Position a round metal blank from the metal press kit on the stamping block and secure in place with masking tape, leaving a space where you want to stamp. This will prevent it slipping while you work.
Mark the masking tape at intervals with a black pen to show where you want each letter to be.
Take your first letter stamp and place it face down on the blank. Ensure it is the right way up and in line with your first mark. The stamp should be upright at a 90º angle against the blank. With the hammer, tap the end of the stamp firmly, just once. Avoid hitting the stamp multiple times as it may cause the stamp to move and blur the edges of the letter imprint. Carefully move along the blank, stamping each letter as you go. Once you’ve finished stamping, use a damp cloth to polish the blank and bring out the natural shine of the metal.
Using pearlescent acrylic paint and an artist’s paintbrush, carefully paint both sides of your wooden snowflake embellishments. Leave to dry.
Using jewellery pliers, carefully prise apart the ends of a jump ring. Slide the ring through a suitable hole on a snowflake embellishment and gently press the ring closed once more using the pliers. Repeat this method to add jump rings to each of the stamped metal blanks.
Attach a jump ring through the hole at the base of a silver plated hanging hoop. Before you close this jump ring, thread on the jump rings attached to the stamped blank and snowflake, making sure the stamped blank is face-up on top of the snowflake. Carefully close the jump ring using jewellery pliers. To attach the wine charm to a glass, pull apart the hanging loop, place it around the stem, then push the end of the loop back into its housing.
