Weird days in March Aliens and recorders? Alexis Swoyer, Social media editor March is full of random and crazy days that really make you stop and think who even thought of this… and why? Starting off this week March 16th, “everything you do is right day”. This one definitely is not the weirdest one we have this month but it definitely is a weird one. Imagine someone coming up to you and telling you that they are completely right and can say or do anything that is “right” to them just because the day tells them they can. Next up is March 20th, which is “extraterrestrial abductions day” and this one is definitely a weird one. We have a whole day dedicated to being abducted by aliens. Today is the day for people

who are convinced that they have been abducted by aliens at some point in their life, they are really shining through today. They might not seem so insane for just one day. Coming up right behind our aliens is March 21st “play the recorder day”, I feel absolutely awful for anyone who partakes in this day. Or if you just happen to be stuck around someone who loves to play the recorder. I remember back in the elementary school days, those things would honestly make yours and your parents ears bleed. I don’t know anyone that could’ve made those instruments sound good. There are two different

slightly weird things we can celebrate on March 22nd, the first one we can be celebrating is “talk like William Shakespeare day” which I honestly think would be very fun but at the same time very confusing. I’m pretty sure the majority of us have read Shakespeare at least once in our lifetime and know how confusing it may be, but I bet you all the English teachers would have a blast. Our second is “goof-off day” which is honestly pretty weird, like why do we need one day to goof off and have fun? All this reminds me of is doing the hokey pokey in some office or in like a law firm or something.

I once saw a bumper sticker that said “what if the hokey pokey was what it's all about.” I honestly believe that. Also gives you something to think about. The last day of March (literally) that I want to point out is the 31st, this one is honestly a pretty weird one. “Bunsen Burner day” if any of you remember or are in chemistry class you probably can remember what this is. It’s a very weird object to have it’s own day for. Like who uses a bunsen burner in their everyday life? Not most of us.

How to Stay Safe: There are many things you can do to guarantee that you are safe and are not putting yourself or anyone else in jeopardy. One of these are safe and are not putting yourself or anyone else in jeopardy. One of these

preventative measures involves washing your hands frequently. As you may be knowledgeable, there is a new strain of coronavirus that spreads 80% expeditious, by washing your hands you are keeping yourself and others safe from these microbes. Next, wear a mask. This cannot be emphasized enough! Numerous deaths and cases could have easily been avoided if people took this pandemic more seriously. Numerous people complain that they cannot breathe with a mask on, but there are many ways to alter your mask so you can breathe. Last, but not least, if you are feeling sick stay at home and see if you can get tested. Although some

people are asymptomatic, is it still a real thing that you should get tested for. By getting tested, you can get the proper care you need and save others around you. Having Fun: Public Health Restrictions have closed and canceled many events such as concerts and festivals. They have even made many restaurants take out instead of dine-in. Despite the many changes that have occurred, you can still have loads of entertainment. It may be most crucial to have fun now. It is no lie that these are tough times. By having fun you can distract yourself from stressful circumstances. There are many activities that you can endure, that are safe and fun. Some of these

events include going on a hike, going golfing, going fishing, going camping, and more. Keep In Mind: Although our living conditions seem pretty hectic due to this virus, there are many people who have been working on it. As you may be aware, there are vaccinations that people are currently getting, which means that little by little life will go back to normal. Therefore, it is very important that we the people do our part in keeping each other safe. Yes, doing all these preventative measures can get annoying quickly and it is okay to admit that, but it is just another obstacle that we must overcome. Please be careful and stay safe.

Billie Eilish Documentary Hits Apple TV “The World’s A Little Blurry” By Carly Grozier On February 26, 2021, popular singer, Billie Eilish, released a documentary titled, “The World’s A Little Blurry.” Eilish became her fame at the ripe age of 13 years old when her song, “Ocean Eyes,” became super popular almost instantly. The 2 hour and thirty minute documentary follows Eilish’s journey as a singer so far and shows video documentations of her throughout the years as her career grows bigger and bigger each day. The documentary shows her fans where it all began, in her childhood home. Eilish and her brother Finneas would work out of his bedroom to write songs and then she would sing while Finneas produced them.

A huge aspect and message throughout is mental health. Eilish opens up about her struggle with mental illness from a very young age even before the fame began. She shows these emotions through her music and many fans love her, because they have found someone in the spotlight they can relate to. The documentary shows how Eilish was asked to make music that was relatable to everyone, but she did not like the idea of writing about anything else besides what she is feeling, which she expresses is sadness. "I'm like, but I'm never feeling happy so why would I write about things I don't know about? I feel the dark things. I feel them very strongly, and why would I not talk about them?,” said Eilish in the

documentary. Another time in her life that is covered in the documentary is a relationship she was in with actor, Brandon ‘Q’ Adams. Fans were unaware of this relationship while it was ongoing, but are learning about it now after the breakup. Many scenes show them on the phone expressing their love for one another and how much they miss each other. Other scenes show them together and in one scene we see Eilish singing to Q before she goes on stage. On the other hand, we see the dark side of their relationship. Q has his own problems, and while Eilish hoped to fix him, you just can not fix someone that does not wanna be fixed. She expresses how she is no longer happy in

their relationship after she asks Q to come comfort her in a moment of darkness, and he does not come. Overall, the documentary takes us through the past few years of her life showing us the making of her album, the winning of oscars, and touring the world. We see the ups and downs of her career throughout the film, which can be seen as a brave move by Eilish for putting herself out there, but in the long run may help many of her fans feel like they are not alone in their own sorrows.
