CEO Address Corporate Updates Hospital Updates
CEO ADDRESS It is hard to believe that the Thanksgiving holiday is right around the corner, and soon we will be headed into 2019 - a new and transformative year for our hospital and organization. During this time of year, I take time to reflect on everything I am thankful for, not only at home and in my personal life, but here at work as well. As I look back on the year, many things come to mind for me to be grateful for. This year, I transitioned into the role as your President & CEO, and each of you have welcomed me into this role with warmth and grace. We have also accomplished so much together in this short time. Our lease extension vote with the City of Tarpon Springs passed, allowing us to be a longterm healthcare partner in the community. We also purchased new beds for our patients, invested in new equipment, and we have laid the groundwork for many important projects including our ER expansion, floor renovatioins, and exterior wall. These are all things I am extremely thankful for from 2018. When I look ahead, I know we will have even more to be grateful for in 2019. It will be a year of transformation as we change our name on January 2nd throughtout our entire system to AdventHealth. We will also kick-off work on the renovation and expansion projects we have been developing plans for this year. This month, I encourage each of you to take time to reflect on what your are grateful for in your personal and professinal lives, and I look forward to rounding out a great 2018 with you in the coming weeks. God Bless,
Jason Dunkel President and CEO

MESSAGE FROM TERRY SHAW On November 6th, Adventist Health System President and CEO Terry Shaw sent an email to all AHS employees celebrating our progress on becoming AdventHealth. In this message, he talked about how over the next few weeks, you will begin to hear more information about how we are going to better deliver on our mission of extending the healing ministry of Christ and our brand promise of “feel whole”. AHS has developed an AdventHealth transition site, which will be updated with new content and annoucements as they happen. It is designed to be one place where you can see and celebrate what we have done, ask questions and get answers about what is next, and share your thoughts and experiences about #feelingwhole. We encourage you to visit this transition site throughout the coming weeks for the most up-to-date information on our transition to AdventHealth.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS On the AdventHealth transition site, there is a great resource available to you of Frequently Asked Questions regarding our brand change, as well as what items will affect our team members with the transition. Below are some general FAQ’s regarding the brand change. For a full list, click here. What is our new brand? The system brand for all Adventist Health System facilities will be AdventHealth, and that is how consumers will recognize us across our hospitals, physician practices, outpatient facilities and communities. The promise we will make through our brand is wholeness. We will also introduce an active consumer tagline to Feel Whole.
CORPORATE UPDATES What does AdventHealth mean? AdventHealth signals the arrival or beginning of health and expresses a strong and clear connection to the healing and salvation that God has promised. When will our name change? Our name will change on January 2. Why are we pursuing a unified system brand? A unified system brand strategy is the tangible representation of a consumer-focused, fullyintegrated health care delivery network. It simplifies and articulates the value proposition of the whole-person health care we provide in our hospitals, physician practices and outpatient facilities throughout the country. It also allows us to tell a cohesive story of an industry-leading health care organization with a legacy of healing based on a commitment to guide those we serve in creating a life of whole health that embraces their physical, emotional and spiritual needs. Essentially, we are transforming our brand to: • Articulate and consistently deliver on our brand promise of wholeness, caring for the mind, body and spirit • Leverage the strength and benefits that come from being a system • Provide better care navigation within our care continuum, ensuring that we never discharge a patient, but instead become partners in their health for life • Tell a compelling, unified story of who we are to consumers, team members, constituents and partners • Strengthen our internal connection for team members by building on our unified mission, values, vision, and service standards, to now include a shared name • Allow consumers to identify our locations and services more easily Are we changing our name due to a change in ownership? No. This system brand strategy is not the result of a merger, acquisition, change in ownership or change in business structure.
