INNER SPACE BY fENIA kOTSOPOULOU & DAZ dISLEY
“INNER SPACE”: a photo project inspired by the concept of “non place” by Marc Augé, refering to places that can be not defined as relational, historical and concerned with identity. What might be a “nonplace” to someone can be a place to someone else. Abandoned places give the sensation of accumulated histories, familiar territories, forgotten places on the verge of regeneration where a”liminal” experience take place once you inhabit them. The artistic duet “φK/Δ2” (Engl. “fk/D2”) exists since 2013 in the field of video-art, photography, performance and improvisation. Daz Disley (UK) : digital sound and video artist, programmer and photographer. Fenia Kotsopoulou (GR) : inter-disciplinary artist combining performance, dance, video and photography. She holds an MFA in Choreographing Live Art, BA Hons in Dance, BA Hons in Italian Language & Literature. Their collaboration is an attempt to find common language between their disciplines in order to represent and transliterate emotional states present in and generated in response to situation, place and space. Taking account of the boundaries and dialogues between space and performance, they use alternative and experimental processes in order to realise a unified expressive output working with both digital and analogue photographic processes. Their video works have featured at a multitude of international festivals, and during 2015 both were independently selected to exhibit visual works at virtualgallery.com. © Fenia Kotsopoulou & Daz Disley
