Super Sessions

Michigan, Bronze Level, East Tower

Your Secret Identity It’s not what’s on the outside, but rather what’s on the inside that makes a superhero super. In this session you’ll explore leadership from the inside out … superhero style! You’ll take the Super Styles Indicator and find out if your style is more like Mr. Fantastic, Wolverine, Captain America, or Wonder Woman. And, you’ll learn how your style works with other super powers so you can make the strongest and best team possible.

Suit? Check! Cape? Check! Mask? Check! While the skills and powers of a hero are the inside, their powers are exhibited and amplified on the outside through their suit. Batman has a mask and utility belt. Captain America has his shield. And, Iron Man, well … he has THE suit! There’s no denying they look like superheroes. Learn from heroes how to look and act like super leaders. In this session, you’ll learn how to amplify your own super powers through super dress and rocking your own professional style and attitude.

My Spidey Senses Tells Me … Peter Parker isn’t the only one with super senses and instincts. Superheroes’ strength comes from making smart decisions for themselves and for others. No matter how strong your powers, there will always be times when you don’t know what to do. That’s when the super power and strength of character take over. We will look at the key characteristics of heroes like courage, respect, justice, responsibility and honor and ways you, too, can lead your life with integrity in all you do.

What’s Your Kryptonite? For every hero and leader, there is something that can take them from powerful to powerless. Even Superman, with all his strength and powers, can be setback by Kryptonite. Leaders face their own Kryptonite where they are setback and feel doomed. But heroes know how to bounce back from setbacks. Learn to identify your weaknesses and rebound, recover, and return to greatness when life throws Kryptonite your way.

Heroes Need a Wingman! Superheroes don’t lead alone. Mr. Incredible has Frozone and Elastigirl. Batman has Alfred and Robin. Iron Man has Jarvis and Pepper Potts. Trusted friends, wise counselors, and marvelous mentors put the “super” in superhero. History is filled with heroes in business, innovation, science, government, entertainment, and more who had fantastic heroes working behind the scenes to support them. Whether you’re the leader out in front or the leader behind the scenes, explore the unique leadership skills it takes to be super.

Not All Heroes Wear Capes You don’t have to read comic books or watch movies to see superheroes in action. There are every day heroes all around us. It’s just harder to spot them because not all heroes wear capes! From our FBLA advisers to chapter officers and our very own role models, there are amazing leaders, resources, and opportunities all around you. Take a closer look at these heroic people, places, and partners in FBLA who can help you and your chapter triumph!

Call It Captain In the famous Battle of New York, the Avengers were cornered with no end in sight to the enemies coming at them. Iron Man identified the special power the team had yet to evoke—a plan! He turned to Captain America and said, “Call it Captain.” Captain America assessed the situation, analyzed the strengths of the team, quickly put together a plan, and delegated tasks that brought super success. Learn the super powers of planning, delegation, and coordinated action to bring success to your FBLA chapter.

Suit Up! One of the greatest qualities of heroes is that they are “others centered.” What drives them is not recognition, riches, or benefits for themselves—but rather applying themselves in the service and greater good of others. Service has long been a core FBLA value and element of our motto. Learn how to suit up and be an FBLA hero at home, at school, and in your community.

The Power of Teamwork Superheroes are capable of almost anything by themselves, but they realize they can achieve more when working with a team; just look at the Avengers! Knowing that teams accomplish more, come learn how to work together to create your own superhero team by focusing on friendship, loyalty, and respect.
