Being a designer means being a receiver and interpreter of the sensory impulses that come from the world. Good design is not only expressed through functionality and attractive aesthetics but is also the result of profound anthropocentric and cultural reflection and research, the aim of which is to create happiness in the user's experience. A concept starts from afar to arrive at offering, in its evolution, an empathic and synaesthetic experience at three hundred and sixty degrees.

VILLAGE BRANDING

2019 COMMUNICATION D. The branding project was born as part of the Hainan Chengmai Luoyi Village International Innovation Carnival. After a day of observations and immersion in the local culture, the role of my team was to create and launch a sustainable brand and for the village of Luoyi, in the Chinese province of Hainan. Volcanic stone, lakes, history, and culture make this village a magnetic pole for tourism. During the workshop, we taught local people how to make their products using screen printing on fabrics. That’s how tote bags and handcrafted t-shirts have created that tell, through their graphics, the history, and the local culture.

AD.DERGANO 2019 PSSD

Ad.Dergano is a communication agency that offers neighborhood associations the opportunity to improve their communication skills, both online through templates, guidelines, tutorials and assistance, and personally through workshops held by students of Communication Design at the Politecnico di Milano. The project is born inside Fatto In project and starts from an analysis of the district of Dergano, on the north-west side of Milan. In the district, a part of the citizens is active in the territory and most of them collaborate in different ways with the numerous and prosperous associations present. On the other hand, participation in the events and activities promoted by the associations does not get the visibility it deserves: the associations active in the neighborhood have difficulty in connecting with each other, collaborating and having the opportunity to grow together. The service is also aimed at students, who will have the opportunity to do their internship, developing content within the platform and holding workshops for associations. Ad.Dergano aims to increase the visibility of the district and its associations in the entire city of Milan. Moreover, it will naturally improve the connection and collaboration within the local associations.

XENIA

2019 INTERIOR & UX DESIGN Born within the design course of the Polytechnic of Milan, in response to the research theme “Toilets in archaeological sites”, the Xenia project is a proposal for public toilets to be used in the Acropolis of Athens. The starting point was to satisfy three types of needs: physical, psychological and aesthetic. The first was solved with functionality, the second by transferring to the bathroom a value like that of hospitality, the third by integrating it in a coherent way with the context and enhancing its design. The project communicates a plurality of messages, a sensitivity for the other, for the landscape and for the millenary history of the place. The concept was inspired by Athena, the goddess of Zeus, the Greek goddess of wisdom, the arts and war. Among her many epithets, I chose Xenia, the one that assigns Athena the protection of foreigners and makes her the guarantor of hospitality. Xenia is a concept that starts from afar and goes on to offer, in its evolution, an empathic and synaesthetic experience at three hundred and sixty degrees. The project has been published in a trade magazine “Il Bagno oggi e domani” and the Municipality of Athens is evaluating the feasibility. Published on

POSTOUR 2018 PSSD

Everyday teenagers carry heavy backpacks during their daily activities. Despite the awareness campaigns, the problem of correct posture is real and it is often ignored by families and teenagers. Postour is an innovative system of maintaining a correct posture that combines materials and ergonomic shapes to the IoT. The goal of Postour is to make the user aware of a greater attention to the position of the spine during daily activities through exercises and interactive games and to ensure greater comfort. The system is designed to adapt to backpacks from 15 to 20 liters. The sensors placed in a pocket on the back of the product allow you to monitor through the app the data collected and eventually correct the user’s posture through inflatable bearings. The bearings deflate automatically by resuming their ergonomic position. The system is inspired by the systems currently used to detect blood pressure, but is calibrated to provide relief and back support.

POSTOUR APP 2018 UX DESIGN

The Postour app functions as the interactive platform between the product and the user. The App is connected to the product using wireless bluetooth technology and it records the activities of the user and sync it. The main function of the application is to act as the posture coach to the user by giving information and alerts on right and wrong postures. The user can once record their personal correct posture and then the app will alert you to achieve the right posture when not in it. The app also alerts when the weight of the backpack is above the users fixed limit. The alert given is through a new and effective technology of pressure exerted on the lower back, which is better than the vibrational alerts. There is a history feature in which all the past posture corrections and datas are organised which makes easier for the user to understand their progress into right posture. The additional and highlight feature of our application is the game. Postour has a game feature which records the small shoulder exercises done wearing postour and this is collected as small music elements which could be used for creating own music mix by the user. This music mix can be shared with the connected social Medias like Instagram and Facebook.

MONEYPHONE 2017 UX DESIGN

Moneyphone is born from the conversion of old household objects into objects of different utility. The aim was to make people think about how objects that are no longer used can have a second life thanks to technology. Moneyphone has been exhibited at the Museum of Science and Technology in Milan, allowing visitors to test its use and introducing the principles of programming to children. Moneyphone is a system designed with Arduino that allows you to preserve money and deliver it on demand. Moneyphone wants to be a nostalgic recall at the Retrò epoque, with its shapes, analogue mechanisms and colors. The system communicates with the user through a registered secretary and is able to capture the content balance through receptive sensors. Through six servomotors, the system is able to deliver the desired amount and compiled through the numeric disk. Operations are protected by a pin code that can be changed by the user by selecting the option from the menu. The system is complex both from the programming point of view and from the mechanical point of view. The project was carried out by a teamwork of four people. Presented at

SEVEN HISTORICAL SUITES

2018 UX & COMMUNICATION Seven Historical Suites is a boutique hotel in the heart of Trieste. The architecture, furnishing and history of Seven make it a unique place. Here the task of the designer was to organize the functional spaces in a harmonious way and to create a narration to the visitor. Through a dedicated social channel the visitor is offered the chance to discover curiosities on every corner of the structure and to know anecdotes about the city. The catalog, information, business cards: each element creates a coordinated and formal communication to convey attention to detail and care for the guest.

TEPEE

2017 PRODUCT DESIGN Tepee is an exhibitor for fingerfood and drinks inspired by the jewelery world and the 1950s. Its soft lines allow the user to move to three hundred and sixty degrees around the fulcrum: food. The exposed element becomes the center of the stage so the spotlight on the product becomes fundamental to its discovery. The single, removable housing, as needed, reveals the uniqueness of the product, the componibility and it represents conceptually the casket. The side pockets allow you to pull out the take-away packaging designed for convenience and space saving. Large supports allow the user to place the product on the transport packaging in a convenient and safe way. Tepee will be the refercence for your small appetites, the gift you will take at a last-minute friends dinner.

CUSTOMIZATION The most iconic Coca-Cola advertising and products are those of the 1950s, with their graphics and slogans becoming part of the collective imagination of the time and are back in vogue. Coca-Cola itself in its current advertisements uses filters, scenes and typical looks from the 1950s on its site and in its promotional videos. Tepee dresses Coca-Cola and becomes a brand ambassador. The lines take on the classic 1950s, but they hint with references to the iconic brand products. Bindi is an Italian company that produces spoon cakes throughout the world and beyond. Tepee also focuses on products of this type, so analyzing the brand was interesting in order to propose an exclusive exhibitor that would enhance the Bindi brand and translate the product into the form. Tepee lines recall the geometries and colors of the ice cream cup. Tepee becomes the refreshment point, the kiosk for a refreshment, a pleasant break from the frenzied pace to be enjoyed with a quality product.

KIKKA

2017 PRODUCT DESIGN Kikka is a coffee table designed for environments with limited space. The project is born within IKEA’s production, and is therefore designed to be easily assembled by the user, with eco-sustainable materials and in use by the Swedish company and geometries that facilitate storage. Kika is a decorative item that will make reading comfortable in the living room, organizing magazines and remote controls in its two floors and going against your style. Kikka’s legs are customizable and available in four alternatives to the white and natural wood color inspired by the 1960s. The shelf is proposed in two variants: glass and laminate-chipboard in bright colors. Kikka is designed according to IKEA’s design principles and is therefore reversibly assembled using components and hardware already in the company’s catalog. The company has aimed at eliminating as far as possible hardware components from its products to facilitate assembly, reduce materials and facilitate dismantling. For this reason, in addition to being composed of a limited number of pieces, the table legs are designed to fit directly into the recessed part in the lower panel.
