CAMPAIGNS & VOTING

Local Voting Delegates Local voting delegates vote on all matters that come before the general and regional meetings, including elections of the national officers and approval of bylaw amendments. Local voting delegates should have received a voting delegate ribbon in their chapter’s registration packet. If you are a voting delegate and have misplaced or did not get a ribbon, all replacements must be issued and verified by your region’s national board of directors’ representative at the conclusion of the Regional Campaign Rally & Recognition Session. To qualify as a voting delegate, members must have met these requirements: • Paid national, state, and local dues by the membership deadline of April 15 • Conference registration must have been postmarked no later than 20 days (June 4) prior to opening date of the conference. The number of voting delegates to which a chapter is entitled is determined by the following breakdown: • Less than 50 paid chapter members: 2 voting delegates • 50–100 paid chapter members: 3 voting delegates • More than 100 paid chapter members: 4 voting delegates No chapter may have more votes than the number of members in attendance at the NLC. For example, even though a chapter is entitled to three voting delegates, if only two members are present, only two votes may be cast. Voting delegates are expected to attend the meetings listed below. The student names of all voting delegates are required prior to NLC. FBLA-PBL national staff will be available for questions regarding voting and officer elections. Election Headquarters will be located by the Registration Desk. Any changes to voting delegates will be handled here. All changes must be reported by 1:00 p.m. on June 25. No changes will be allowed after this time.
