ABOUT ME I’m an senior year Architecture Student at ITESM. I have been a visiting student at the University of Vasque Country and Brigham Young University, where I expanded my knowledge on Construction Management, Urbanism and Visual Arts. I’ve worked as a Graphic Designer and illustrator, focusing on company identities, as well as packaging design and character design. My professional experience began at a local architectural studio under Architects Villarreal & Vallarta. I proceeded to do an internship in a studio on San Sebastian, Gupizcoa Spain, where I did site supervision and context research and helped on various projects.

I gained profesional experience as a graphic designer working at Nova Ink doing logo redesigns, shirt designs. Then I was offered a job at the BYU College of Enegernierring, where I did advertisment, Photography, editorial Design and concepts for events. I search for new and pragmatic solutions on every project by examining each situation or within its own specificity, peculiarity and background context. For me there is no specific creative procedure, each project is differently treated and develops on its own way depending on the desired outcome.

ARCHITECTURE

CEDS CEDS is a prefabricated susteinable education support center conceptualiced on Me’ phaa, Guerrero, a native Mexican community where children must walk 6 kilometers daily to get to school.

Oaxaca Pavillion This is project won the first place of the contest and was built for the 2012 EXPOTEC, where many pavillions represent the culture and traditions of each state of MĂŠxico. I based the design for the pavillion on a local tradition of basket making, which is in essence intertwining dry straws into a design that creates a porosity and texture on the surfaces.

The intertwining techinique was applied on this project to create a surrounding skin with variating porosity. Depending on the use of each of the panels, the porosity can increase to create an access or close up to create a wall surface. This surface layer, supported by timber beam structure framing, is used to define the interior space, creates circulations and can showcase the information and materials exhibited.

Hassan Hotel The Royal Hassan Hotel is architectural project developed applying the surviving properties of desert plants to endure the heat and arid climate of Marrakech, Morocco. For this project the main goal was to achive a building that could use less energy and provide all the quality to the hotel guests, so I rearseched the cactus plants that are able to mantain their temperature even on long periods of heat. The main qualities that I applied to the project are the rugosity of the

shape that protects from the heat, the nucleus that provides a central ventilation system, and the outer shade protection.

Capilla ITESM This project is an ecumenic chapel for a university, located in the middle of a huge garden. It had to be a place of solitude and it had to reflect spirituality.

The Lighting was really important to continue with the concept, it peeks on the walls and ceiling illuminating very precise spots to make a visual contrast and The concept was to give the chapel strenghten the experience. a sense of greatness on the facade so the user feels he is being embraced. The space narrows down as the path of the user gets into the chapel by a series of open, closed spaces that create a rythm. I used the triangular shapes to give the building this effect of entering

Urban Epicenter Urban Epicenter is an architectural project that incorporates a parametric code based on the cellular model. Applying the reproduction, growth patterns and qualities of the cell, we managed to adapt the model into an architechtural proposal.

The framing is created by the syntetized shape of the cell, which covered with an outer layer of clear panels, plain walls or left empty, this allows the program to be distributed depending on the porosity of the overall surface. The bottom part has more clear panels, which decrease with the height. The result was a sustainable very This marks a diferenciation on functional micro climate urban spaces and allows private spaces growth proposal for San Pedro, on the top floors, while the botone of the most growing districts in tom is ideal for public commercial MĂŠxico. purposes & circulations.

Tampiquito Library The concept for this project comes from the site, being located in a hill, this createad all sorts of posibilities adapting it to the topography and generating organic shapes that promote transit and invites the user to discover palaces within. The heart of the project is the reading room, a big circular space that allows natural light for optimal reading conditions. The design incorporates two tubes that are the arteries of the building, they

provide natural ventilation, vertical trasportation and bring natural light into all the floors. This project is a gathering space for two communities. The building had to work integrated with a park and includes areas for recreation, study and learning.

Casa Santiago This project is a house for a modern family with two children. The site is located in Santiago, Nuevo Leon in a gated comunity at the edge of the mountain. The building has three floors. The car acces, laundry and maid's room is on the lowest level. The main entrance, kitchen, living room, dinning and a study on the second level and the bedrooms on the third level.

The house closes to the public eye having very minimal openings on the front and sides (houses on that street are built 4 meters apart from each others) to give privacy. The house opens up on the back to capture the view of the mountains.

Container Hotel This is a project I did while attending Basque Country University in San Sebastian Spain. we had to design and manage the construction for a hotel that could be built within a six day period. We designed the structure so that it could be trasported and assembled on site. The containers were to be aconditioned with acoustic and thermic panels all being held by the structure. My team was Dione Castillo, Francisco Velazco, Alex Nila and Andrea Balderas.

University Stadium Cover This is a prototype for a cover on the Univerity Stadium in Monterrey. The concept is based on the sea shells. The very unique form they have enables them to hold their shape resisting a lot of weight, the surface curvatures give the shell additional support working as a strucure. I applyed the same properties of shape and structure to this cover, giving it strenght and structure.

Magdala This is a prototype for a weekend house that would serve as a sanctuary away from the noises and contamination of the cieties, the purpose was to have as much natural light as possible in every room. It’s designed so the user enjoys the outside view of the forest. The design is very simple, conceptualized by triangles put togather in a way that they maximize each space and give a sence of forced perspective.

The users are business people who need a retreat from work and can enjoy a couple of days with all the comodities of their city house.

BRANDING

Berritzz Berritzz is an european influenced candy so they are very customized. candy brand that sells all types of candy. For the logo I wanted something that reflected the quirkiness of the name, so I ended creating this icon that reflects the essence of the brand. For this project I also created the packaging for various candies, including chocolate pops, sour drops, bags for bulk candy, chocolate bars and macaroons. Each packaging reflects the essence of the

Cucara Macara

Cucara Macara is a restaurant that features dishes from all over the world. This was a challenge as typically the restaurant specialises in one theme, for the logo I was looking to reflect a global icon, that could round up all the different dishes and cultures. The circle ended up representing Pangea, the first continent in the planet before it slipped apart into the

continents we have now. We opted for the elephant as the main icon because the impact of Africa in the owner. Also the elephant is a sign of elegance, magnitude, fidelity, sophistication and quality.

Sicasus Sicasus is a company that makes sustainable heaters that run on recycled materials. For the icon I wanted to represent a never ending cycle of recycled energy surrounding a flame, that represents the heat. The typology in tis logo is very exquisite and simple because I wanted to reflect the modernity and simpleness of the product.

C'est mon CrĂŞpe! C'est mon CrĂŞpe! is a cafe and creperie that was looking for a logo that could depict the essence of the fresh parisian lifestyle with a whimsical touch. I ended up creating this simple icon of a stylized crepe and two parisians enjoying the beautiful city of Paris.

Pikka Hut Pikka Hut is a snack hut where you can buy smoothies, refreshments, chips with and other kinds of spicy snacks. The whole theme of the place was Polynesian and California beach style. Pica means spicy in spanish. The main icon represents a polynesian mask that has tried a very spicy smothie, so the hair is up and the mouth is open. The typography is as it were stones threw together and the surrounding square are bamboo sticks.

The interior design is Hawaiian beach inspired, the service area is literally a little shack. There is a sail on the roof and other sailing equipment hanging around. The walls were painted with ocean and palms designs.

Royal Hassan Royal Hassan Hotel is architectural project designed applying the surviving properties of desert plants to endure the heat and arid climate of Marrakech, Morocco. For the logo I wanted something that reflected on the procedure of the building and the majestuosity of the construction, so I ended up basing in the shape of the floor plans .

FM-Architecture and Design Studio For this icon I wanted to make a simple jet powerful icon that could represent my work as an architect and designer. I ended up combining my initials and merging them into a circle. For the branding I used contrasting colors like black and red, black and white over gray backgrounds.

Nova Ink Nova Ink is company located in Provo, Utah that has ten years of experience doing screen printing, embroidery and business cards. The owner wanted a fresh and new logo that resembled the quality and modenity of the company.

Compendio de Sue単os de Feridunm This is a webpage I designed for a compendium of dreams and pictures. The logo had to reflect the world of the dreams so it's a cloud made from circles and the fonts go with the same theme. The layout is very much like a vintage store, it has quotes, and all sorts of weird old fascinating stuff.

Dely Donas Dely Donas is a company that sells mini dough nuts in a variety of flavors and toppings. The target market is children so the colors on the logo are sweet and the font looks as if it was written by a kid to give it a fun and fresh look. It also presents a very friendly girl dressed as a chef to give the doughnuts a home made look.

Observatorium For this logo the custumer gave me an image of the Mayan Observatory in Tutum and asked me to make a logo out of it for his newly developed consulting sofware. I wanted to create an aerodynamic yet modern logo that extracted the essence of the Mayan building, by applying light and shaping the shadows it casts on itself I managed to achieve my resuls and the custumer’s need.

Swiming Club A swimming club in Mexico City was looking to brand its company and asked me to do a logo that represented their business. I wanted to create something dynamic and modern for the typography, but at the same time apealing to children, as that is their main custumer. I designed a shark swirling as the icon to give the company that appeal to children.

CEDS Centro De Soporte a la educacion basica is a non gubermental organization that helps educate children on basic subjects, like writing and reading. I wanted to create a logo that represented a seed in its early stages, having lots of potential to be great but in need of nutrients which in this case is the education. The name also contributes to this concept, as it is pronounced similar to “seeds.

Chipotlery Smelly Melly This is logo redesign for a restaurant that makes Mexican Food. I wanted to create a simple font that could capture the sliminess and playfulness of salsa, as it someone had taken a finger and started to write with it. For the pepper I wanted to exagerate the features, making the swirls more curly and the curves more accentuated.

Smelly Melly Gumy Ballon is a gummy candy shaped like ballonfilled with a unique deliciuos smell. For the logo I wanted to represent all the key elements of the experience that the candy provides to the consumer. The font is curvy as if it were gas. The string of the ballon is used as a font to describe the product.
