how me met
It was June 2018 and my friends (Randall and Jamal) wanted me to go out with them to have some fun and drinks. I was scheduled to go out of town for work that night, but my flight was canceled earlier that morning. Long story short, we went out that night. Towards the end of the night, I see JaBria approaching us introducing herself. My face lit up when I saw how beautiful she was. The energy and vibe her and I shared at that moment was different. A few days later, she and I spoke on the phone for at least 4-5 hours. A week later, I called Jamal after our 1st date and told him, “Bro, she’s different. She may be the one.” Now we are about to get married.
It was June 2018 and my friend Marissa, who is now my bridesmaid, invited me to a local bar in Buckhead Atlanta. As we were preparing to go home for the evening, we spotted Jeremy & his friends. She pointed them out to me & I half jokingly said “Well, let’s go and talk to them.” I confidently walked over and introduced myself. “Hi, my name is JaBria and this is my friend …..” but as I looked to my side Marissa was nowhere to be found! I was embarrassed to say the least. I laughed it off, but as I started explaining what happened Jeremy’s eyes met mine. He smiled and I immediately felt at ease. Jeremy and I talked for a few minutes and exchanged numbers. Two days later, we had our first phone conversation & talked for over 4 hours. Talking to him felt natural & easy. It almost felt like I’d already known him for years. I knew he was different. We went on our first date a few days later & have been together ever since
In November 2019, Jeremy took me engagement ring shopping. From that moment on, I anxiously anticipated an upcoming proposal….I just did not know when or how. Our birthdays are 4 days apart, his October 15th & mine October 19th. In 2020, Jeremy told me that he was planning to host a birthday dinner for himself on October 18th. He was inviting friends and family from out of town. I was excited to celebrate Jeremy, because if you know him, you know he is a very humble & modest man. It is not often that he celebrates his birthday. He told me that this would be a nice affair, so I should dress for the occasion. On October 18th, we prepared to go to his “birthday dinner.” On the way there, he told me that he reserved a hotel for the weekend and that we needed to check-in before dinner. We arrived at the Four Seasons Atlanta. Jeremy asked me to come inside the hotel to complete the reservation process. I was confused. We walked through the lobby, went up the elevator, and started walking towards a terrace. As we walked to the terrace I heard “Sweet Love” by Robin Thicke playing. There was a red carpet lined with our close family & friends on each side. At the end of the carpet was a large present and balloons. I immediately cried as I realized what was happening. We started walking down the aisle and each person was holding a red rose. They each handed me one as we walked through. Jeremy then began to tell everyone how much & why he loved me. He got on one knee & my heart stopped. I honestly don’t remember what was said at that point, because I was so excited! He opened the ring box & it was the ring I had been dreaming of. I cried and nodded my head yes as I was at a loss for words. His proposal was so thoughtful and the best early birthday present I’ve ever received.

THE PROPOSAL
Jeremy, I love you. Thank you!
Towards the end of 2019, I had taken JaBria ring shopping to get an idea of what type of ring she would like or wanted. After visiting several places, she was really excited about a radiant cut diamond sitting in a cathedral setting. She tried on the ring and fell in love with it. I knew at that moment, that’s the ring she wanted. The day after, I began formulating a plan for the “proposal” because I knew I wanted to propose in 2020. My original plan was to fly her and I out to Hawaii in June 2020 and propose to her there, but COVID happened. So I came up with the idea to rent out the terrace at the Four Seasons in Atlanta. My plan was to have all family and friends there to witness the proposal. The day of the proposal, she thought that we were going to celebrate my birthday with family and friends. I rarely celebrate my birthday so I was surprised she fell for it. I convinced her to come into the Four Seasons with me to “check” into the hotel room that I “booked”. I took her to the terrace where I proposed to her in front of friends and family. There was a red carpet and each family member and friend had a red rose in their hand to hand to JaBria as she and I walked down the red carpet. When I got on one knee to propose, I thanked God for bringing this woman of God to me. I will never forget that day! After the proposal, I had planned a surprise party for JaBria to celebrate with family and friends.
