WOMEN'S SOCCER Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's soccer team captured their sixth consecutive Skyline Conference Championship after a 3-1 victory over top-seeded Mount Saint Mary College in the Skyline Finals. The Rams traveled to Wheaton College in Norton, Mass. for the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Tournament. Farmingdale State faced Williams in the first round and trailed 1-0 at half before eventually falling 2-0. The Rams finished the season with a 13-8 overall record. Sophomore defender Andrea Kiefer (Centereach, N.Y.) was named the conference's Defensive Player of the Year and a First Team All-Star, while senior forward Corine Magee (Mastic, N.Y.) and senior midfielder Christina Merrill (Levittown, N.Y.) also both earned First Team honors. Senior defender Jillian Lasota (Massapequa, N.Y.), senior midfielder Theresa Martorano (Commack, N.Y.), freshman forward Ashlee Thompson (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) and freshman goalkeeper Breanna Blair (Littleton, Colo.) were named to the Second Team. Thompson had a team-high 10 goals, while Merrill scored nine and had a team-leading nine assists for 27 points. Magee was third on the team with six goals, including four game-winning scores, while Martorano and senior forward Carly Schneider (Merrick, N.Y.) each tallied four scores.

Farmingdale State led Division III in field-goal percentage defense and rebounding margin, holding opponents to 35.7% shooting and pulling down an average of 11.8 more rebounds per game. The team was led by senior forward AJ Matthews (Brooklyn, N.Y.), who led the nation in rebounding (14.7 per game) and double-doubles (20). Matthews also finished 7th nationally for blocked shots per game (2.88) and 9th in scoring with 22.6 points per game. He received three All-American awards, was named All-District Player of the Year and was also selected First Team All-Met and First Team All-Conference. Senior guard Ryan Davis (Flushing, N.Y.) led the team in assists and steals and was 2nd on the team in scoring with 13.5 points per game. Davis led the conference in minutes played, finished 3rd in the conference for sssists per game (4.35), 4th for 3-point field goals made (2.54) and 5th for steals (2.04). Senior guard Christian Nunez (White Plains, N.Y.) posted career-high's in his senior season, averaging 21 minutes with 7.4 points and 3.1 rebounds per game.

Bonilla led the women as she finished in 24th place with a time of 22.40.68, while sophomore Druscilla Dickson (Copiague, N.Y.) placed 37th for the Rams. Frederic led the men at the St. John's Fall Festival held at Cunningham Park with a 10th place finish in a time of 17:40.47 on the 5000m course. At the season opening Hofstra Invitational, both the men's and women's teams each finished in seventh place. Freshman Sean Hall (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) ran a team-best 18:26:00, while Bonilla led the women with a time of 22:44.43. In the spring, the Farmingdale State golf team traveled to the NCAA Division III Golf Championships held in Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort in Destin, Florida. The Rams finished in a tie for 32nd place.

Sahner led the Rams in hitting percentage, ranked second in kills (185), kills per game (2.98), service aces (30) and digs (171). Freshman setter Megan Pisciotta (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) led the Rams with 462 assists and a 5.78 assist per set average, while also adding 120 digs and 21 service aces. Sahner led the Rams in hitting percentage, ranked second in kills (185), kills per game (2.98), service aces (30) and digs (171). Freshman setter Megan Pisciotta (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) led the Rams with 462 assists and a 5.78 assist per set average, while also adding 120 digs and 21 service aces. The Rams traveled to Montclair State for the NCAA Division III Softball Tournament. Farmingdale State fell to both Susquehanna and Roger Williams and finished the year with a 24-17 record.

Sophomore pitchers Taylor Webb (West Babylon, N.Y.) and Taylor Tedeschi (Levittown, N.Y.) anchored the Farmingdale State staff. Webb, the Skyline Tournament MVP, was 13-9 on the season with a 3.21 ERA, while striking out 103 batters in 133 innings pitched. Tedeschi held a 3.63 ERA and a 10-7 record this season. Anderson was named the Skyline Conference Rookie of the Year and captured First Team honors, while Flint, Jarczynski and Mongiello were also named First Team All-Conference. The Rams are graduating four seniors this year.

The Rams posted record numbers for wins, points, goals scored, assists, draw controls and caused turnovers. Farmingdale State finished 15-3 overall and fell in the Skyline Championship game to Montclair State. The Rams went 10-0 in conference play, claiming the regular-season Skyline Title for just the second time in school history. Sophomore attack Nicole Marzocca (West Babylon, N.Y.) and sophomore midfielder Christy Thoden (Bayport, N.Y.) led the scoring with career-high numbers, both finishing with 92 poitns. Marzocca broke the school record for goals in a season with 58. Thoden posted 38 goals and 54 assists, breaking the school record for caused turnovers, assists, points and draw controls.
Senior attack and captain Carly Schneider (Merrick, N.Y.) finished with 42 goals and 16 assists this year. Sophomore midfielder Jackie Kennedy (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) tallied 19 goals, while sophomore midfielder Alyssa Handel (Medford, N.Y.) scored 30 goals. Defensively, senior captain Jillian Pironti (Seaford, N.Y.), junior Tatiana Pena (Hicksville, N.Y.) and freshmen Jacqueline LaMay (Huntington Station, N.Y.) and Sarah Gerner (Levittown, N.Y.) anchored the Rams.
