Dear Ferrum College Family,
It is hard to believe my first month serving as your president has come to a close! It has been an exciting time as I began working with the Board of Trustees and the entire Ferrum College family. I am on campus and on the road weekly working to strengthen connections with faculty, staff, community leaders and alumni – and getting to know our students. Ferrum College has incredible programs, outstanding people, unique assets and a beautiful campus, and I am honored to serve as president and lead such an incredible team of faculty and staff.
As you may know, Wilson Paine, announced his departure as vice president of Institutional Advancement for Ferrum College earlier this month. Wilson shared with me that this difficult decision accepting a position with a nonprofit that will allow him to work from home was borne out of prioritizing the needs of his family during this stage in his/their lives. Wilson joined the Ferrum family first as a student and has served the College in a variety of ways. Now, he will proudly resume the title that means the most to him: an engaged Ferrum alumnus. I know you will join me in celebrating this new season for Wilson and all that he has accomplished in leading the IA team over the past four years.
As we look forward into the spring semester, the calendar is full of celebrations and opportunities to engage with your Ferrum family. I am excited to meet you and others who care so deeply about this College at these events. Ferrum College is a place with boundless opportunities, and we thank you for your support as we continue to use our strengths to drive innovation and growth to be the destination of choice for students who “Enter with Promise and Leave with Purpose.”
Onward and upward!
