Michelle Allgire - Pharmacy Michele Allgire, who has been a clinical Pharmacist here at FHNP for the last eight years, recently completed an intense and comprehensive examination to complete her National Board of Pharmacy Specialty Certification in Pharmacotherapy. BPS certified Pharmacists are in the top 3% of all certified Pharmacists, globally. BPS certification is a voluntary process by which a pharmacist’s education, experience, knowledge and skills are confirmed as being well beyond what is required for licensure. In addition, Michele has a certification in Anticoagulation therapy management from the University of Southern Indiana. With a specialty-trained pharmacist like Michele as part of the FHNP collaborative care team, enhanced patient satisfaction has been documented with fewer complications in drug treatment; improved laboratory monitoring; reductions in unnecessary medications; and shorter hospital stays resulting in lower treatment costs.
Palm Harbor ER Trinity Wound Care Center Construction is well under way for our new wound care center in Trinity. Construction on the new center started at the end of July, and the facility is slated to be complete in December of this year.
Florida Hospital North Pinellas will open an off-site emergency room in Palm Harbor in the Fall of 2016. The new facility will be located at US Highway 19 North and Highlands Boulevard, less than eight miles from the main hospital.
The new facility will be a four chamber wound care center and will also include hyperbaric oxygen therapy. We are excited to be expanding our wound care services into the Trinity community.
Demolition began on the property at the beginning of October, and construction is scheduled to start January 2016.
The new Trinity location will be off of Trouble Creek Road and Little Road.
The off-site emergency room will be a 24-bed, full service facility. This facility will also include CT-scan, laboratory services, X-ray and ultrasound. As many of you know, there is an increasing need for emergency services in our area. This year, we expect to see over 25,000 visits in the ER. The addition of the new Palm Harbor Emergency Room will help us to offer quality care to more members of our community.

Girl Talk Our 3rd Annual Girl Talk event was held on November 5th at Innisbrook Golf Resort and Spa. We had a wide variety of vendors come out to support the event, as well as Paul Ysebaert, a Tampa Bay Lightning Alumni and the team’s very first captain. There were over 1,000 people in attendance that had free health screenings, hand massages, a free dinner, and asked questions to the doctors. It was a lovely evening put on by Christine Longley, Director of Community Outreach.
