The only na onal conference dedicated solely to issues that impact children, youth and young adults with behavioral health challenges and their families. Our conference focus is inclusive of children and youth who experience complex diagnos c challenges.
About the Conference Did you know that 1 in 5 children in America experience social, emo onal and behavioral challenges? One undisputed constant in our society is that all children who survive childhood and adolescence will become adults. For children who experience untreated behavioral health disorders, this typically results in adults who con nue to struggle with symptoms, who become parents and who perpetuate this cycle. The impact of this reoccurring cycle is felt throughout our society. For almost 30 years, the Na onal Federa on of Families for Children’s Mental Health has been the na onwide advocacy organiza on with families as its sole focus, playing an important role in helping children, youth and their families whose lives are impacted by mental health challenges. This important work is supported largely by generous donors like you who contribute to our cause. The Na onal Federa on's Annual Conference is the premier event for children and youth with mental health challenges and their families. Each year it brings family members, young adults, and professionals together in a se ng that is safe and free from s gma and that celebrates the gi s and successes of children and youth. Our annual conference generates a large amount of discussion on current issues and trends pertaining to children's mental health, from the perspec ve of a family‐ driven and youth‐guided approach. Our 29th Annual Conference will feature many great workshops and speakers this year, joining hundreds of mental health advocates and professionals from across the na on as we work to educate and empower children, youth, and families!
Our conference offers professionals and families opportuni es to: • Improve policy and enhance prac ces for children and youth who have or are at risk of experiencing behavioral health challenges. • Acquire skills and strategies that will improve outcomes for children and youth with behavioral health challenges. • Gain knowledge of best prac ces and latest research in children’s mental health and related fields. • Enrich understanding of different perspec ves and common goals in support of all children, youth and families.
