Oficina en Casa Residential

////////////////////////////////////////// A house which exhibit itself as an occupiable work. The use of repetitive modular system accepts the efficiency of prefab construction techniques but seeks an open-endlessness for the growth/ shrink and expansion/shrink of the space are from how a Sculptor with his family of three and five sculptor assistants. The individual structure gives an opportunity for the members to rotate and shift in the angle to suit the programmatic change, create the controlled the light scenes with dynamic arches and frames and give the infinish aesthetic appearance. The house – Frames + arches - create very open covered spaces for the living The office – Negative pieces - function as a columns, holding structure and the rotation help with the control of the density of light.

Museum of Machanical Artefacts + Waste to Energy ////////////////////////////////////////// The project focus on the integration of the two programs which are the incinerator and the museum. Under the same massive tri-cantilevering nose lift structure, the project is both reveal and conceal the mechanical components as to express its aesthetic of the machine power and the relationship to the human scale. According to the site, the building introduces and evokes the notion of the area and its condition to the industial and urban areas. Furthermore, the play of the hanging incinerator at the main entrance is to create the anti-gravity lightness illusion to the visual sense.

As the project is dealing with the extreme climate, sound and smell pollutions, the triangular structure provides four main different entrances to the building. First, is the public entrance at the top right corner where the subway, car and other transportations located. Second, yatchs and other water transportations. Third, the top left entrance for the garbage trucks and land barge transporation.

Residential - Tower ////////////////////////////////////////// Following urban growth in Downtown Brooklyn, vertical structure is generated to served people need of living in the city. One of the approaches in this project is the direct connection to the transportation. As that focus, I then also suggest new hub and additional activities for public access. The programme are divided into two main parts which are plaza from the below ground until level 4 and residential area above. Beside plaza, nursery, gym, swimming pool are also provided to public. Another thought here is to reduce the direct notices from ground level.

Learning space and hub ////////////////////////////////////////// One of the most significant concept of learning process is to let a person directly experience or encounter the real situation by him/herself. To emphasize this idea, I am suggesting the way that student can do an experiment and at least understand more about nature. I then put the shot cut way for student to learn though experiencing a complex of the sun, water soil and small biology system (insectarium) into my programme.

Private - Public //////////////////////////////////////////

Provide public share space through the underground and first floor plan. The main entrance is on the street level and connect to the second entrance on the underground level which only one block away from the subway station. Adding double high space cafe and open the side to the direct sunlight. The private space which are the middle school program is sitting partial on the first floor to the roof. The main stair case is the core of the circulation for the school and also allow the light into the spaces. On the top two floor mainly are the classrooms and the school library and the small auditorium.
