Dear Parents and Guardians: It is my hope that Goodnight Magic Shoes becomes a classic bedtime story for your family. Goodnight Magic Shoes was created from a poem that I wrote about a small tot, perhaps near the age of your child. The poem provides a source of inspiration to build a fun, fast moving, and imaginative story that traces the “steps” of your toddler throughout the day, as compared later, to where your toddler’s imagination actually thinks of the “magic shoes.” My prayer is that you and your family find Goodnight Magic Shoes as a basis for conversation with your toddler regarding their day. Each night, discuss the things your child did throughout the day, from their perspective. This promotes healthy family time, language and imagination. Lastly, I pray that Goodnight Magic Shoes feeds your child’s inquisitive and curious nature. Don’t we all love when our little tots ask the “Why” questions, over and over again, all day? Don’t fret, it’s their nature; and Goodnight Magic Shoes is a great starter to the question: “What happens to my shoes while I sleep soundly at night?”

When the moon appears in the dark sky, my eyes get heavy. I think about my day.
Today I got up early in the morning and after I washed my face and brushed my teeth, Daddy gave me my brand new shoes.
He helped me tie the laces and then we went out.
Today, I ran. I jumped and I even splashed in the mud with my brand new shoes.
Before it was time to go to sleep, Daddy untied my shoes and put them on the side of my bed. He lifted me into his lap for a bedtime story but before I fell asleep, I imagined that my brand new shoes had left my bedside!
I watched my magic shoes float out of my window and up, up, up, and away, high in the sky above our house.
