FGCU Eagles

Building champions

JOIN THE EAGLES CLUB TODAY The Eagles Club is the official organization that supports Florida Gulf Coast University Athletics. Financial assistance from Eagles Club members helps to build the University’s athletics program, develop outstanding facilities, and fund scholarships. More than 250 talented student-athletes in 14 sports benefit from the Eagles Club’s backing each year. In addition, the Eagles Club provides members with opportunities to volunteer and participate in exclusive social and networking events, as well as the satisfaction from assisting so many quality young student-athletes.

why we need your help As the cost of tuition at FGCU increases each year, the Eagles Club is called upon to provide additional resources in support of student-athlete scholarships. While operational costs rise, your Eagles Club membership becomes more important each year. By becoming an Eagles Club member, you can make a tangible difference in our quest for excellence in every area of competition. In addition, you can take pride in knowing that your contribution will make a difference as we continue to prosper at the national level. Intercollegiate Athletics receives no state appropriations; therefore, private support from donors like you is critical.

Dear Eagles Club Family, Greetings from FGCU Athletics! As we wrap up another memorable year here on “The Nest,” on behalf of all our student-athletes and coaches, I want to extend our tremendous appreciation to all those who have helped make our numerous successes possible. From four more championships and three nationally ranked teams to date, a record cumulative grade point average and countless community service hours to a first ever Alico Arena sellout and more victories over BCS programs in a number of sports, 2010-11 was another milestone campaign. The key to our future accomplishments will be our abilities to generate much needed additional external resources. Hence, we must continue to grow our Eagles Club membership, amongst other avenues (i.e., ticket sales, corporate sponsorships, etc.). In turn, through the efforts of your Eagles Club Board of Advisors, we added new benefit options to Eagle Club Members over the course of this past year, to include: • • • •

Pre-game dining Reserved parking for basketball (helpful with increased crowds) New networking events with coaches and student-athletes Enhanced Internet broadcasting of FGCU Athletics via our website.

Striving to always improve our game-day experience, we hope you agree that these benefits are valuable and worthwhile additions to our package. In particular, the new networking events are reserved exclusively for our Eagles Club members at certain levels. If not already there, please seriously consider joining our company come next season.

DIRECTOR OF ATHLETICS FLORIDA GULF COAST UNIVERSITY

We have a great beginning to our FGCU story, but our best years are ahead as we are now fully post-season eligible in every sport! Likewise, your continued generosity greatly enhances our path to future successes, and we are very thankful for all those who have been with us as loyal season ticket holders and Eagles Club Members like you and we feel very fortunate to know so many of you and call you our friends. We look forward to sharing many additional future Blue & Green victory celebrations with our great Eagles Club members in the years ahead. In the meantime, thanks for all that you do for FGCU Athletics! God Bless & Go Eagles!

6 ways you can help fgcu athletics 1. SUPPORT THE EAGLES CLUB ANNUAL FUND The Eagles Club is the annual fund for athletics. We encourage all members to give to the annual fund first. Due to the high cost of educating a FGCU student, increased annual support is critical for the university to continue to offer competitive scholarship opportunities.

2. EAGLES SCHOLARSHIP SOCIETY While times and technology may change, FGCU Athletics’ mission endures – to provide the best athletic and academic experience for our student-athletes. A commitment to the Eagles Scholarship Society paves the way for our student-athletes to become champions on the field and in the classroom. Please contact Butch Perchan at (239) 590-7030 to speak with him about joining the Eagles Scholarship Society.

3. MAKE A GIFT TOWARD A SPECIAL PROJECT OR INITIATIVE While we encourage all members to give to the Eagles Club first, there are other ways that you can support and become involved with FGCU Athletics. These include the Legacy Fund, endowment, etc. Please visit FGCUAthletics. com for more information on making a gift toward a special project or initiative.

4. ASK IF YOUR COMPANY PARTICIPATES IN A MATCHING GIFTS PROGRAM Some companies will match your gifts to FGCU Athletics. Please consult the benefits office at your place of employment to see if you are eligible for their matching gifts program. Log onto FGCUAthletics.com for a complete list of companies that currently match gifts to FGCU Athletics.

5. REFER A FRIEND TO THE EAGLES CLUB The purpose of the Eagles Club Program is to help strengthen the foundation of the Eagles Club by growing our membership base. Help us increase our membership by referring at least one new member to the Eagles Club. • Online Direct your prospective Eagles Club member to FGCUAthletics.com, which is availableon the web 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

• Phone Call the Eagles Club Office at (239) 590-7107. A member of the Eagles Club staff will gladly assist them in joining the Eagles Club.

• Email Email the name and contact information of your prospective member to Senior Associate AD for External Affairs Stanley ‘Butch’ Perchan at SPerchan@fgcu.edu. We will send the individual information on becoming a member of the Eagles Club.

• Mail Mail the name and contact information of your prospective member to Senior Associate AD for External Affairs Stanley ‘Butch’ Perchan at 10501 FGCU Blvd South, Fort Myers, FL 33965. We will send the individual information on becoming a member of the Eagles Club.

6. REMEMBER FGCU ATHLETICS IN YOUR ESTATE PLANNING Eagles Club members can help ensure that the excellence of FGCU Athletics continues in perpetuity by making a planned gift. Our staff, working with the University’s Office of Gift Planning, can help you determine the gift plan that best meets your financial and philanthropic goals.
