Passion Play Trip UPDATES 3.2022 by Fun For Less Tours

Dear Volga Passion Play Passengers, Update on your Volga River Passion Play Cruise and Tour. Please read completely. It is important to start with 2021 and what happened with our group that went to Russia. In the late summer of 2021 we had a group travel to Russia and the Volga River – BUT, not without a lot of drama. For some reason the U.S. and Russia were having some issues in 2021. At one-point Russia called back home their Ambassador from the U.S. and the U.S. called back home their Ambassador from Russia. Then later, after each of the Ambassadors returned to their embassies, Russia said they were opening up for tourists. Normally, there are 5 different Russian Consulates that can issue a Russian Visa, but because of the stress between the two countries, only the New York Consulate opened to issue Russian Visas. What a nightmare. The projected 3 weeks for the issuance of the visa and the return of our passengers’ passports - turned into 6 weeks and we still had not received our passengers’ passports with the visa. We made calls to friends in Russia, asking for them to put pressure on the Russian Government to finish our visas and to return our passengers passports. Two days later, at 5pm, as the Consulate was closing AND on the last possible day that we could still get our groups passports back in time to meet their flights for the trip – the Russian Consulate finally gave us our passports. Many of our passengers received their passports by overnight delivery, the morning of the day they were leaving. Others were given their passports at the airport just before there scheduled flights. To say the least, everyone in our group was stressed to the max and so were we! If the Consulate would have been one day later, our group would not have had their passports and would have lost their ability to go to Russia. With the tour and cruise paid in full, this would have been a gigantic disaster. Talk about a nightmare. We came very close to our group totally missing Russia and the Volga Cruise in 2021. Whatever the issues were in 2021 between the U.S. and Russia, it is going to be 10 times worse now that Russia has invaded the Ukraine and the U.S. does it’s best to punish Russia! In fact, it is already starting – it was recently announced that England’s British Air can no longer fly into Russia or even enter Russia’s airspace because of their stand against Russia’s invasion. It also looks like Europe is going to close all their airspace to any Russian planes and that will likely close all of Russia’s airspace to all of Europe’s airlines – this is going to get ugly before it gets better. Over the last three weeks we have been talking to our people in Russia about “What If”. What would happen to our Volga Cruise and Tour if Russia really did invade? We knew that if this were to happen, considering what last year was like, it would be very unlikely that any of our passengers would be able to get a Russian Visa in a timely manner and most likely not at all. The worst-case scenario became a reality when Russia really did invade the Ukraine. With the knowledge, that it was likely going to be impossible for our group to

travel to Russia in 2022 – On Thursday of this last week we received an email, stating everything in Russia, including your Volga River Cruise has been cancelled. As stated, we have spent the last few weeks talking and looking at what might happen in the worst-case scenario. No solutions were perfect, but some were very doable in our evaluations of “What If” Russia invades. It is important to understand, there are basically two parts, to all of our Passion Play Tours and Cruises: • One Part is Germany and the Oberammergau Passion Play: o 2 nights 4-Star Deluxe Hotel in Munich. o 2 nights 4-Star Oberammergau Passion Play Hotel. o Buses, tours, guides, entrance fees in Munich, Salzburg, and Oberammergau. o Priority seating in Category 1 for the Passion Play. o Breakfast and Dinner in Oberammergau. o Fun For Less Tours Staff. o $1,678 of the money paid toward your tour and cruise - was applied to the services listed above. • The Second Part is the tour or cruise that was tied to Germany and the Passion Play, which was everything in Russia including the Volga River Cruise. Other than the $1,678 paid toward the Germany Portion, the rest of the money paid, was applied to Russia and the Volga River Cruise. Now that the Russia portion of your Passion Play and Tour has been cancelled, what happens now? • The Germany Portion of your Passion Play Tour and cruise: The part of the tour that is connected to Germany and the Oberammergau Passion Play, has nothing to do with what happens in Russia or the Ukraine. Everything in Germany was cancelled when the Coronavirus caused the cancellation of travel throughout the world. No one was willing to give a refund, they only gave a future credit that has ended up being moved to 2022. But, now that Germany is open, they expect everyone to come or lose their credit. They are not willing to extend any future credit. • The Russian Portion of your Passion Play Tour and Cruise: With Russia invading the Ukraine and it becoming necessary to cancel Russia and the Volga River - those we work with in Russia, have become much easier to work with and more flexible about the money paid to them. With the invasion of the Ukraine, they understand it has become impossible for your group to visit this year AND they also recognize that it may even be a couple of years, before relationships between the U.S. and Russia are improved to a point where we can bring groups back again. The good news is Almost all of those we work with in Russia, have decided they would be willing to give a full refund. In the end, all but $300 of the money paid into Russia is scheduled to be refunded. Those not willing to refund were willing to still give a

future credit. The $300 that was not refundable, can be applied to any future tour with Fun For Less Tours, that includes the Volga River Cruise. Why is this so important - the vast majority of the money you paid toward your Passion Play Volga River Cruise and tour was given to Russia and of that portion all but $300 is refundable and even then, you still have a $300 future credit. It really is a miracle that they are willing to return so much, especially when you consider EVERY hotel, River Cruise company, bus company, guide, etc., in Europe has refused to give any refunds. It is not all bleak, we actually have several reasonably good options, especially when you consider what the worst-case scenario could have been – Russia refusing to give any refunds at all. Considering everything, you have 3 options. Option 1 in our opinion is not a very good Option. Option 2 and 3 are much better Options, with Option 3 being the very best! Option 1: Partial Refund – permanently cancel your reservations. The biggest issue with refunding is the hotels, buses, guides, meals, entrance fees, the Passion Play Tickets, etc. in Germany. Now that Germany is open, they are no longer willing to continue postponing. Their attitude is - use your credits this year or lose them. (we have solutions in Options 2 & 3 where you can use Germany’s credits). Russia is different, because of the issue with Ukraine and the knowledge that things may take a long time before getting back to normal – they are willing to refund all but $300 of the money paid into the Volga River Cruise, along with the hotels, buses and guides in Russia. If you choose this Option you would receive all but $1,978 back from what you paid for your Volga Trip. The nonrefundable portion is made up of the $300 that was not refundable from Russia AND $1,678 from the nonrefundable things missed in Germany. Any money paid for the flight between Germany and Russia, would also be refunded AND any money paid toward airline tickets into Germany and home from Russia, would likely be given to you in a future Credit. The other Options are better, but if you choose this option, you will need to let us know you choose option 1 and you understand that the refund you receive will be the only refund and there will be no additional refunds or credits. Option 2: Apply what you paid for the Volga Tour to another Tour this year. You can use the money you paid for the Volga toward any Passion Play Tour we have this year. This really is a great option! It solves the issue with the German hotels, buses, guides, entrance fees and the Passion Play and you get to apply all but $300 toward any of our available Passion Play tours. Here is how this option works: • Russia would refund all but a small deposit of $300 that would stay as a future credit. • We would apply the refunded money to the Passion Play Tour or cruise you choose. • The issues with Germany, including the hotels, buses, guides, entrance fees, Passion Play Tickets, are solved as you would be using your credits in Germany this year.

• Any of these Passion Play Tours and Cruises can be used to apply your Russian refund AND your GERMAN credit to!!! Call us if you do not receive this brochure by email. But, most likely, your new Passion Play Tour or Cruise will be less. If it less, except for the $300, the difference will be refunded to you by check. Some have very limited space; you need to act fast. Some of our inventory, especially on Passion Play Tours involving a River Cruise, has to be reduced by next week. You need to make your decision and then Email AND Call us to make your reservations for the space we have left. You MUST do this no later than March 7. Option 3: Two Passion Play Cruises that will allow you to use 100% of what you paid for the Volga – INCLUDING the $300 not returned from Russia. We talked with our friends at AmaWaterways about the cancellation of our Passion Play Volga River Cruise and discussed that many of our passengers would likely be moving to a Passion Play Cruise on one of their ships. We also mentioned the loss of the $300 that would not be returned from Russia. With the help of AmaWaterways, we ended up with two Passion Play River Cruises that offered an additional $300 discount to make up for the money not refunded from Russia. With the two Passion Play Cruises below, you can take an additional $300 off of the already low prices. Even though the price of the two Passion Play Cruises below, have a $300 discount to cover the $300 not returned from Russia – you still have the $300 credit with Russia if you choose to book a future Russia Cruise and Tour with us. This is only good for those that were cancelled on the Volga. If you bring additional friends, they will need to pay our already low prices, they will not get the $300 in additional savings. Here are the two best choices: • Our Exotic Danube Passion Play Cruise and Tour June 20 with Dr. S. Michael Wilcox as the educator on the ship: One of our favorite countries in Europe is Romania. It has some of the best castles in all of Europe and the one we consider the #1 castle in the world. The Land Tour travels throughout Romania visiting ancient castles and ancient walled cities. It really is a great choice. Information and pictures were in the Passion Play Brochure we emailed to you Monday. • Brand new Rhine River Passion Play Cruise Aug 7 with Jeff Lawson as educator on the ship: AmaWaterways found a Rhine River Cruise that fit perfectly with the Volga

River dates that were cancelled. The start and end dates of this tour are the same as the Volga. The fantastic highlight of this choice is the wonderful time you will spend in Switzerland. With the inclusion of Cog trains, Cable Cars and high-speed trains, you will experience the best Switzerland has to offer including the Matterhorn. You also visit the tiny country of Lichtenstein. If you invite other friends to travel with you, they will have to pay our normal great pricing, only those cancelled off of the Volga can get the additional $300 savings. Here is why we feel this is the other best choice: o 100% of what you paid for the Volga, can be applied to this tour. With the additional discount, your $300 that is nonrefundable from the Russia Cruise and Tour, is taken care of. o Your start and end dates are the same as the Volga. Departing August 7 and returning August 22. o The timing couldn’t be better. It fits perfectly with your existing reservations in Germany. Including all tours, buses, guides, entrance fees and the Passion Play. There are no changes needed to the German schedule. o Airfare is almost a perfect match. For those flying on our Group airfare, you were flying into Munich departing the 7th of August – there is no change to this schedule, you would still fly to Munich August 7. You were then flying out of Moscow on August 22 through Amsterdam back to the U.S. Your ship ends in Amsterdam, so now you are flying the same day, on the Amsterdam to SLC portion. There will likely still be change fees – but if the only change is cutting out the flight from Moscow to Amsterdam, the fees shouldn’t be too bad. We will help make these changes for those who have our group airfare. The best Option in our opinion is Option 3. But, you get to make your choice. We have worked hard to get you the best options possible. We know you wanted to experience the Passion Play, and with these options you have that opportunity. Plus, you would not lose any money from not going to Germany this year. Please understand, you have an extremely short period of time before we need your choice. Critical Information Regarding 2022 P a s s i o n P l a y To u r s a n d C r u i s e s Oberammergau’s Passion Play was scheduled to take place in 2020. We had contracted for 3,600 Passion Play Tickets with Hotels in Oberammergau. We arranged tours and cruises that would include the Passion Play. We completely sold out all of our Passion Play Tours and Cruises for 2020. Then the Covid pandemic caused the postponement of the Passion Plays until 2022. Many of our passengers requested to move their Passion Play Tour or Cruise credit to 2021 instead of waiting to 2022. However, with the continuation of the Covid pandemic, most were not able to travel in 2021 and ended up having to move to 2022 anyway, leaving little to no space on most of our Passion Play Tours and Cruises. We were able to get a few groups out this year on the Danube River and the Volga River cruises, this freed up a few hundred Passion Play tickets. Before we had to cancel all of our 2020 Passion Play Tours and Cruises, we had 12 groups scheduled on Romantic Danube Cruises that included Oberammergau and its Passion Play. In comparison, we had 4 Rhine River Groups that included Oberammergau and its Passion Play. The Romantic Danube includes so many great cities and places to visit: • Prague, Czech Republic: Has over 1,000 years of history. It competes as one of the top cities in Europe to visit. The massive Prague Castle, along with Prague’s many unique bridges over the Vitava River and its old town that is a UNESCO World Heritage Site will be a huge highlight. • Salzburg, Austria: A beautiful picturesque city with its massive Hohensalzburg Fortress high above the rooftops of the historic district. This was our first chance to create a tour that includes the very best Italy has to offer. Usually we have to hurry through Italy so we can get to a Greece cruise. Your going to love Italy like we do after you experience all that it has to offer. We have slowed it down and brought you some very wonderful additions not included in our past tours of Italy. This might be the ultimate experience; the study of Christ through the Holy Lands combined with Oberammergau’s Passion Play. We have designed this special tour to include the BEST of the Holy Lands, along with Oberammergau’s wonderful Passion Play. It has so much to offer. You will attend the wonderful Passion Play in Oberammergau and to top it all off you will spend a week walking where Jesus walked in Israel. The icing on the cake is the addition of Jordan and Egypt. A chance to do all of this on one trip only happens every 10 years. This once in a lifetime tour of Israel will visit many sites that other tours miss, some even leave off Bethlehem. Our special Holy Land tour includes all of the important sites in Israel such as Jerusalem, Garden Tomb, Galilee, Bethlehem, Masada, the Dead Sea, and more. It also includes Petra in Jordan. We will also be doing a fantastic Egypt tour & Nile Cruise that includes: Cairo, the Pyramids, King Tut’s Treasures in the Cairo Museum, Luxor, Karnack Temple (more impressive than the Pyramids), Luxor Temple, a three-night luxury cruise on the Nile and so much more. This once in a lifetime tour will visit many sites that others are not able to see when they go to Israel. For example; the City of Lehi excavations, located a short distance down from Jerusalem. This is where caves were discovered with writings on the inside walls. It was determined that the writings were by a prophet in hiding that dates approx. 600 BC. The Arabs have considered the hill above the cave to be a sacred place. As they put it – “before Mohamed there was a great prophet named Lehi and he taught from that hill.” Even the archaeologists in Jerusalem now call the area Beit Lehi. We do not know if this is our Lehi, but we do know this will be a huge highlight as you visit an active archaeological dig. The excavations are on an army base. Only those excavating and Fun For Less Tours have been given permission to go onto the site.
