HOSPITAL UPDATES FLORIDA HOSPITAL NORTH PINELLAS EARNS 10TH STRAIGHT ‘A’ GRADE IN PATIENT SAFETY Florida Hospital North Pinellas was awarded an ‘A’ grade by The Leapfrog Group for its efforts in protecting patients from harm and meeting the highest safety standards in the U.S. This is the tenth straight ‘A’ grade Florida Hospital North Pinellas has received, the longest straight ‘A’ streak in the Tampa Bay area. The hospital was also awarded the 2016 and 2017 Top General Hospital award for patient quality and safety from The Leapfrog Group, the only hospital in the state of Florida to receive the prestigious recognition backto-back for 2016 and 2017. “We are incredibly proud to be awarded our tenth straight ‘A’ grade for our continued excellence in patient safety,” said Tricia Williams, Florida Hospital North Pinellas President and CEO. “It is our goal for every patient we serve to be provided with exceptional, safe care, and this award is a direct reflection of our team’s unwavering commitment to that year after year.”
“
This is the only national rating of how well hospitals protect patients from preventable harm and death, such as medical errors, infections, and injuries,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “Receiving an ‘A’ Safety Grade means a hospital is among the best in the country for preventing these terrible problems and putting their patients first, 24 hours a day.
