Experience art, music and performance from dusk with Federation Square’s annual winter program, The Light in Winter.
The Light in Winter is directed by arts luminary Robyn Archer AO and is now in its eighth year. It brings together local and international artists for free events, performances and exhibitions, culminating in the Solstice Celebration on the true winter solstice, Saturday 21 June.
Each year the program seeks to enlighten audiences through artistic interpretations of a central theme. This year we explore ideas about the cycles and circles of life. These are represented in the world premiere of Radiant Lines, an interactive light installation by exciting UK architect Asif Khan, while Indonesia’s Papermoon Puppet Theatre join forces with Melbourne’s Cake Industries to construct whimsical shrines to the past present and future, titled Anachron.
