Police Department, South Glynn Street, Jimmie Mayfield Boulevard, Ramah Road, South Jeff Davis Drive, and Helen Sams Parkway. Trimmed Ramah Road median hedges. Attended a meeting at City Hall. Set up form boards on Sunderland Circle and Glade Knoll Trail, trimmed crape myrtles on West Lanier Avenue. Completed the trash run on Lanier Avenue West, North Highway 85 medians, Grady Avenue, Bradford Square, Beauregard Boulevard, Redwine Road, and Bradley Drive. Patch work on Weatherly Drive. Stormwater: Repaired sidewalk on Sunderland Circle. Repaired sidewalk and erosion on Pinevale Court. Sewer: Average daily flow treated was 2.02 million gallons per day; performed weekly maintenance at 26 lift station sites; maintained wastewater plant and remained in compliance of our permit requirements. Water: Average daily flow of 1.61 million gallons of system demand per day; repaired four water leaks; and maintained water plant and remained in compliance of our permit requirements.
