Innovation
Passion and commitment is what propelled the Ferretti brothers, Alessandro and Norberto, to create their first motorsailer in 1971. It is this same dedication that continues to guide Ferretti Group in its position as one of the most prestigious motoryacht producers in the world. Passion is what drives the Group to develop unparalleled research and development, nautical performance, and cutting-edge design; it is instilled in everything the Ferretti Group undertakes, and as such, passion stands as a key component of Ferretti’s success and unrivaled reputation.
Visionaries ahead of their time, the Ferretti brothers were devoted to producing not only the best, but also the most advanced motoryachts in the world. As such, many of their innovative masterpieces are still commonplace in the nautical world today, including the stern helm position, the use of swinging windows in the salon which open out onto the cockpit, and the internal passage from the salon to the flying bridge. Trailblazers in every regard, Ferretti Group, has been an industry leader in quality and innovative technology, a characteristic which has always served as a foundation of production, and which

has been the guiding principle towards high performance of design, form, and function. Encompassed within the Ferretti Group is a specialized team comprised of 90 members who follow the production of each vessel, from the project phase to the construction. The Advanced Yacht Technology (AYT), is the Group’s engineering division, and is one of the most advanced naval research and design units in the world, devoted to continuously researching new product and process solutions aimed at achieving excellence and total reliability. Since its inception, Ferretti forever changed the world of motoryachts, and based on the Group’s continued dedication to innovative methodologies, there is no doubt that Ferretti will continue to serve as a pioneer of nautical performance, technology, and originality.
Excellence Since the very beginning, the philosophy of Ferretti Group has always been to develop in the direction of excellence. Each boat has its own precise identity and fingerprint, representing the client’s personality and desires. While the technology may improve a yacht’s performance, all of the brands in the Ferretti Group portfolio are also synonymous with exceptional craftsmanship and style. At Ferretti, designing a yacht goes well beyond the concept of design, towards the pursuit of
maintaining a perfect balance, complementing the radiance with the quality of materials, aesthetic values and practicality. Priding itself in the design features of each of its yachts, the Ferretti Group created Centro Stile Ferrettigroup, a team of architects and designers who skillfully combine quality, attention to detail, safety and performance, Norberto Ferretti in each of their designs. Only in this way can the craft’s owner enjoy the reliability and utmost perfection of a Ferretti Group brand. Ferretti, with its heralded tradition and pursuit of excellence, produces motoryachts worthy of core enthusiasts who not only love being on the water, but are also experts on fine details. These owners admire the yachts for their grace and beauty, but also appreciate the institutional knowledge that makes them technically advanced. While the Ferretti Group continues to evolve, its long-term goal and uncompromising mission remains the same, the emanation of perfection in every yacht. As such, it is this drive towards excellence and the highest standards attainable that will continue to make Ferretti a leader and icon in the world of yachting.

The single plants are specialized in specific boat types and lengths as well as product segmentation. The Group has one of the most advanced production systems and can rely on highly efficient plants based in Forli, Cattolica, S. Giovanni in Marignano, Ancona, Mondolfo, La Spezia, Sarnico; Miami, Florida; and Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Ancona, Italy
Sarnico, italy
Ancona is developed in an area over 872,000 square feet, of which 377,000 square feet is covered, and can accommodate construction of ships up to 90 meters. It is a “multibrand” area dedicated to the construction of the entire CRN fleet and some of the Ferretti Custom Line range and represents one of the largest production facilities in Europe with a private marina. It has undergone an ambitious renovation project of all offices and other facilities. The CRN shipyard has three new technologically advanced facilities that measure 90 meters in length, 28 in width and 25 meters high. Equipped with extract ventilation systems, compressed area, power stations and two overhead cranes to handle materials to go onboard. The covered area has 6 facilities dedicated to steel and aluminum boats and two facilities for the construction of composite maxi and mega yachts.
The Riva shipyard in Sarnico, built in 1842 on the lake Iseo, in the heart of the Franciacorta area, saw the creation of the entire Riva history through its legendary models and continues to create hulls from 27 to 63 feet: Iseo, Aquariva Super, Rivarama, Rivale, SportRiva 56’, 63’ Vertigo, 63’ Virtus, Aquariva Gucci and Aquariva by Marc Newson. The facilities cover an area measuring over 385,000 square feet with over 180,000 square feet of covered space. The daring and futuristic design of this shipyard is protected by the Italian Cultural and Environmental Assets Office and today still represents an example of modern and contemporary architecture.
Ferretti Group’s boats are distinguished by their quality, safety, excellent performance at sea, exclusive design and distinctive charm that make them immediately recognizable.
Cattolica, italy Opened in 2001, the production plant in Cattolica has a total surface area of more than 150,000 square feet with over 29,000 feet of covered area and 16 assembly positions dedicated to the production of Ferretti Yachts, Mochi Craft, and Ferretti Custom Line. This manufacturing plant meets the most modern efficiency criteria and provides for simultaneous building of 16 motoryachts measuring from 20 to 30 meters. The production line layout is based on an “island” construction system in which each position is completely independent. Once a boat is completed it can exit the plant through a front exit, without interfering with work carried out in other positions.
Furthermore, being so close to the sea allows fast and easy test trials. Materials are received and checked thoroughly by the acceptance division.
Mondolfo, italy
sao Paulo, Brazil
The Mondolfo plant, a futuristic space measuring more than 590,000 square feet, has a covered space of 182,000 square feet and is much more than a simple production plant. This new plant is now producing a range of yachts from 50 to 83 feet and reaching the capacity of over 120 boats a year, exclusively sold to Brazilian clients.
La Spezia, italy
Miami, United states
The production plant in La Spezia has a strategic industrial, social and environmental role and was opened in 2004. Designed with the most advanced construction techniques, the shipyard encompasses an area measuring over 645,000 square feet with more than 129,000 square feet of covered area. This shipyard includes industrial facilities, office buildings, piers and jetties covering 400 meters with a 400 ton travel lift. This modern facility is also Ferretti Group’s main testing point and many of the Group’s yachts are delivered to their owners here. The Group’s after-sales department catering to all the clientele is also based in this location.
Since 1961, the Bertram facility on the Miami River has been used to create Bertram Yachts ranging from 20 feet to 80 feet. The historic facility encompasses various industrial facilities including a campus for painting, welding, closed modeling, prototyping molding, fiberglass modeling, office buildings and marina test facility, just to name some of the key components. This facility is also Ferretti Group’s main testing point for Bertram Yachts and is a direct point of delivery for owners residing or purchasing a Bertram yacht in Miami. The Bertram’s aftersales department catering to all the clientele is also based at this location.
Advanced Yacht Technology (AYT) Engineering and Product Development Center At the core of the Ferretti Group’s strategy is continuous innovation and a constant perfection on the performance of its products. The Group encompasses a unique range of boat types – flybridge, open, lobster boat, fisherman, maxi and mega yachts – and is continuously committed to enhancing its product portfolio. A key exemplification of such a strategy is shown by Advanced Yacht Technology (AYT), an innovative naval research and engineering center responsible for the development and the entire life cycle of each model produced by Ferretti Group. Created in 1989, the Advanced Yacht Technology (AYT) was conceived by Chairman Norberto Ferretti as the Engineering Division of Ferretti Group. AYT is considered one of the most advanced naval research and design centers in the world,
engaged in a continuous quest for innovative solutions aimed at achieving excellence and maximum reliability of the boats, in its entire development procedure, from concept to prototype. These teams of highly competent and specialized experts support research in other complementary areas (monitoring, entertainment, mooring and stabilizing systems) to guarantee a competitive advantage, through the exclusive use of the technologies developed when they are introduced into the market. Altogether, this team of individuals is responsible for creating various staples throughout the nautical industry, including the Anti Rolling Gyro (ARG) stabilization system, Hybrid Propulsion System, the FER.WEY (Ferretti Wave Efficient Yacht) Hull System, and FAIR (Ferretti Analysis Integral Recorder) System.
Centro Stile FerrettiGroup Architect and Design Center Ferretti Group has always dedicated great attention to the design features of each yacht, searching for aesthetic, functional, and innovative solutions. The Centro Stile Ferrettigroup is an in-house team, part of the of the Industrial Operations Department, which is comprised of a group of skilled architects and designers who masterfully combine attention to design, exclusive details, safety, and excellent performance at sea, in every yacht. Excellent teamwork involving many company functions and external architects is one of the main success factors of Centro Stile, which allows Ferretti Group to build motoryachts that become achievements of high internal skills, and of nautical market best solutions.
Hybrid propulsion system Ferretti’s research and development activities have also led to the development of a highly innovative hybrid propulsion system, in which, for the first time ever, a yacht measuring over 20 meters in length can cruise in “Zero Emission Mode”.
Fer.Wey hull (Ferretti Wave Efficient Yacht) Ferretti Group has also developed the innovative Fer.Wey (Ferretti Wave Efficient Yacht) hull, described as ‘transplanting’, which enables owners to cruise comfortably, and guarantees significant energy efficiency in the intermediate speed range, greatly reducing the rolling effect and guaranteeing low aft wave turbulence. The Fer.Wey hull allows owners excellent longitudinal stability, enabling them to move around and live on the yacht without experiencing any marked change in attitude as speed varies, as well as guaranteeing maximum cruising efficiency up to 16 knots and a significant reduction in rolling.
Anti Rolling Gyro (ARG) Of all the innovations developed, the Anti Rolling Gyro (ARG) is of particular importance. Using the movement of a rotor, with particular systems, this compact gyroscopic device allows for a reduction of over 50 percent in the rolling motion of the yachts, to the advantage of on-board comfort. ARG is an innovative system of stabilizers developed by AYT together with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, and fitted as a worldwide exclusive on all Ferretti Group brand yachts.
FAIR (Ferretti Analysis Integral Recorder) The Group has recently launched a new, important technological innovation: FAIR (Ferretti Analysis Integral Recorder), the very first integrated system to monitor the performance of group yachts during testing, enabling not only simultaneous acquisition of operating data, but also their analysis and processing. The system, exclusive to Ferretti Group yachts, is yet another significant achievement in terms of research and innovation, guaranteeing clients a product which has been tested both thoroughly and objectively. FAIR, as in “right”, “true”, enables testers to understand, both quickly and clearly, if a yacht conforms to strict tolerance parameters and whether it has operating faults or deviations compared to the standards of both the model and the project curves, without affecting test times and procedures. This system enables Ferretti to correctly determine the conformity of its yachts to the specifications set by the AYT department. Developed by Ferretti Group with the support of the Department of Information Engineering, Electronics, Information Technology, Telecommunications of Pisa University, FAIR guarantees achievement of all necessary standards of quality for the market to all Ferretti clients. The system is available in several models, and supplied as standard to all Ferretti Group shipyard testing departments
