Wound Healing Institute of Trinity
A Word From Our President Contact Jeni Hinojosa: jennifer.hinojosa@ahss.org or (727) 943-3463 As we are well on our way into 2016, I would like to share the accomplishments we have made thus far. Florida Hospital North Pinellas opened the new Wound Healing Institute of Trinity and held an open house, which drew a wonderful crowd. We also held a groundbreaking ceremony for our new Palm Harbor ER that is slated to open this fall.
The employees of this hospital are what make FHNP so great. As you can see in this issue of The Pulse, we have recognized a number of employees recently through our quarterly awards, service awards, employee of the year, and our Just Because program. Thank you for all the hard work and dedication from all of our employees. Coming up, we have some very exciting events. Melanoma Monday is going to be held on May 2nd for free skin cancer screenings by our Operation Sunshine Team. Our 4th annual Ask the Experts event is also right around the corner on June 22 at Innisbrook Golf Resort and Spa. I am excited to see what the rest of this year brings us at Florida Hospital North Pinellas.

STARS
Special Thanks and Recognition Congratulations to these employees who were recognized for their hard work and dedication to the hospital in Quarter 1 of 2016. TJC readiness is a way of life for Jen. Her area is always meticulous. During the recent Imaging reorganization she stepped up to assist with additional responsibilities with a smile. Not only was she able to extend some best practice shine to our x-ray area, but she was a reservoir of knowledge for the inspector. She has led in recognizing others on the team, as well as helping to make sure the Imaging professional’s week was enjoyable. Each day she rounds with outpatients and manages up any opportunities. She has been an extremely loyal member of this facility and is always eager and excited about being the safest and best department.

Amy has consistently demonstrated excellence while extending our Mission to our patients, their families, the physicians and her peers! Amy quickly developed into an excellent clinician who routinely cares for her patients in the kindest, safest and most considerate fashion. Her name is mentioned quite frequently during nurse leader rounds with comments such as “Always goes above and beyond”, “none better”, “Amy is the best nurse ever”, etc. For these reasons and many more I think Amy should be nominated as an Exceptional Employee!
PCU Tammy is an integral team member of the Foundation Office. Since joining us in January 2015 she has displayed an exceptional desire to take on a variety of tasks even without being prompted to do so. Her skills, many self-taught, ensure the efficient operation of the Foundation Office. Tammy lives the role of a team player. On various occasions she has stopped whatever she was attempting to accomplish and assist another department with their needs. Tammy is conscientious and takes the necessary steps to ensure the highest level of customer care.

She provides invaluable support to our Directors and Managers each and every day and was a key contributor to the iSynergy effort as one of our Super Users. She stays in touch with the needs of both employees and the hospital; continually brings new ideas and concepts forth to strengthen both our recruiting and retention efforts and strives for excellence every day, in every way.

Celebrate Life Tim Alexander
This year, Florida Hospital and the Tampa Bay Lightning recognized Tim Alexander during “Heart Night” at the hockey game on February 14th. Tim was a patient at Florida Hospital North Pinellas who came in with a heart attack. Our Cath Lab team was able to save his life. Tim and his wife were invited to the Lightning game, where a video was shown of his journey at FHNP, and he was recognized on the big screen. He was presented a Lightning jersey and also rode on the Zamboni during a break. Now he is back to enjoying life on the golf course.
