Not far from my home and chosen for their pedigree these sheep provide us with a beautiful high lustre 2 fold yarn knitting as 4ply.

PROVENANCE

This is the main reason I became a yarn producer,I need to see where my yarn comes from.The yarn comes from sheep I can visit every day and the Zwartbles are often at my fence all year round.The Shetlands and the Blue faced Leicester just over the hill and the prized Rare breed Teeswater just along the valley.The clip is used from the same flock for the whole batch ,there is no mixing from differing flocks and this also gives better yarn.

These animals survive harsh conditions at over 1400ft high up in the North Pennines and produce prized wool.

Holey Moley Shawl

the triangular half mesh shawl is the worked from the top down producing beautiful shaded variances on the colour from the mesh side to the solid.

Zwartbles yarn differs slightly every year and ranges form very dk chocolate colour to rich milk chocolate. I believe this is a weather variable.
