CEO ADDRESS Ionehope each and every of you had a wonderful

holiday season and a happy New Year. As we begin 2018, I am excited to see what our Florida Hospital North Pinellas family can accomplish this year. Looking back on 2017, I am very proud of the work each of you did for our hospital. We were presented with several awards throughout the year, and that would not have been possible without the help of every department and team member. Thank you for your dedication to our hospital and the people we serve.

In this issue of The North Pinellas Heartbeat, you will be introduced to our 2018 strategic imperatives, which will help you understand our goals and vision for the upcoming year. I am pleased to announce we have another physician joining the Florida Hospital North Pinellas Physician Group. Dr. Anthony Donatelli is an Internal Medicine physician who will be practicing with the Palm Harbor Medical Center. HOSPITAL UPDATES 2018 STRATEGIC FRAMEWORK Adventist Health System has created a strategic framework for 2018, which includes five system-wide imperatives for the organization. To support those imperatives, AHS, the West Florida Division, and Florida Hospital North Pinellas have developed initiatives we will all implement to achieve our goals and vision. The below grid outlines the AHS imperatives and highlights a few of the initiatives we are doing to ensure success in 2018.

Dr. Anthony Donatelli, is a board certified physician who provides comprehensive me management, internal medicine and geriatric conditions. Dr. Donatelli strives to provid When Dr. Donatelli is not in the office, he enjoys golfing, jogging, travel, and writing.

Louis Astra, MD

Rajneesh Mathur, DO

Dr. Astra is double board certified in cardiothoracic and general surgery. Born in Philadelphia, he received his undergraduate degree in chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania before heading to medical school at the University of Pittsburgh. He continued his medical training via an internship and residency at Wayne State University’s Detroit Medical Center prior to undertaking a fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at The Ohio State University. Dr. Astra has advanced training in robotic-assisted surgery. He is a noted researcher with numerous published articles to his name, he is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Medical Association, American College of Cardiology and Florida Society of Clinical Oncology. Dr. Astra enjoys watching the Tampa Bay Lightning and Philadelphia Eagles.

Dr. Rajneesh Mathur has served as the Medical Director of the Emergency Department at Florida Hospital North Pinellas since 2012. There, he was selected as 2013 Physician of the Year by the hospital nursing staff. He is currently serving as Vice-Chief of Staff at Florida Hospital North Pinellas. Dr. Mathur graduated from a seven-year medical program through the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and The New York Institute of Technology. He completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at Henry Ford Macomb. During his residency, Dr. Mathur completed a Fellowship in Policy Studies. He has been AOBEM board certified since 2010. Outside of the Emergency Department, Dr. Mathur enjoys biking, spending time with his two children, and entrepreneurship. He is currently pursuing his Executive MBA at the University of South Florida.

Dr. Pappou is double fellowship trained and board certified in orthopedics by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and specializes in hand, wrist, shoulder and elbow surgery, and microvascular surgery. Dr. Pappou has authored more than 15 articles, reviews, book chapters and abstracts and has delivered more than 15 lectures and presentations for organizations such as the International Meeting on Advanced Spine Techniques and the North American Spine Society. Additionally, Dr. Pappou is a member of the American Association of Orthopaedics, American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and the American Association for Hand Surgery. Dr. Pappou is fluent in six languages and enjoys running, reading, scuba diving, traveling and studying ancient Greek philosophy.

lorida Hospital North Pinellas was delighted to host the second annual Holiday Brunch for our employees, physicians, volunteers and their families on December 8th. The Food Services team prepared a wonderful spread of festive food, and we had a special appearance from Santa Claus.

lorida Hospital North Pinellas employees from all departments donated gifts to help some of our own FHNP team members during the holiday season. A wrapping party was held on Thursday, December 21st so the gifts were ready for the families by Christmas.
