MARÉ CIDADE
The urban intervention in the Maré region, Rio de Janeiro, develops as a response to the need to rethink the disruptive relationship between the fabric of the favela and the city. Starting with the premise that the Maré region is endowed with unparalleled and vigorous urbanity, the intervention is placed in a way to support this urban vitality and expand it through the articulation of open space systems, urban infrastructure, housing and equipment public. All, democratic and universalizing. All of these issues can be improved with a sensitive proposal for urban design and landscaping that aims to reveal Maré to the city and establish it as part of the urban fabric of Rio de Janeiro. After all, this region is significant for the metropolis where it operates, so recognized throughout the country. Therefore, the intervention can be seen as a bridge that joins borders that were not able to connect, an intersection between spaces that coexist, but cannot share their social scope. An attempt was made to create a system of interventions, based mainly on the system of open spaces, which includes the recovery and design of streets, public spaces, housing supply and integration into the local material and immaterial heritage in a new conscious urban occupation.

The pressure for housing is continuous in the region, in this sense it was sought to propose plots for housing to ensure th would not increase this deficit in the area. Inspired by the design of Demetre Anastassakis, the proposal pursuit to reach hig time, create the in between spaces from public and private and avoid the condominiumization of the space. Besides, thi combine commerce and housing, bringing services and jobs closer to the population.

Stream Intervention
In order to reestablish the relation of Maré with its past history and to intensify its own narratives, it was important to intervene in a manner to ressignify its relation with the water. In this sense, grafitis were proposed to remit to Maré’s historical past, taking in account the constant coping with the water. Furthermore, the stream that currently passes through Darcy Vargas Street is treated as a linear park near to the bus terminal, with a large square which gives the best opportunity to have visual contact with the water.

The interventions were thought in a manner to utilize the historical graphite and the cooperation of the people that the appropriation of the space be a collective construct. These spaces can also make place to the intense street market v that, those interventions have great potential to serve as a walkway for pedestrians, diluting the size of the big industrial blo within the urban fabric.

The design sought to comprehend the structures of the place in order to potentialize them. Firstly, the strength of the paved ring is recognized as the structuring of the design and, thus, the hierarchy systems are constituted, and even new elements are inserted in this hierarchy, intensifying it, as is the case of the paved path that runs through the center of the park. The blocks arranged in a casual way, as if located freely on the ground, gain cohesion with the new spatial fabric promoted by the promontory. The promontory is the great articulator of the elements of the park, promoting cohesion between the parts with the whole. The commercial building inside the park seeks to insert itself into the landscape without affecting it. To this end, it was semi-buried on the promontory created in the central area of the park and, thus, the project, in addition to functioning as a shelter for the commercial activities that will take place on the site, will also serve as a viewpoint for the beautiful views now enhanced by the promontory and finished off by the canopy above the building. Its structure was designed to have large spans to allow the variety of uses: several shops and restaurants manage to make the space adaptable to their needs, facilitating rotation when necessary.

As a predominant aspect of the design, the built topography manages to better organize the hierarchy of uses of the park as well as to construct with the landscape aspects of spatial reading. From the new topography, the park is reorganized to receive the use programs.

The elevated highway João Goulart with the decrease of use for cars has now plans to become a elevated park in the city of São Paulo. Along with the transformation proposal of Elevado João Goulart in an elevated park, this project aims to insert a structure within this space to comprehend what are the limits and potentialities of this change. The structure was thought as a temporary shelter and it must be installed in a curve along the highway which opens its views, through São João Avenue, to one of most iconic buildings of São Paulo: Edifício Altino Arantes. The form of the structure was conceived from an a priori analysis of the funicular shape of the bamboo stripes. The secondary structure attached to the first one has the role to receive the thrust generated from the principal structure in a way to stabilize the whole structure. The whole structure was previously tested using Grasshopper and Kangaroo, making sure that the bamboo stripes would resist the stress which is solicited by the form.

The Garden of Earthly Delights
The house is our place in the world. In this last year this statement was ressignified and the dwelling gained a new role in our coditian. Along with the growth of home offices, our sensible structures are shaken once again, making ilogic the segregation between public and private. In that sense the structures of our privacy are no longer attached to the physical barriers but virtual barriers. The manner in which we look into ourselves has turned from space to our objects. In this regard, three elements are the key for our proposal: 1) the dissolution of domestic hierarchy; 2) the deconstruction of cartesian space in order to rethink the design of a dwelling through the point of view of a landscape architecture; 3) a persuavesy privacy, which shows it self all around for the pleasure of the voyeurs. Therefore, the space, although unified, can not be comprehended at one glance, it can only be experienced by fragments of a serial view. The complete image of the house cannot be captured at least the dweller captures those fragments while moving throughout the house.

Rethinking the Republic Square
The Republic Square in the city of São Paulo has great historical value for São Paulo society. The square was the scene of several social struggles and cultural demonstrations over the time of its existence, but, above that, the square behaves like a landmark. It represents the conquest of what the São Paulo citizens call the new center, a place whose occupation was difficult due to the need to cross the Anhangabaú River. In addition, the square is also equipped with the old Caetano de Campos School, currently the São Paulo State Department of Education. In this way, the intervention sought to reestablish the meaning of Praça da República, rehabilitating the memory of the old kindergarten, a place that was part of the square, but which was demolished. Thereby is possible to access the lookout installed above the current São Paulo State Department of Education, allowing a visual never before achieved by the citizens of São Paulo.

Wilton Paes Memorial
The Wilton Paes de Almeida building was a modernist project from the 60s, produced by Roger Zmekhol and listed by CONPRESP in 1992. With the emptying of the city center, the building was abandoned by its owners and some years ago it was occupied by the Movement of Struggle for Decent Housing (LMD). On May 1, 2018, after ninety minutes of being consumed by the flames, the building collapsed. On this day, 146 families still lived in the occupation. The proposal seeks to produce a memorial for the place, a structure that mimics not only the building, but the moment of the building collapse. A memorial for the victims, for the public neglect regarding occupations in the City of São Paulo and for those who pretend to use the city as a mean for expoliation.
