ABOUT FCICA

The Flooring Contractors Association (FCICA) was incorporated in 1982 to address numerous problems confronted by the installation industry, including a lack of minimum installation standards, unclear specifications, no uniform training standard, and the need for quality installation professionals. Today, FCICA continues to strive for the advancement of the industry. Two annual conferences are held to provide educational opportunities for our members and to create networking opportunities in a non-competitive environment to permit members to receive the knowledge necessary to improve their business’s profitability.

Involvement Opportunities Committees – Participation in the many committees within FCICA gives members an opportunity to give back to the industry while gaining valuable insight on industry issues.

• FCICA’s quarterly magazine, The Flooring Contractor, provides a wealth of information to members including installation articles, business and legal articles, showcasing of new products while keeping members abreast of association news.

Ask Izzy – Members of the “Ask Izzy” team answer questions on commercial flooring products, installations and/or techniques. Team members serving on this program are dedicated to finding answers quickly.

• FCICA established and maintains the Floorcovering Installation Training (FIT) program to provide installations training curriculum to its members.

Floorcovering Installation Training (FIT) Program – Since the inception of the FIT Program, FCICA continues to improve and expand this curriculum. FCICA members volunteer their time to combine decades of knowledge for the benefit of the industry.

• FCICA offers the book “Start with Safety”. A safety program for Flooring Contractors, this book includes fifty-two tabs for safety talk material and forms to fill out at the job site for any safety related incidents. • FCICA partners with industry associations to develop solutions to problems facing the floor covering industry. • FCICA is the only association with the singular purpose to promote and represent the commercial floor covering industry.

Conventions – One of the best ways to get involved in FCICA is by attending a convention. At our conventions, attendees discuss issues affecting the industry, attend educational sessions relative to their business, and most importantly, network and develop the life-long relationships with contractors, manufacturers’ representatives, and industry leaders from around the nation.
