The FCM line The FELZER nordAQUA FCM line consists of 15 machines with capacities ranging from 110 to 520 kW, using scroll compressors. Thanks to the most advanced components and solutions, the entire line combines low-noise and high-performance with maximum reliability.

Machines can be supplied in either “cool only” or “reversible (cooling and heating)” versions. You can choose between energy efficiency classes, microchannel or copper-aluminium condensers. You can also select among options for low-noise operation, free cooling, partial heat recovery, built-in hydronic pump packages, and other solutions to fit your needs. Yes, you can use FELZER nordAQUA FCMs if you are looking to cut electricity costs and require a class A machine, if you want to cheaply heat water using heat recovery in your hot water supply or heating system, or if you just don’t see the point in wasting power on compressors in the winter and want to take advantage of free cooling. Yes, you can save you money and buy reliable and high-quality class B or C machine. The FCM line offers a wide range of possibilities to the profeccionals in managing energy efficiency.

In contrast to most of our competitors, the compressors used in our chillers do not exceed single capacity of 25 tons. At partial load, which in most areas of Europe is 95% of the time, the chillers ensure the smallest reasonable changes in cooling capacity when shifting between stages, which is regulated by an advanced control algorithm. Our gradually-regulated chillers are as close as you can get to constant regulation.

The noise from the chiller is muted thanks to a set of implemented solutions. Many of these we offer as options, since not all buildings require them. But the effectiveness of the option depends on the basic solutions chosen. And it is here that Felzer is one step ahead. Our chillers use one of the best fans in Europe and the latest generation of compressors. The sturdy cabinet and well-planned construction eliminates noise from component vibration that cannot be controlled by other means.

All chiller components are produced in the European Union and have the CE marking. The machines are assembled in Northern Europe. That, in addition to the sturdy construction of the cabinet, eliminates excess noise and prevents breakage.

We have solutions for the harsh continental climate of central Russia, with temperatures that range from -40°С in the winter and +45°С in the summer, for the chilly Scandinavian climate where it doesn’t often go above +25°С, and for the moderate climate of Germany and the Alpine countries. The body of the chiller is made from galvanized steel and coated with a long-lasting powder coating, protecting it from rust in the most difficult conditions. The large selection of coatings for the condensers allows you to place our chillers near corrosive agents.

MICROCHANNEL CONDENSER OPTION 130

At the core of FELZER nordAQUA FCM machines are the copper-aluminium condensers. They have been thoroughly tested on the market, and are an excellent and reliable solution. Microchannel all-aluminium condensers have been widely used on “cool only” machines since the end of the 1990s. They can be included in the FELZER nordAQUA FCM as well (you can find the specifications for the two versions of the machine in the specifications table. Microchannel condensers have a number of advantages over copper and aluminium condensers. First, they are lighter and more compact; the machines in which they are installed require up to 60% less refrigerant charge. Second, they are made from a single metal, which protects them from galvanic corrosion. Third, they are easier to clean – just run them under a stream of highly pressurized water. And fourth, all of these advantages together make this solution more capital-intensive. Microchannel condensers cannot be used in heat pumps, since they cannot also function as evaporators. The copper and aluminium condensers have their advantages as well. First, the air-cooled fins of microchannel condensers are more affected by contamination. Therefore, if the condenser is not regularly cleaned, with time the fins become plugged up and the machine’s performance level drops. Second, copper and aluminum condensers can be repaired, while repairing microchannel condensers is quite difficult. If there is a high risk that the condenser will be mechanically damaged, it is best to choose a copper and aluminum condenser. In particularly aggressive environments, either option may be better, depending on other factors. See option 131A/B/C and consult with Felzer specialists.

PROTECTIVE OPTIONS OPTIONS 132A/B/C/D • Protective side panels on the cooling towers (option 132D) protect the pipes from the condenser from physical damage, and also serve a decorative purpose. • The security grille (option 132A) protects the chiller from infiltration by people and large animals. • The mesh strainer on the condenser (option 132С) protects the condenser from large contaminants (poplar fluff, insects, large stones, etc.). FANS WITH EC MOTORS OPTION 133A Allows for smooth control of the condensation pressure and decreases energy consumption. INDOOR INSTALLATION FANS WITH AVAILABLE PRESSURE AND DISCHARGE DUCTS OPTION 134 Installation of fans that allow heated air to be expelled from the chiller’s condensers through air ducts allows you to install the chiller indoors. SOUND OPTIONS

• Sound shells on the compressors (low-noise option) (option 231). • Sound casing on the compressor and low-speed fans (extra-quiet option) (options 232A and 232B).

CONDENSER COATINGS OPTION 131A/B/C

In highly aggressive environments (the seaside, chemical production, etc.), it is recommended that you use either copper and aluminium condensers with Blygold coating or microchannel compressors with either e-coating or Blygold coating. WORK AT LOW TEMPERATURES AND WITH A LIGHT LOAD: REGULATING FAN SPEED OPTION 431A/B At a low ambient temperature (below +12°С, to -20°С), a condensation pressure necessary for the compressor to operate must be maintained. If there is no EC motor, this can be done using other methods of regulating fan speed. We propose two options:

WORK AT LOW TEMPERATURES AND WITH A LIGHT LOAD: PROTECTING THE EVAPORATOR AND HYDRONIC PUMP PACKAGE FROM FREEZING OPTION 432A/B, 433 If it is necessary to work in freezing ambient temperatures (below +5°С, to -20°С), or when chilling liquids to temperatures close to freezing, you must also prevent the liquid in the evaporator from freezing (since this may damage it). At low temperatures, a glycol solution must therefore be used. However, if freezing is a 15 possibility, we suggest the following options for work at these temperatures: TE

HYDRONIC PUMP PACKAGES OPTIONS 331A/B/C/D AND 339A FELZER nordAQUA FCM chillers can come with hydronic pump packages that allow you to save space and cut installation expenses. There are 4 versions of hydronic pump package available: with one or two pumps, and high or low pressure. The storage tank is installed separately from the chiller, but can be shipped together with it. The thermal insulation is done in-factory, and the tanks are well protected from corrosion.
