Turn the power switch on the Control Box to the ON position.

This key enables and disables the machine

Push the blue RESET button. You should hear the contactors click on. The Reset button must be pushed every time the Control Box is turned on or after the Estop has been tripped and released.

Start the ShopBot Control Software on your computer. Double-click the ShopBot 3 icon on your computer desktop or go to lower left corner of the screen and select Start > Programs > ShopBot > Sb3. The ShopBot Control windows will appear. The left toggle switch in the red Position window should be set up to Move/Cut, not down to Preview mode.


Set zero for the X, Y and Z axes? – Go to page 2 “Homing the Tool”. Run a cutting file? - Go to page 3 “Load and Run a ShopBot Part File”. Just start the router/spindle 1. Type “K” to enter keypad mode if not already in keypad mode. Use the arrow keys on your computer to move the Z-axis. 2. Turn on Output #1 by holding down the Alt key and pressing the 1 key or click the Output #1 switch on the yellow keypad. This enables operation of the router/spindle. 3. Push the green Start button on the side of the ShopBot Control Box. 4. To turn off router and leave keyboard mode, Esc. To turn off router but stay in keyboard mode to move tool, type Alt-1 or click the Output #1 switch.
