Burning Man is a week-long festival with international draw, held annually on the week prior to and including Labor Dayweekend (in early September) in
the United States. 68,000 people gather in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert to create Black Rock City, a temporary metropolis dedicated to community, art, selfexpression, and self-reliance.

The historic origins of what was to become Black Rock City began with the relocation of the Man’s burning from Baker Beach in San Francisco to the
Black Rock Desert, Nevada in 1991.
Its current location is on the playa of the Black Rock Desert in Nevada, 90 miles north-northeast of Reno.
