METAREACTIONS collaborative photo project by Fenia Kotsopoulou

“Performance cannot be saved, recorded, documented, or otherwise participate in the circulation of representations of representations: once it does so, it becomes something other than performance” Peggy Phelan, Unmarked, p146

“MetaReactions” is a project in which performance, photography, documentation and post-processing are interwoven in order to create an alternative imagery generated from the original live event revealing new ways of experiencing it. This book portfolio showcases few examples of this project. The original photographs from the documentation of the performance/installation are displayed on the left side while the manipulation of the photo inspired by the piece are displayed on the right side. Featured artworks by: Kate Buckley, Amy Hewitt, General Practice, Rebecca & Katy Beinart.

DOMUS by AMY HEWITT

’Domus’ is a site-specific sculpture and performance by fine artist, Amy Hewitt (Ditritus and other -1.5m x 8m). The work affirms the acceptance and breaking away of becoming. Through gathering and hoarding, stealing away from the everyday, the nest becomes, and is embodied. The work takes from as passions sober lining, to evoke a sorrowful pleasure.
