Innovations at the Western Canada Farm Progress Show Innovation is what drives agriculture production. It makes your operation faster, safer, more efficient and more profitable. The Western Canada Farm Progress Show is your best place to see all the new and innovated products that agriculture companies and dealers have to offer. Several companies have been recognized at the Western Canada Farm Progress Show for showcasing an innovative agriculture product or service. Each of these innovations has been qualified by the Western Canada Farm Progress Show Innovations Committee as a unique, new or improved product in the agriculture industry. It was then critiqued by a panel of judges. Products and services ranked highest by the judging panel will receive either a Gold Standard Award or Sterling Standard Award. The innovations display is located at Arena 3 in the Co-operators Centre. Please visit it to learn more about each of the companies recognized as an innovator. Western Canada Farm Progress Show receives impressive economic results A research project gives the Western Canada Farm Progress Show (WCFPS) an economic thumbs up. The project, called The 2010 Saskatchewan Festivals and Events Research Project, collected data from 1,067 people who attended the Farm Progress Show. It asked about the duration of stay, type of accommodations, spending and where they were from. The research project was conducted by the Southwest Tourism Region with support from the Ministry of Tourism, Parks, Culture and Sport. The data showed that visitors from outside of Regina spent in the range of $185 million to $380 million on items valued over $5,000 — including agriculture equipment such as tractors, combines, seeding and tillage equipment.

and above the major equipment purchased at the event. “The results are extremely encouraging to our planning team,” said Rob O’Connor, WCFPS show manager. “As one of the long-time attractions in Regina, the Farm Progress Show has also become a more important economic contributor to the city and the province.” “Congratulations to the people who worked so hard to make the Western Canada Farm Progress Show another great success,” Minister of Tourism, Parks, Culture and Sport Bill Hutchinson said. “Farm Progress is one of Saskatchewan’s premier events, drawing a large number of visitors and making a huge contribution to our province’s economy. The provincial government remains committed to growing the tourism industry, including events that support our communities by attracting tourists and businesses to Saskatchewan.”

“The show leads to much larger positive economic impacts to our community in a long run. Many visitors have made or will be making big purchases in the future as a result of being at the Farm Progress Show,” said O’Connor.

Nearly 97 per cent of survey participants would strongly recommend this event to others. Over 90 per cent agree that the show facility and the quality of activities, exhibits and entertainment were excellent.

Using the Regional Tourism Economic Impact Model for Saskatchewan, the project evaluated that the economic impact of typical tourism spending associated with the Farm Progress Show was $3,560,000, over

The line meters have a precise orifice size similar to orifice plates used in other systems. However they work with push-in fittings to allow much easier assembly of a liquid fertiliser distribution system for precision planters and air seeders. Their tapered internal shape is less conducive to the blockages that frequently occur with orifice plates used in other systems. The Stacker manifolds are at the core of the system and allow 12 tubes to be connected via 8 mm push in sockets. The manifolds can be stacked in a variety of configurations providing flexibility for configuration of the liquid distribution system. Mandako Agri marketing ltd.
