Assistant General Counsel, National Security Leidos Courtney Edmonds is an Assistant General Counsel (National Security) at Leidos, Inc., and has been involved in professional activities relating to federal procurement law for close to 20 years. He decided to start his legal career after he fell short of his goal to be known as the best DJ in Washington, DC. While in private practice, Mr. Edmonds was an associate in the government contracts practice groups of Sidley Austin, Fried Frank, and McKenna Long & Aldridge. As an associate, he provided advice and assistance relating to procurement law, bid protests, identifying and mitigating organizational conflicts of interest, dispute avoidance and resolution, M&A, battlefield contracting, and public/private partnerships.
Jana Taylor
Associate General Counsel Radio One, Inc. Jana L. Taylor is grateful that her career allows her to indulge her passions for media and law. As associate general counsel for Radio One Inc., she handles legal matters in a field that focuses on entertaining and educating people, which affords her opportunities to help others. Taylor, who always enjoyed public speaking and helping others, initially found the idea of becoming a broadcast legal analyst appealing. “Court TV and attorneys like Star Jones were becoming very popular, and I saw that as an opportunity to blend both of my passions,” she says. In the Honors Program at Ohio State University, which she attended with a Carl Rowan Project Excellence Scholarship, Taylor started as a political science major but soon switched to broadcast journalism.

Jeffrey Gee Chin grew up in Marin County. His mission is to share the untold stories of immigrant pioneers who came to the United States in the early 20th Century. In 2012, he completed his first narrative short film Lil Tokyo Reporter (2012) which stars Academy Award-Winner Chris Tashima as Civil Rights Leader Sei Fujii. The film has won over 21 awards and screened with the U.S. State Department in Seoul, Guangzhou, and Beijing. Jeffrey edited an Emmy-Nominated SFGovTv episode and completed a feature film adaptation of James Franco’s Actors Anonymous (2017) as a 2nd-Unit Director and Visual Effects Supervisor. Currently, Jeffrey is developing several long-form productions that will be announced shortly.

Leslie Richards-Yellen

Vichal Kumar

Jim Coleman
President & CEO Prince George’s County Economic Development Corporation Prior to joining the Prince George’s County Economic Development Corporation, Jim Coleman served as Executive Director for Westchester County, NY Industrial Development Agency and Local Development Corporation since being appointed in April 2014. In this position, Coleman was Westchester County’s premier business advocate and deal maker. Within one year of his appointment, Coleman infused nearly $1 billion in financing and tax incentives into the market, enabling Westchester’s Industrial Development Agency and Local Development Corporation to carry out their strategic missions and to create over 4,700 jobs for Westchester’s residents. Coleman’s successes included closing a $100 million deal within 30 days to enable Pace University to build two new dormitories and to renovate several other facilities, making Pace more attractive and competitive in attracting the best and brightest students to Westchester. Coleman also boosted Westchester’s hospital infrastructure by pumping over $250 million in tax exempt bond financing.

Prior to rejoining Frost Brown Todd where he was a lawyer 14 years ago, Jim ran R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company in Puerto Rico for three years.
Robert Raben Founder & CEO The Raben Group
Robert Raben is the founder and president of the Washington, D.C.-based lobbying and consulting firm The Raben Group, and was Assistant Attorney General at the Department of Justice under former President Bill Clinton. In addition to having a seat on the boards of several non-profit organizations, Raben is known as a bipartisan player for progressive change in Washington after being named a top lobbyist by Washington Life magazine, The Hill, and Washingtonian magazine. Raben started his career on Capitol Hill as counsel for Congressman Barney Frank. He served in this capacity for seven years, advising him on civil rights policy and Judiciary committee issues. His committee work for Rep. Frank eventually led him to his next role as Democratic counsel for the House Judiciary Committee on the Subcommittee on Courts, the Internet, and Intellectual Property, and for the Subcommittee on the Constitution. In conjunction with his service on the Hill, Raben taught as an adjunct professor at the Georgetown University Law Center.
