Guidelines for completion of Entry Form 1 The Fraser Coast Heritage & Building Awards is a combination of several awards promoted by the Fraser Coast Regional Council & Maryborough Herald Newspaper. These awards have grown out of the success of the Maryborough Heritage Awards and now encompass the entire Fraser Coast Region. These awards create a forum in which property owners and business people can be recognised for their contribution in preserving and promoting the built heritage of our region. FRASER COAST REGIONAL COUNCIL HERITAGE AWARDS HAVE THREE CATEGORIES: 1. RESIDENTIAL Awarded to the owner of a residential property where improvements or conservation works have been undertaken in keeping with the style and age of the residence. Open to homes of all Architectural periods. 2. NON-RESIDENTIAL Awarded to the owner of a non-residential property where improvements or conservation works - result in a new commercial use for the property - make a positive contribution to the streetscape - contribute to the local heritage theme 3. MAYOR’S AWARD (not available for nomination) Projects or achievements of outstanding calibre. Criteria Judges will consider - Appropriateness of the approach taken for the particular style & age of the building - Quality of workmanship - Contribution to the streetscape - Overall appeal of the building particularly as viewed from the street. General Works must have been completed before 1 January 2009. Entries are assessed on the information provided including detailed summary descriptions and photographs. Inspections by judges will not usually be performed. It is therefore important that the summary description addresses the criteria detailed with the awards category. Checklist: Adequately identify the nominator and nominee including contact details.

Tick the award category to be nominated.

Please include the site address, contractor(s) and a chronological summary of works & events. This summary is essential for assessing entries. If insufficient space exists, please attach additional information.
