HOSPITAL EVENTS

The motel next to our hospital has come crashing down – and in its place will be a Medical Arts Building for Florida Hospital North Pinellas that will house multiple specialties and physicians to satisfy the health care needs for our community.

On September 27th, Florida Hospital North Pinellas hosted a “Demo Day” party with children from three after school programs – Boys & Girls Club, Citizen’s Alliance for Progress and the Tarpon Springs Recreation Department – so they could take part in the project. The children had fun painting graffiti on the old motel walls, then staff from the LeepaRattner Museum of Art at St. Petersburg College helped the kids create a canvas that will, quite literally, leave their handprint on the future Medical Arts Building. Work on the Medical Arts Building will begin after the renovation and expansion of the hospital Emergency Department. The demolished motel site will serve as a staging area in the meantime during that project. 5
