FIATECH 2010 CETI Awards Entry Form
Deadline: December 20, 2010 FIATECH established the CETI Award – Celebration of Engineering and Technology Innovation – in 2006 to promote and showcase significant achievements in technology research, development and implementation in the capital projects industry. The CETI Award is given annually to organizations that have conducted new and emerging technology implementations as well as to individuals who have made significant strides in advancing innovation in research & development. Categories The CETI Award is given annually in the following 12 categories: New & Emerging Technology Implementations

Scenariobased Project Planning (e.g. decision support, project definition and approach) Automated Design (e.g. design automation, modeling & simulation) Integrated, Automated Procurement & Supply Network (e.g. material tracking, supply chain management) Intelligent & Automated Construction Job Site (e.g. mobile IT,RFID, location tracking and GPS) Intelligent SelfMaintaining & Repairing Operational Facility (e.g. wireless sensors, real time experiencedbased maintenance planning systems) Realtime Project & Facility Management, Coordination & Control (e.g. collaboration tools, estimating, scheduling, cost management) New Materials, Methods, Products & Equipment (e.g. energy efficient materials, composites) Technology & Knowledgeenabled Workforce (e.g. educational tools, programs, training) Life Cycle Data Management & Information Integration (e.g. ISO 15926, BIM)
New & Emerging Technology Research & Development Generally speaking, entries in these three categories include an independent endorsement or are made by a sponsoring individual.
10. Outstanding Student Researcher (undergrad and graduate students as well as doctoral candidates who received their degree less than one year from submitting application)
11. Outstanding Early Career Researcher (researcher who has only 110 years in their career) 12. Outstanding Researcher (researcher with more than 10 years in career) Criteria The CETI Awards will be presented to companies, or individuals, whose technology implementations or research & development efforts clearly demonstrate tangible and significant results and benefits in the following areas.

New Industry Advancements – Features of the entry promote advancement of the capital projects industry. Entry should have new elements, features or application approaches.

Owner Benefits – Entry should demonstrate clear benefits realized by the owner and/or include a statement from
the owner.

Life Cycle Improvement – How did it provide benefit or value to the life cycle of a capital project?
•
Business Factors – How did it provide a positive Return on Investment (ROI) or other significant business advantage (e.g. safety, global networking, strategic positioning for future, decreased operations and maintenance costs, schedule reduction)?
•
Technical Factors – How did it advance any of the nine FIATECH Capital Projects Technology Roadmap element areas?
•
Cultural Factors Did it cause positive cultural impacts to the organization or industry?
•
Collaboration Requirement – Solution providers are required to jointly submit with an end user (owner or contractor) and should showcase a new technology or advancement of an existing technology.
