You will need:
A roller ball glue
A pair of Scissors
4 sheets of coloured paper, 2 of each colour
A pencil or Marker Pen A sheet of very thick cardboard A glue stick
1. Using scissors cut 2 of the toilet rolls into two, all at different height measurements.
3 toilet rolls
2. Roughly measure out a strip of coloured paper to fit inside the roll. Either use a glue stick to stick the paper and insert it gentley pushing down on the inside or use sticky tape to secure the paper in place.
3. Now using the other coloured paper roughly measure out a strip to fit around the outside of the roll and secure in place using a glue stick.
4. You now need to trim off the excess paper at the top and bottom of the tube and repeat the process for the other 4 tubes. You should now have 5 tubes which look something like this.
5. Using the card pencil on a shape that will fit all of the tubes onto it, allowing a rim around the edge.
6. Cut around the outline of the shape using scissors.
7. Get a sheet of the coloured paper you desire and trace aound the card shape onto the paper using a pencil.
8. Cut around the shape using scissors and use a glue stick to glue the paper onto the cardboard base.
9. Use the roller glue stick to glue around the bottom of the rolls and stick them one by one onto the base ensuring to press firmly down for a few minutes to secure in place.
10. Allow the rolls 4 hours to dry firmly in place before starting to put items into the tubes.
You should now have a make-up brush holder that looks something like this. It also makes the perfect stationary holder for keeping your desk tidy. Why not try using wrapping paper or wallpaper for a different effect.
How to Make a Basic Silver Bracelet With Charm This guide will show you how to make a silver plated elastic bracelet with an attached charm.
You will need: Some silver plated beads (approximatley 24) Some seethrough elastic thread A charm A clamp bead A Squeeze ring A pair of Scissors Jewellery making pliers
1. Thread the clamp bead onto the elastic. Tip: It’s important that your bead is large enough to fit two strands of the elastic thread through the hole.
2. Start to thread the silver beads onto the elastic.
3. Continue threading the beads onto the thread until you reach half of your desired length. Tip: Make sure at this point that the beads on the thread measure half way around your wrist.
4. Place the squeeze ring onto one of the plier ends and pull it down until the ring starts to open so that there is enough to put it through the charm.
6. Thread the ring through the charm and use the pliers to close the ring back up so that the charm is secure and cannot fall off.
7. Thread the charm onto the elastic thread and continue adding the other half of the silver beads.
8. Once you have all of the beads on the elastic thread you need to put the end of the thread back through the clamp bead and pull the thread tight.
9. Use the pliers to push down on the clamp bead to secure the elastic thread in place.
10. The bracelet should now look like this. You now need to use the scissors to carefully cut of the ends off the loose elastic thread.
You should now have a finished bracelet that looks something like this. Now try creating different combinations with the beads and even try adding a hook clasp. Turn over to the next page to see some inspirational ideas for your next bracelet design.
